Welcome to the fantasy footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.

[00:00:21]

Oh, welcome here. Monday, September 16th. Mike Wright, Jason Moore, Andy Hollow, The Fantasy Footballers podcast back with you. Lots of emotion in the building. Most of it directed directly at Isiah Pacheco's situation.

[00:00:54]

Too soon. Too soon. Why?

[00:00:57]

Do you think we weren't going to talk about it?

[00:00:58]

I was hoping. I was hoping we got through this show and-I just ignored it. Yeah. I'm not ready to... I'm in denial right now. Really? Yeah. What stage is that?

[00:01:08]

It's a grief? Yeah. I mean, it's...

[00:01:11]

Swish. Bust. Oh, dang.

[00:01:13]

That's the switch No, I mean, it's part of the news today. We got a lot of... I mean, injuries have been a storyline in fantasy football. We got reactions to the weekend, studs and duds, and a whole lot more. How are you doing today, Mike? Are you somewhat rejuvenated, thanks to Marvin Harrison?

[00:01:30]

My pants will never recover from what just happened.

[00:01:36]

Put it that way. They flew off?

[00:01:42]

They did not fly off, man. They evaporated.

[00:01:46]

Dude, the beginning of that game, Marvin Harrison just going full nuclear in the first half, multiple touch downs, 130 yards, dominant, unbelievable hands, great speed.

[00:01:59]

Should have had four touch downs. I feel like- Realistically, should have had four. But yeah, that was fantastic. Overall, the teams are...

[00:02:07]

It feels like this weekend did a very good job of reinforcing the messaging on last week's show of Don't Freak Out, Don't Overreact. Like, those that lost their minds about Marv, all is well in the world. Those that lost their minds about Isaiah Likely, he came back to Earth. We had those that thought Anthony Richardson was the second coming got a harsh reality in Green Bay. There was balance to the force, I guess you could say, in week two. A bunch of injuries as well. And we like to react with you each and every Monday morning, your reactions to the weekend on the most sophisticated segment of the show, Monday Punday. We'll start with the good, Mike. Brock Power.

[00:02:58]

Oh, Oh, yeah. And Devon Achamp.

[00:03:03]

Chris Godsend.

[00:03:04]

Chris Godsend, yeah. Malik Yebers.

[00:03:07]

Oh, how about J. K. Dubbins? All right, our Breast.

[00:03:10]

Hallelujah.

[00:03:11]

And it was nice. Balanced to the Force to see Calvin ridiculous.

[00:03:16]

Yes. Speaking of the Force, marvelous Harrison Jr.

[00:03:20]

Alvin Camero?

[00:03:22]

Alvin Camero.

[00:03:23]

It would be more like Alvin Ferrari.

[00:03:25]

We're saying Camero is good?

[00:03:27]

Darnold Schmortzenegger.

[00:03:29]

Jackson Smith, Windjigba.

[00:03:34]

I like that. But also- There was bad.

[00:03:36]

Isiah Pacheck. How about Kolby Barfinson? The cheese has gone bad.

[00:03:44]

Christian D Oh, I know this guy.

[00:03:47]

Jamar Waste.

[00:03:48]

Oh, you are taking that personally. Isiah, rarely.

[00:03:53]

Yeah. How about Stank Del? Or Jared Goffel.

[00:03:57]

And Brandon Ayuk, Oh, Sam La Poopy Pants.

[00:04:03]

Hey, Amari Pooper. Oh, all right.

[00:04:06]

And Patrick Mahomeless.

[00:04:07]

Patrick Poopy.

[00:04:08]

Oh, no.

[00:04:13]

The emotions were raw. I mean, there were a lot of injuries. We didn't touch on them all in the Monday Punday, but I think I saw Cooper quarter cup because he had been got limited work.

[00:04:29]

So you You were just saying, order to the force. Some of the great performances came back down to life, some of the bad performances bounced back. So how do you cope with double weeks of that? Like Amari Cooper. Amari Cooper I believe you just tweeted out. He's eighth in targets right now in the NFL.

[00:04:47]

Yeah, he has 17 targets.

[00:04:49]

He's 84th in fantasy points.

[00:04:52]

Yeah, that's bad. I mean, he's had two brutal drops on big plays. One was a shutdown, one was a big downfield play, and he's caught five of 17 targets.

[00:05:06]

He looks checked out.

[00:05:08]

He does seem... Amari Cooper, as a player, has always looked different to me. It's not like Malik Nabors. You're not jumping off the line. It's always been precision. It's been he finds spots, he's in and out of breaks well. And so it's hard for me to read that, too, because obviously, he himself in the position to be wide open for a couple of these big plays that he brutally dropped. But I think people are freaking out.

[00:05:38]

Yeah. I mean, it would be hard to start him. There are a couple of players now where you go, Man, Michael Pitman, can I put this player in my lineup? Even though they are the target leaders, you're just not sure that that's going to amount to enough to be a good fantasy play.

[00:05:56]

If I have a target leader that's a downfield threat, like Amari Cooper, I think that's going to be okay. I really do. I think he'll be all right.

[00:06:04]

Historically, Amari Cooper, and this is really incredible work he's done his entire career, over and over and over and over having good fantasy finishes at the end of the season. Every single season, being the most hot and cold guy of all time, like half good, half bad. So I think he's just setting up a really strong finish.

[00:06:22]

Yeah, and they won the ball game. I mean, Deshaun Monson looked markedly better.

[00:06:28]

He did. He looked competent, which is not something you could say of... I mean, Bryce is- Bryce Young, he's Kyla Murray without any of the skill. He's just small. Is that the comp?

[00:06:45]

Well, it's like we don't... You get the hype jokes around Kyla Murray all the time, instead of celebrating the fact that he is... Like most NFL athletes are superhuman, and he's a normal-sized person that does great things. But Bryce Young is normal size and clearly- Normal. Normal. It's just depressing. Bryce Young attempted- No. This was next-gen stats. He attempted only two passes over 10 air yards despite trailing in every one of his drawbacks in the entire game, and he did not complete either of those throws.

[00:07:19]

This is why you start him. This is why, if you're a Panthers fan, you make sure he starts 17 games this year.

[00:07:27]

Because he's the path to your next- He is the path to a good quarterback. He's your path to what?

[00:07:31]

I thought you were talking about fantasy players.

[00:07:32]

No, no, no, no, no, Probably does a season make.

[00:07:47]

Yeah. Depressing. And I listen to Adam Thielen say that this was not a Bryce Young problem, but I don't know whose problem it was.

[00:07:56]

You sure about that? Yeah, that's very you, Adam. You sure about that? Adam's being nice to his quarterback.

[00:08:02]

And look, I'm not- Ask him a couple of years from now. Yeah, he wants to continue taking the paycheck and then moving on. It's incredible. And Jamal Chase, here's another one, two straight weeks. Maybe that'll be something we talk about on the show tomorrow in a quick question. Like, players that have had two ups or two downs. But Jamar Chase, two down weeks, two under double digits, out there for 92% of snaps. Every time the ball is going downfield, I'm Oh, this is the Chase target. There's always some white guy underneath the ball at that point in time.

[00:08:35]

Yeah, Mike Gussicki was just Hoover vacuum for targets this past Sunday.

[00:08:41]

Yeah, and targets to Erwin and target to Yosha Voss.

[00:08:44]

Look, it's really narrative. But if you watch the game, Jamar Chase, we'll just say he lost his cool there at the end of a game where he thought or he got up, and he had felt like He was either facemasked or tackled by his helmet. The replay did not look anything like that, at least to me, of the couple angles I saw. But he got up, got the huge penalty that really screwed over the bangles. But that penalty looked like a man who was just mad. He was mad at his team. He was big mad. They are not giving him the targets that he thinks that he should get. So that one, to me, feels like that's going to be the loudest squeaky wheel all week in practice. And be like, Joe, throw me the ball.

[00:09:32]

Well, and he did not get the contract he wanted.

[00:09:36]

Right.

[00:09:36]

So Jamard Chase has been... Brandon and I, Jamard Chase, those have been tough players for people to get put into their lineups.

[00:09:44]

Yeah, I've been starting them. It's great.

[00:09:45]

I will say this for the bangles. Three of their next four games is the Washington Commanders, the Carolina Panthers, and the New York Giants.

[00:09:51]

That's how we get right, baby.

[00:09:53]

That's an opportunity for sure. All right, let's talk about some offenses that have been surprisingly Incredible.

[00:10:07]

Welcome to Ready to Roll, presented by Nissan.

[00:10:15]

We're two weeks into the year, and we've had some drastic changes on offense. Now, spoiler alert. The bears will not be discussed in this segment. Oh, no. The offensive changes for the bears have yet to work. They're the I believe they have the lowest yards per play, lowest yards per play in the NFL below Carolina.

[00:10:38]

Yeah. Part of my excitement of Ryan Grub and bringing his offense to Seattle was not just Grub. It was the removal of Shane Waldron, who I felt like was not a very good coordinator, who is now Caleb Williams coordinator.

[00:10:49]

And he's going to be the new Arthur Smith of discussions if something doesn't change. Now, I watched that game last night, the Houston game, and I came away saying, Caleb Williams He didn't have done a darn thing. He was pressured on 27 of 28 dropbacks. The defensive line was exploding through the offensive line on every play. Could he have done more? Maybe. It's really tough. This is not college. When you scramble and chuck it downfield, I believe one tweet said, There are men down there taking care of their families, and they're going to intercept the football. This is not college. But let's talk about some offensive coordinators that have made changes that are mind-blowing. We have to start with Clint Kubiak in New Orleans. Baby Cub. They're 2-0. They destroy Dallas.

[00:11:39]

They being the New Orleans Saints, the Dennis Allen-led New Orleans Saints. My favorite. I know people might not know.

[00:11:47]

Sometimes you got to pop it out and show them. That's a direct quote from Dennis Allen.

[00:11:51]

People might not know how I- That's a direct quote.

[00:11:53]

Oh, you didn't see it? I didn't have time to fire up that video.

[00:11:56]

He gave a locker room speech and ended it with, By the way, there were some profanities mixed in. Sometimes you got to pop it out and show them.

[00:12:03]

Oh, man. Okay, Dennis. Yeah. I just want people to know I am full-blown rooting for the saints.

[00:12:12]

Let's remind people why.

[00:12:14]

Yeah. At our live show in LA, one of my bold predictions was that they were going to, on week five, Dennis Allen will be fired. It's mostly because I can't stand the persona of Dennis Allen, and I don't think he's a good coach by history, but holy moly, they're on fire. Clint Kubiak, coming in, has got this offense clicking. And at the live show, I made this announcement because the chance of the Saints being a great team is zero. I don't know. If they win 10 games, I said, I'm going to shave my head on the show. On the show. Now, I am full-blown rooting for a 10-win season because what a turn of events. Also, it's just fun to have- Did you just say a turd of events? No, I said a turd of events.

[00:13:08]

They have the largest increase of any team in pre-snap motion, something you're going to see. What? Very common in the story lines of three teams that are 2-0 with new offensive coordinators. Clint Kubiak in New Orleans, Liam Cohen in Tampa Bay, who there was concerned about losing Dave Canales. Yeah, there was. And then Ryan Grub in Seattle, 2-0. Both of their wins were closer, easier schedule, but they're getting it done. Those are the top three teams in terms of increase of pre-snap motion from last year, this year. So the new offensive coordinator is coming in, the ones that were pursued, the ones that people wanted, they came in and they brought pre-snap motion to confuse the defense.

[00:13:50]

It's not just the pre-snap motion. It's also the saints were dead last in play action. There is this old way of thinking of the run sets up the pass because the run sets up play action. No. Play action, just more often than not, play action works because if you get the linebackers to just freeze for a half of a second- Or float one direction. Because they have to. Are they handing it off? I'm not quite sure. And then in the NFL, that half a second, that's what it takes to get open. So for the Saints, dead last in play action to number one, 31st in pre-stent motion to number one. And We spent the offseason talking about motion of just, how are these people not figuring it out? You look at the top five offenses in the NFL, and what is a thread that goes between all five of them? It's all five of those used a ton of pre-snap motion because it gives you more information.

[00:14:48]

Yeah, it's unbelievable. It's so directly- Why are we not doing this? It's like one of the most directly correlative stats. Then you see some teams that just are boring and stand there.

[00:14:59]

We're not going to do it.

[00:14:59]

It's What are you doing?

[00:15:00]

We don't need to do it.

[00:15:01]

With all three teams, Tampa, Seattle, and New Orleans, there has been, with the pre-snap motion and the change in offense, an expanded role for a slot or a motion receiver. Yes. Rasheed Shahid has been the beneficiary in New Orleans, leading all wide the receiver is in yards per route run. He is faster, miles per hour-wise, than everybody in the entire National Football League, except for Tyree kill in next Gen stats. And you see it, they're going to take shots to Shahid every game. But if for some reason they keep targeting him and using him in the ways that they do right now, it's going to be more than just a deep threat. Jason started the week. Chris Godwin, 34% of the snaps in the slot last year. Now, 54% in week one, 76% in week two. Yeah, baby. Dominant performance for Chris Godwin this past weekend. We saw a huge change in what we got out of Jackson Smith and Jigba in week two. Week one, it looked like more of the same. Week two, 16 targets. 16 targets, 12 for 117.

[00:16:02]

That was the first thing I went and watched this morning because the NFL decided to bless us with 10 morning games.Un Unbelievable. And three afternoon games. What are we doing here?

[00:16:14]

What is the plan with that? We have nine televisions, the NFL. We had to have- Nines should be enough.

[00:16:19]

So that game wasn't on. And we just keep seeing the updates of what's going on with JSM? The target's out of control. So I went and watched him, and they just... This was It was a very intentional effort to get JSM the ball. There was quite a few real short. They're getting him in motion, creating mismatches, getting the short stuff. But then they also went down the field to him.

[00:16:42]

This was- Third-highest error yards of any wide receiver this week.

[00:16:45]

I don't know what the true answer is yet for Jason, but for us to get to week two and have this event happen, a possible year-shifting event for Jason, it's very exciting. Waiting.

[00:17:00]

Certainly is. It's the first time we've really... I mean, he's currently a top 10 receiver on the week, which is special. They won 23 to 20 in New England, Miami, Detroit, and the Giants, the next three on the schedule for them. We'll see one more tonight. Kelen Moore taking over in Philly, the Monday night football game. We saw Devante Smith be the beneficiary of the expanded slot roll. Tonight will be more interesting because there's no Ajay Brown. We got the news that he was going to be out with the ham string injury.

[00:17:26]

Shout out to Philadelphia. We appreciate that. Let Unless you're paying against AJ Brown, you did not appreciate that.

[00:17:31]

No, they got the word out early.

[00:17:32]

But the bulk of fantasy players, we appreciate that.

News and notes from Around the League, presented by USAA Insurance.

[00:18:09]

It's a bloodbath. Yeah. I mean, Christian McCalfree, injured reserve. Jason said that they set the pick on fire. I don't know if I'd go that far, but it's close. I mean, we- The McCafrey fantasy draft?

[00:18:27]

Yeah.

[00:18:28]

I mean, I- That thing is- It's not on It is on fire.

[00:18:31]

I mean, it's a complete waste for where you drafted it. Obviously, when Christian McCafrey comes back, it's going to be very, very valuable. But you had the first pick in the draft, and you took someone that is not going to play for the first Five weeks, and it could be far longer.

[00:18:46]

Yeah, no, that's all true. I guess I just meant the 49ers showed their weaknesses yesterday on offense without Christian McAfee. It all looked like sunshine and rainbows in week one with Jordan Mason filling in. And then yesterday against Minnesota, you saw some of the necessity of Christian McAfee. So if he gets back, obviously, that's going to be a really big discussion for the fancy community, what you do, those that have McAfree, do you try to get something for him? I saw him hit the trade block in both of our major league.

[00:19:22]

So the thing is, he's on IR, so that means the best case scenario was three more games. And then he could come back. Except the reporting has been this is probably more like a six-week staycation on the IR for Chris McCafrey.

[00:19:39]

You think he's having a good time?

[00:19:40]

Which is, Okay, let's go six weeks. A ramp-up period. I can't imagine that despite... If anyone could do it is Chris McAfee, but the team is trying to win a Super Bowl. I can't imagine his first week back is, All right, McAfee, you're back out there to 25 opportunities this this week. So now you have that seven, and you're going to play him, but that's seven weeks if things go well. So it's an extremely difficult situation. The way that I'm looking at it, honestly, is I got McAfee in the League of record. You have him, Andy, in our dynasty League. Dynasty is a much trickier situation because it's long term. But if you're in a redraft, I'm looking at McCafee more of... He is of incredible value to the team that has Jordan Mason. That's how I'm looking at it. Instead of, I'm trying to get Jordan Mason because that's now... That window is, as I think, slammed shut unless you're going to really, really pay for Jordan Mason.

[00:20:42]

Even when you try to pay, you might not be able to do it.

[00:20:45]

Exactly. I think that- Said like a man with experience. I think that- I tried hard. It's more of a valuable thing of getting Macafre over to the team that has Mason. If they have something expendable goal they can give you.

[00:21:01]

Obviously, it depends on how the rest of your draft went. If your team is good, if you're winning, this is great. Hold on to him. He's going to help take you over the top. If your team is struggling and you're out of runningbacks, then you've got to make a move because by the time week 9 comes around, if that's when he's playable, if it goes that long, you're so close to the fantasy playoffs. That's where I say it feels like you lit it on fire.

[00:21:26]

Yeah. Again, it might be three weeks from now. You talk about winning a Super Bowl. If the 49ers are not winning ball games, it forces the issue more. Could be. So I think it's a little bit fluid. We don't have to make every decision today. It's just unfortunate that he hit IR. Ajay Brown ruled out for Monday night football at the ham string. This was Sunday morning. More impactful, Evan Ingram, ham string injury in pregame warmups was a last minute inactive. And what was most difficult, and this is why we always recommend you have league that You run waivers every day, except for Tuesday. But on Sunday, if you're playing on Sleeper or other platforms, make sure it goes from running waivers at nine o'clock to open free agency just for Sunday. Because if this news came after, the waivers would have run. And so there were teams in league that you didn't even have the option to pick up a tight end to play, or you were stuck with a backup tight end in Atlanta on Monday morning, whose name I learned. So more injury news. We'll get to it in just a second.

[00:22:34]

Let's take a quick break. So, Al, I don't know if you can find us some. Maybe we'll go here. Chief's running back, Isiah Pacheco, suffered a fractured fibula late in the game against the bangles. Mri to further evaluate. He's going to land on IR.

[00:23:01]

Yeah.

[00:23:02]

That sucks.

[00:23:06]

Jason. My guy is a double hurt for me because he's one of my my guys, and also he's in my League of Record.

[00:23:13]

It's almost like you would draft the players you believe in.

[00:23:15]

Yeah.

[00:23:15]

He was dominating. The volume was so incredible for Pacheco.

[00:23:21]

Yeah, he was definitely their workhorse. He was their passing downs, their short yardage. He was everything I hoped he was until he was injured.

[00:23:29]

Carson Steel, Samajay P. Ryan, eventually, Clyde, after his IR stunt, potentially. Honestly, people want us to just tell you who to sign. I'm not sure you're breaking the bank on any of those Guys, if I had to pick one to put on my team for free, it'd be Carson Steal, because I think he'll get the majority of the work we care about. But I think Patrick Mahomes, I think the passing game. I think running through the air. I think Xavier worthy. I think Rashi Rice.

[00:24:02]

That's going to be- It's going to be a committee. I would rather have the P. Ryan side. I mean, Carson Steal is a little bit more exciting as an athlete, and you hope that maybe he can develop into something special. P. Ryan won't develop into something special. But I do think this team now is going to abandon the run, for the most part. They're going to throw the ball a ton and run through the air. That'll be those little P. Ryan dump offs. If you're in a PPR, half PPR, I think there'll be a lot of value there.

[00:24:31]

I mean, Carson Steal is still marked as a fullback, I think, at the NFL level, and looks like it when he runs. So what a mess. Cooper Cupp left the Cardinals game against the Cardinals. Yeah, that would make sense. He left the game against the Cardinals with a left ankle injury, didn't return, was in a walking boot. Absolutely brutal for Matthew Stafford in this game into the future. No, Nakuwa. It's brutal for Kyren. Teams will know how to play this team. Kyren was awful in this game, completely saved by a garbage time, touched down in it. Thank goodness for that.

[00:25:16]

They have no offensive line, and they have neither of their superstar wide receiver.

[00:25:21]

Is their season in peril at this point?

[00:25:23]

It is definitely in peril. I trust McVay to try to figure it out, but He couldn't figure it out yesterday.

[00:25:31]

2-2 Atwell came in. We have Tyler Johnson. We have Demarcus Robinson. We have Jordan Wittington. We have Colby Jack/Colby Barfinson.

[00:25:41]

Colby Jack Squat.

[00:25:42]

It was double brutal of the game script. If you didn't watch the game and you just see the final number, it was a blowout immediately for the Arizona Cardinals. The second half of that game, if Cooper Cup had been healthy, the nasty See, disgusting garbage points that would have flowed.

[00:26:02]

Guys, they play San Francisco next week. They play Chicago in Chicago the week after. Those are two defenses that you might... The answer might not be to start any of those wide receiver for a couple of weeks.

[00:26:14]

We'll keep going.

[00:26:15]

But then they play Green Bay. Then they play Las Vegas, whose defense is very good. The problem is going to be, is there a pass rush from San Francisco? Yeah. How about Chicago? Oh, yeah. What about Green Bay? They're going to get there. Put it on you. Then Max Crosby after that. Matthew Stafford, survival is your goal at this point.

[00:26:36]

Arizona has no pass rush. They have none. They are the worst pass rush in the league. They destroyed Stafford yesterday because he has no offensive line anymore.

[00:26:48]

Stafford should go on to IR with... No, man.

[00:26:53]

He was sacked five times by a team with no pass rush yesterday.

[00:27:00]

It's not going to be good.

[00:27:01]

He was in an impossible situation. Jefferson left the game with a quad contusion. He is fine, according to what I'm seeing this morning.

[00:27:10]

Yeah, they came out and said day to day. So if you got a week, you should be all right for Justin Jefferson. Also, baby, that play.

[00:27:17]

Oh, my gosh.Oh, the 97-yarder. From Darnold?

[00:27:19]

Oh, my gosh. Darnold, not the sacrificial baby when you have no one behind you to play. No. Maybe that's been the key. If you have no one behind you, he needed to know. He's got job security.

[00:27:31]

Maybe.

[00:27:32]

This sucked. Joe Mixon got tackled by a hip drop tackle. It's supposed to be illegal. No penalty thrown.

[00:27:41]

Have you guys seen one penalty called? I haven't.

[00:27:44]

I've seen so many illegal formation penalties.

[00:27:47]

Yeah, there have been- Get that out of the game, right? There have been five brutal hip drops in the first two weeks. Two of them led to ankle injuries. Jordan Addison, Joe Mixon now. He's going to get an MRI. He tried to come back in the game. This is so common for ankle injuries. Normally a player, they spray in their ankle, they go get it wrapped, they play on it or try to play on it. The wrap comes off, swell, swell, swell, swell, and you might miss time. So we're monitoring Joe Mixon. And guess what? That's Cam Akers at that point. So we'll talk about it tomorrow. We'll have more information on the injury tomorrow on our waiver show. I'm on Ross Saint-Brown. He left multiple times throughout the game. He did return. The The initial report from Dan Campbell was positive. A contusion in cramping is what they're saying. That's exceptionally good news. We'll see. Dan Campbell is very forthright in injury reports. He said he's all right. I don't think it's long term. Monitor it through the week.

[00:28:45]

And Amun Ra is tough. All NFL players are tough, but this is a guy that I feel like he would play through a broken arm.

[00:28:52]

He will spend the next seven days in one of those-Hyperbarry? In one of those chambers not moving. He'll do it for Seven days. If the doctor said, If you do this, you can feed you, and then you'll be able to play, he would do that.

[00:29:06]

Taysam Hill left early with a chest injury taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. Have you guys heard anything else about Taysom Hill? I have not.

[00:29:12]

We can try and find something.

[00:29:15]

Tank Bigsby left the game with a shoulder injury, didn't return.

[00:29:18]

Yeah, that looked troubling. It looked really bad. I would not be surprised if a report comes out today that it is a significant injury.

[00:29:27]

So Taysom did return home last night. He's scheduled for more imaging tests today. The team does believe the injury is not overly serious.

[00:29:36]

So there are some people reporting that the Tank Bigsby injury could have been a concussion. We'll monitor that for the week. Tajay Spears Did he get it with an ankle injury. Oh, boy.

[00:29:48]

Tony Pollard was already one of the better draft picks.

[00:29:53]

Yeah. Marshawn Lloyd left with an ankle injury. Oh, my gosh, dude. Was that the injury he was dealing with already?

[00:30:00]

I thought it was a ham string.

[00:30:00]

I thought it was a ham string. I think there's a new one, which would be like his 17th injury since they drafted him this year.

[00:30:08]

Great.

[00:30:09]

Thankfully, he's not on the Saints.

[00:30:11]

That was today's News & Notes presented by USAA Insurance. Learn more at usaa. Com/insurance. Let's jump in.

[00:30:23]

This week's fantasy stud muffins.

[00:30:29]

We Yeah, I mean, Kyler Murray.

[00:30:32]

Yeah, baby.

[00:30:33]

This was- Perfection. It really was. It was an amazing- He didn't even get to play a whole game. No, he came out with probably eight or nine minutes left. A perfect performance from Kyler Murray. Literally a perfect passer rating. He's the second player in NFL history with 250 plus passing yards, 50 plus rushing yards, and a perfect passer rating in a single game.

[00:30:57]

And it was- Which, of course, the perfect passer rating. We We all know it's that number that you cannot possibly forget of 158.3. Right, right, right. It's right there for everyone. Just flows. Yeah.

[00:31:08]

Yeah, 158.3. And Mike, what does it entail? What's the definition of the passer rating? I'm sure that's also as understandable as the number.

[00:31:15]

It's a rating of the passer. We all know this.

[00:31:19]

Yes, yes. But look, it's better to have a perfect rating than not. Kyler looked amazing, and it was from the jump. The initial throw to Marvin Harrison in the back of the end zone was one of the lowest probability touch downs by next-gen stats in the entire NFL this year.

[00:31:34]

The dude was dragged. Michael Jackson scooted on his toes. He was already dragging his toes before he caught the ball.

[00:31:43]

Brian Baldinger had a tweet talking about that play, and inadvertently said, Fitzgerald in the middle of the breakdown. Because you see greatness in an Arizona Cardinal uniform. And his comments after the game, Marvin Harrison, were the fact that Kyler only had four incompletions, and all four were two Marvin Harrison.

[00:32:01]

Therefore, he can do better. I will say this. If you didn't watch the game, there were two different goal-line opportunities Marvin Harrison had, where it was so good to see. Both times, it was easy to recognize Marvin Harrison's left in one-on-one near the goal line. And both times, Kyler went right to him just like he should. Neither worked out. But I'm telling you, they're going to get that thing down. And it's just great to know that when you're down there, if you're going to go one-on-one, we're going to go to him.

[00:32:30]

Yeah, he is a physical force. No more commentary about his speed. He had a 60-yard shutdown where he Supermaned into the end zone, and all is well in the world. And for the Cardinals, it's a great sign. Kyler is my guy. I had traded Josh Allen in our dynasty League to pick up Kyler, and after one week, it was like, Oh, no. Are we going to be okay? But this is a big performance, and it shows the potential of the Arizona offense when they're utilizing everybody. They scored 41 points and pulled him early.

[00:33:05]

Detroit and Washington are up next, so should be two more good games.

[00:33:09]

Yeah, Detroit, Washington. Derek Carr, he just ho-hom, efficiency master. I believe, this is still true, that every possession that Derek Carr has led the team at quarterback this entire year has led to points. I believe it's 15 consecutive drives.

[00:33:27]

How long does this So have to go on before we believe what we are seeing? Derek Carr plays the Eagles in the Atlanta Falcons next. That should be great. That should be after the first two weeks, that's easy. I pick him up and I stream him in those matchups.

[00:33:47]

But how- Here's what's nice.

[00:33:49]

How bought in are you?

[00:33:50]

Kamara is a passion game monster. Olave is a star, even if his star isn't as bright as Shahid's right now. And Shahid is big play machine. They have tight ends they can throw the football to. So when you talk about all of those pieces, it should keep working. Now, teams are going to adjust. We saw Tua Tuna-Vailoa and Mike McDaniel come out, set the league on fire for half a year, and teams adjusted to what they were doing. There's going to be a give and take, and I guarantee you there's going to be a Derek Carr historical remember me type of game where he makes some mistakes. What do you think about him when you look at Baker and how he's playing?

[00:34:29]

Baker is balling out. Baker looks great. Baker right now is the number one quarterback. In fantasy?Yeah.

[00:34:36]

And Derek Carr is number two? Correct. So we're living in the upside down?

[00:34:40]

That is correct. Yes, we are.

[00:34:42]

So, yeah, both of those guys need to be in contention for streamers every week. And there are quarterbacks like Joe Burrow that are going to come up as like, Am I just moving on? Am I just- Burrow was okay.

[00:34:54]

Yeah, Burrow actually looked like- Or Jared Goff. I mean, Jared Goff. Oh, yes. Jared Goff. I mean, back to back.

[00:34:59]

He does not take to that Dominator name. I'm removing it.

[00:35:02]

Okay. No, that's fair.

[00:35:03]

I think we might need a workshop changing it because it's been a Dominator.

[00:35:09]

Back to Garf?

[00:35:10]

Yeah. I mean, he was so bad, and he honestly looked not great.

[00:35:16]

Did he pass for 460 yards or something? Or did they have 460 yards on offense and yet somehow lost?

[00:35:23]

I'm pretty sure the offense- I'm trying to search Garf.

[00:35:25]

That's not his name. No, it isn't.

[00:35:28]

He had 200 in week one, 307 yards.

[00:35:32]

Yeah, that's the part that's crazy.

[00:35:35]

And it should have been more interceptions. They were number one in total passes in week two.

[00:35:40]

He threw the ball. Is this right? 56 times?

[00:35:45]

I'm seeing 55, but...

[00:35:48]

Okay, I'm looking on our site. I'm going to go with 55. Maybe one of their backfield guys throw one pass?

[00:35:56]

Maybe.

[00:35:58]

Yeah, so that's another discussion. We'll for the Duds. At Running Back, Alvin Kamara, it was Christmas all over again. Yeah, he was indeed Super Kamario. Feel free to hit the drop if you got it.

[00:36:07]

He was unbelievable and could have scored another one.

[00:36:16]

Derek Carson, nah, this was mine.

[00:36:18]

It was awesome. James Cooke on Thursday night. Incredible. Devon Achan as well on Thursday night. Brees Hall, Braeland Allen. Braeland Allen scored twice. Brees Hall was everything else.

[00:36:30]

Yeah, I mean, you would think if Braille and Allen scored two touch downs, you'd be really disappointed with whatever Brees did. But Brees was great. Eight targets, seven for 52, and a countdown through the air, in addition to the 14 for 62 on the ground.

[00:36:44]

Now, nine touches for Braille and Allen, and they led to good things. That is something interesting to watch.

[00:36:50]

Yeah, I think they'll continue to have him involved. But obviously, Brees is their main offensive weapon. They utilize him as such.

[00:36:58]

Mike, JK Dobbins.

[00:37:00]

Dude.

[00:37:01]

The RBC four in back-to-back weeks.

[00:37:03]

17 carries, 131 and one. The receiving work wasn't there, unfortunately, this week. We had the one target. In this backfield, they're going to run a... How many times did Gus run? Eighteen.

[00:37:16]

Gus had more carries than Dobbins.

[00:37:19]

Each week- There is so much rushing to go around. But right now, JK Dobbins is the one who has juice to actually break a play.

[00:37:28]

He's popping off the big play. They ran 17 and 18 times.

[00:37:31]

Yeah, and that's what they're going to want to do going forward. I will say this, JK Dobbins, such a great steal. If you got him in your draft late, I hope you started him this week. You should have. Yeah. I think he is incredibly... He is a sell high. If you can find someone who believes that he is- You think Dobbins is? I think Dobbins is a sell high. I am worried about the Achilles history. We saw Cam Akers come back quick and was really, really hot, got injured again. Interesting. And so I just worry whether it's going to last this long. And as soon as it stops, if he has one bad game, they play Pittsburgh. Yeah, that's a tough game. In Pittsburgh, if it's a bad game, I don't think you're going to get much for him. Right now, I think there's a chance you might have people really paying up for what they think is a great star running back.

[00:38:25]

You don't think 9.9 per attempt is going to continue?

[00:38:28]

I do not.

[00:38:30]

I'm in the middle of what Jason's talking about. I think while he's healthy, it's going to be an incredible run. But if he does keep doing it, it would be essentially the first time we've ever seen it.

[00:38:43]

Carolina is a fun team to play. I'll tell you that. That helped. James Connor, Jordan Mason, Ramondre Stevenson, Big Game, Zack Charbonnet, David Montgomery, and Jamir Gibbs. Charbonnet.

[00:38:56]

Charbonnet is in this list because he had a countdown. Yes.

[00:39:00]

He got He does not look good.

[00:39:00]

No, he does not. He looks too big.

[00:39:05]

He looks like he's- Too triangular?

[00:39:07]

Yeah, I don't know, man. He certainly looks slow. I'm thrilled he got that rushing touch down. He is a Good receiving back, which is very valuable for fantasy. Five targets caught all five. In PPR, half PPR while Ken Bone is gone, I think that Charbate is obviously a player that should be in your lineup. It's just unfortunate that he's going to get all the work, and you would want all the work to result in monstrous fantasy games. And I think you're going to get okay games.

[00:39:38]

Why and how did Derek Henry hit 84 rushing yards?

[00:39:41]

They changed some stuff over the second half of where they were having him run. So hopefully, the team looks at that and says, Oh, we got to get him outside the tackles and get the Yeti going at full speed.

[00:39:55]

They did lose.

[00:39:56]

They did. They did. That was crazy. Man, those Raiders showed some heart. And honestly, Devante Adams was having the worst game. We're somewhere, I think, middle to late third quarter, and I was like, Guys, Devante Adams has 24 yards. And then he just took over and was unbelievably good.

[00:40:20]

Twelve targets, nine for 110, and a shutdown.

[00:40:22]

A smooth criminal catch on the sideline there.

[00:40:25]

Yeah, it was unbelievable. And then wide receiver, Adams obviously had the big game. Marvin Harrison. I'm never going back to the pants store. Marvin Harrison was 4 for 130 and 2. Detroit and Washington coming up. And be excited. Be not afraid. It's all going to be okay. Speaking of okay, Malik Nabors had 18 targets, was 10 for 127, and a breakdown was the start of the week for the show.

[00:40:59]

And Do you know what % of the passes that was for Malik Nabors?

[00:41:05]

I believe I do. In the 40%? No, I think it was like 67%.

[00:41:08]

67%. So that's fun.

[00:41:12]

Daniel Jones. That's not sustainable. I mean, Daniel Jones, though, is doing the thing we say you should do. When you don't have a chance, chuck it to the guy that is better than everybody else.

[00:41:22]

Well, and they won the game. Wait, no, they didn't.

[00:41:27]

It was Malik Nabour's fault. It was.

[00:41:28]

There was a fourth down play where they were driving. Because the man was exhausted. Yeah, he had to be exhausted. It was awesome, though. That was an easy catch, and he dropped it on fourth down, and then the other team comes back and gets there.

[00:41:41]

Kyle, correct me if I'm wrong, but the stat was this is the first team to ever score three- Three touch downs. Three touch downs and lose to a team that did not score a touch down? Correct.

[00:41:51]

In regulation. In regulation, yeah.

[00:41:54]

Through two weeks, Malik Nabors has the most receptions in the NFL, the third most yards in the Most 20 plus yard plays. He is a super stud.

[00:42:03]

He is awesome. If they're going to feature him... I mean, they can't feature him like this every game, but obviously, he is their focal point. Every week must start.

[00:42:15]

He was a my guy because you didn't pay Marvin Harrison prices from the League Nabors. In fantasy, you had to pay up for Marvin Harrison, and Nabors was going to give you the same stuff way later in the draft. Metcalf, welcome back. He was a buy-low last week, which we talked about. I wish I had been able to pull it off in a couple of leads. 10 for 129 in a countdown. Nico Collins is doing Nico things.

[00:42:39]

Yes, he is. Nico looks like he's...

[00:42:45]

I'm giving him that drop, too. He is too physical.

[00:42:50]

I think he's competing for the wide receiver one on the season. He is unbelievably strong, big, talented.

[00:42:58]

He's not concerned about his target competition.

[00:43:00]

No, which hopefully you cashed in on the Stefan Diggs' sell opportunity in week one because he's just not going to be a focal point of the offense. Oh, boy. Of all the relief that I could have possibly had in week two, Calvin Ridley going off for 4 for 77 in a countdown.

[00:43:20]

In the weirdest way possible.

[00:43:21]

And then another shutdown on the ground. He was going against SaaS Gardner, so this matchup was going to be a tough one, but putting up a top 10 performance on the week was-Whoo.

[00:43:31]

He had a big play, easy catch, drop ski. And then he comes back, has an impossibly hard, You're never going to make this play catch, and he caught it for a countdown.

[00:43:43]

The defenders stopped playing at the end of it because they're like, There's no way he could have caught that.

[00:43:49]

Jefferson, 97-yard, shutdown helps.

[00:43:52]

Yeah.

[00:43:53]

But hopefully, he's back out there. He looks good. Godwin, we talked about it, 7 for 117 in a countdown. He was the man. Mike Evans had a down week for this team. Godwin had an incredible week. Jason, credit to you for bringing him up multiple times last week. Quentin Johnston, 5 for 51 and 2. Here's the thing about his performance. He is their big physical receiver. That is going to be valuable in this offense from a... If you had to pick one guy to bet on, you want the guy that's going to maybe catch the ball in the red zone. So Quentin fits that profile. But this is a team that ran the ball 35 times between their starting running backs. So I don't think you're going to really have high volume totals for any receiver on this team without a countdown. Mcconkey last week He scored. Cool. You're happy. This week, Quentin Johnston. Five for 51 is not special, but he scored twice. So if you have to bet on one, I'd still be betting on Quentin. It's just going to be a little bit tough with the way this offense wants to function.

[00:44:56]

Pittsburgh and Kansas City are next for Quentin Johnston. He'll be on the waiver show, and I'm okay with a speculative ad, but he won't be at the top of my-It's like Alan Lazard in week one.

[00:45:09]

Do we know, wasn't Herbert injured in that game? He was.

[00:45:13]

He left for a little bit. He came back, and then I saw there was a note about X-rays were going to happen.

[00:45:20]

I don't remember if it was-But I haven't seen any- I remember possible MCL.

[00:45:24]

He came back in and played. Okay, so we're not worried. He came back in and played and ran. I mean, he had that big run after that injury. Okay. Rasheed Shahid, 4 for 96 in a countdown. We brought him up and ready to roll this week. And then Zah flowers, 7 for 91 in a countdown. It was good to see, but they got upset at home. Jsn, we talked about it in Ammon Ra, 19 targets. 19 targets. Despite coming off the field for a little while. So Amun Ra, all is restored, balanced to the fourth.

[00:45:53]

Yes.

[00:45:54]

That has been the story. George Kittle, seven for 76 in a countdown. He's one of the very few top-tier tight ends that gave you what you wanted. I mean, it was good to see. And he came off for a few minutes, got an IV. He was dealing with cramps.

[00:46:11]

And Trey McBride might be the best of all the top five tight-end picks. We were going through them. Kelsey looks scary right now. Sam Laporta looks a little scary with Jamison Williams breaking out. Dawn Kincaid's off to a slow start. Mark Andrews had the week one, super scared.

[00:46:27]

Trey McBride is great. You just named four players with no touchdance.

[00:46:29]

That's right. Trey McBride, who got a touchdance. Yeah, he did. Yeah, he did. If you didn't watch the game. Trey McBride, 6 for 67 through the air. Some incredible catches. He got a touchdance because James Connor fumbled at the goal line, and Trey McBride fell on the ball in the end zone.

[00:46:47]

The countdown, 100% fluky. Nothing to read into there, but 6 for 67, again, in a game where Marvin Harrison did what he did, and then the fourth quarter was not needed by these players. 6 for 67, it warms my heart. I'll take that.

[00:47:05]

Brock Bauer, 9 for 98. He's too good.

[00:47:08]

He is unbelievable. Andy, you were asking, Could he be the best tight-in in the NFL right now?

[00:47:18]

The best pass catching one, he could be.

[00:47:20]

He could be the best pass catcher. Him and McBride. Total tight-in. Mike, you brought up Kittle's a better tight-in. Kelsey right now not doing a lot.

[00:47:30]

Andrews- But the fact that he's two games into his career, and you can have that argument. He's not the best right now.

[00:47:38]

No, it's just a fun talking point.

[00:47:40]

But you can have an argument that is somewhat legitimate. He is exceptional.

[00:47:47]

Most receptions for a rookie tied in through two games, and he broke the record by three. So he had 15. The record was 12. He was the tight in five and four in the first two career games. He was brought up as the finalist for a my guy because it felt too scary to name a rookie tight in that. But he was right. I mean, I almost did it.

[00:48:08]

No touch downs in the first two weeks. It was top five in both. We have a Monday night game that could shift But that is the dream.

[00:48:16]

You want production that exists outside of having to score. And Gusecki had a huge game, seven for 91. He'll be a part of the waiver show tomorrow.

[00:48:25]

Did you bring up Hunter Henry? No. Hunter Henry.

[00:48:28]

8 for 109.

[00:48:30]

8 for 109. He had 109 yards.

[00:48:35]

Hold on. Let me pull up Jacobi Brusset's line. Jacobi Berset had 149 passing yards.

[00:48:39]

Did you hear that, Andy? Let me say that again. Jacobi Berset had 149 passing yards.

[00:48:48]

Hunter Henry had 109 receiving yards. He had all of them. Seattle. What are you doing, baby? We know where the ball is It's going to Hunter Henry.

[00:49:01]

They won.

[00:49:02]

It's just funny.

[00:49:03]

Hey, if we have a tight-end funnel against Seattle, that would be delightful.

[00:49:08]

The tight-end position outside of the very top-tier guys is so much a product of opportunity. Like, Hunter Henry has always been capable of these type of games if you just threw him the ball a ton of times. If you had an offense that needed him to be this, he could do it. There are guys like that in the NFL that just don't have as many chances.

[00:49:29]

Which moving forward, I don't know how much I'll be on Hunter Henry.

[00:49:34]

No, he does this every year three times.

[00:49:37]

It's a few weeks back, but it was those, Hey, look at the early schedule. Is there any tight ends? Should your draft plan go terrible? Who's someone who has two great games to start? It was Hunter Henry. I got scared off by the week one because it was not great, but the matchup was there. The matchups are not going to be there for the Jets and the 49ers.

[00:49:56]

Hunter Henry last year, just for you. Oh, yeah. So you remember, he was the number one tight in in week one, number two in week two. He skipped a whole bunch of games. And then the last two of his season, he was three and three. So he had four top three- So he just bookends. Yeah, I mean, apparently.

[00:50:12]

And to be clear, he didn't actually skip the season. He played.

[00:50:15]

Yeah, no, he played.

[00:50:17]

He just skipped being good for fantasy.

[00:50:19]

But he's always been capable. So let's take a break. Let's talk about some duds. All All right. We're going to help console you through some tough performances.

[00:50:35]

Pooped in his big boy pants.

[00:50:42]

All right, quarterbacks. We did not But we did not get any touch downs from Josh Allen.

[00:50:49]

Yeah, Josh Allen, the poopy pants almost feels like the poop was just seepage from the Miami Dolphins into Josh Allen's pants. He didn't need to do anything.

[00:50:59]

Just osmosis poop? Yeah.

[00:51:02]

I'm not concerned about Josh Allen. This was a devastatingly bad game by Miami. And then Cooke had those huge explosive plays.

[00:51:11]

Jared Goff had 55 pass attempts, 307 yards, but threw Two picks. One of them was not his fault, in my opinion. It was a clear illegal contact on Jamison Williams, an anticipatory throw. Nothing on Goff for that. The second one was really bad, and it was in They were in their opponent's side, and it was a problem.

[00:51:33]

He also threw it to a defender one time where the defender dropped it.

[00:51:37]

Yeah, there was multiple should-have-been-picks.

[00:51:40]

Yeah, he's concerning to me. It's funny because he's got Arizona this next week. In Arizona, that seems like a really good matchup. No pass rush, not a great secondary.

[00:51:49]

In a dome.

[00:51:50]

In a dome. And I'm like, I got to press pause. But is that wrong?

[00:51:55]

Pause is the right word. When you throw for 307 yards, he's going to get into the end zone. Lepore hasn't scored. Amun Ra, he should be healthy. I would press pause. If you've been buried twice, no need to go back and let him do it to you again.

[00:52:13]

Andy, just Please don't make him a start of the week this week. I won't. Okay, good.

[00:52:18]

Hopefully, that wasn't implying that I did this.

[00:52:21]

No, this was implying that Mike had him as week one. I had him as week two. I will not do it. Don't complete the trifecta because- It should work.

[00:52:29]

It should work, though. Hey, guess what? Anthony Richardson. Hey, how are we doing, everybody?

[00:52:33]

The orb that Andy looked into, it was a little bit fuzzy, apparently. But yes. It was pretty close. It was pretty close. It was pretty freaking close of the Green Bay packers taking care of the Indianapolis Colts, where Malik Willis completed 12 passes for 122 yards with a countdown. That's the winning quarterback.

[00:52:57]

The fact that The packers were able to just run the ball into infinity. That was the recipe.

[00:53:07]

I know. I thought Anthony Richardson could do enough. We know what the packers are going to do. You don't know what the Colts are going to do. They could surprise you with some things, but it was just a disaster.

[00:53:23]

I had tremendous trust in the packers coaching staff to prepare them at home against a player that I'm viewing as a rookie in the NFL who looked like a rookie in this game. Anthony Richardson made all the plays that a rookie makes, which means you have a couple of good plays. You threw three interceptions. It could have been five, it could have been six.

[00:53:42]

He also fumbled the ball twice. So this was a- Only ran for 37 yards. Yeah, it was a really, really bad game. You were negative for most of the game with his fantasy points. At the very end, had a drive that helped you fantasy-wise. I mean, he's a bust in total fantasy points, and you're lucky that he scored that many.

[00:54:02]

50 % completion rate. So we're two weeks in. You don't generally finish in the top 12 if you can't get your completion percentage. At least get it to 59, 60 %. Yeah.

[00:54:16]

He's going to be an incredibly boom, bust quarterback. Yeah.

[00:54:20]

What are you feeling like after two weeks?

[00:54:22]

You said the potential- Yeah, I have him. He's my League of record.

[00:54:24]

Are you just locking him in still? No, no, no, no.

[00:54:27]

I don't think so. I mean, for instance, the next two weeks, it Chicago and Pittsburgh. Those are unbelievable defenses. Those are top six defenses.

[00:54:36]

Is that a bench?

[00:54:37]

It just depends on who you have. I've got Brock Purdy, and I think Brock Purdy is a nice, safe start if there's a better match up. Baker?

[00:54:44]

The top two, Baker and Carr?

[00:54:46]

Yeah. I think you need to have someone else on your roster if you've got Anthony Richardson, so you could try to play the right matchups.

[00:54:54]

Patrick Mahomes, two picks. Not a big fantasy day, again, continuing the rhythm of last year, although this would be your buy opportunity, in my opinion. Atlanta, Los Angeles on the road the next two weeks. Those are not going to be easy.

[00:55:06]

It should be a buy-low moment for Patrick Mahomes. But we had a buy-low moment last year, and you just kept waiting. When is Mahomes going to do Mahomes-y and things? The second half was a disaster for fantasy for Mahomes. Because I agree that this is the moment that you could go get Mahomes, and things could turn around. But what is your real confidence in that actually happening? It's been a while for Mahomes for fantasy purposes.

[00:55:40]

Yeah, I mean, losing Pacheco hurts the offense as a whole, but it certainly means that he's going to be passing it a ton. He's going to be dropping back a lot. I do think they have better weapons than they've had. R ushy Rice is legit, had some downfield action. Xavier worthy has speed that can break things open in every play.

[00:55:57]

I'm starting to feel the opposite of The opposite of what? That they have better weapons.

[00:56:03]

Then last year?

[00:56:05]

Because if Kelsey has taken a significant step back, athleticly- He's not a part of the offense. And isn't a part of the offense, tell me that you draft Xavierworthy, and then you lose Kelsey for all intents and purposes in the offense, and you lose Pacheco, who's a pass catching weapon, all of a sudden, you're saying... Xavier worthy was used this past weekend to take end-around screens for the game. Roshie Rice is an awesome player, but he has I'm not, Tyreek Hill or A. J. Brown. I do not think he has... And then Hollywood's gone?

[00:56:35]

I'm certainly not.

[00:56:36]

I don't think he's got better weapons right now.

[00:56:38]

I'm certainly not saying he's got better weapons than the old days of the Tyreek and Kelsey. But last year, the MVS and Skymore, and I do think these are better weapons. I don't think Kelsey is... I don't know why they're not using him that much. He was wide open in the back of the end zone on a play. He still finds the right spots.

[00:56:58]

I would rather have Kelsey than Xavier worthy in the offense.

[00:57:04]

Sure. Just a reminder of last year, Kelsey was above... Let me make sure which scoring format I am. I'm in a four-point passing-touchdown He was over 20 points four times. Mahomes. Mahomes was. He was a top five quarterback two times.

[00:57:24]

He had one explosive game. I'm not doing the buy low. I'm playing it neutral. I'm playing it even.

[00:57:31]

I don't think it's a bad investment, an action you could take with your team that could turn into a huge windfall for your fantasy team. But I think it's a little sketchy.

[00:57:45]

Losing Pacheco does not help them. No, it doesn't. He may have to throw it five more times, but he may get staffed five more times. They should go get somebody at running back. Leonard Fournet is out there, right?

[00:58:00]

Leonard Fournet would help this team tremendously. I think they... Samajay P. Ryan is their Leonard Fournet. They chose him over Leonard.

[00:58:10]

Yeah, but that's because he was going to come in and play a third down role. A complementary. I would not be shocked if you heard some names getting worked out in Kansas City because Carson Steal, the fullback, is not an answer. People are worried about Dak. Should they be worried about Dak?

[00:58:27]

I don't think they should be worried about Dak. Obviously, week one, it was ironic because they had two blowouts. This is what they did last year, too. One was a win, one was a loss. Against Baltimore this next week at home, I think it'll be fine. I'm not worried about Dak.

[00:58:45]

C. J. Stroud, they won the ball game. But from a fantasy perspective, C. J. Stroud was middle of the pack?

[00:58:52]

Watching that game yesterday, and I messaged in Slack, so I want to get your guys just, What did you think of the game? And it's all anecdotal, but I was watching this game going, Man, Caleb Williams is not getting anything done. I know he's under duress all the time, but even when he's seemingly not, it didn't feel like Caleb Williams was playing a very good game. I'm like, C. J. Stroud, he looks fantastic. It was 16 to 10.

[00:59:18]

That's a good defense. That's what it does, a good defense.

[00:59:21]

But I'm saying I felt like Stroud was playing well, and they still weren't putting up points. It was just this strange situation of a one-score game. I'm thinking one quarterback is playing terribly, and the other one's playing great, but it's just a one-score game.

[00:59:35]

Running back duds. Rashaud White had five receiving yards in this game. He went out injured. I made him my parte parlay And it was the least receiving yards he's had in his last 20 games. 20 game. And so that was crazy.

[00:59:54]

He did have a groin injury scared. He did go back in the game.

[00:59:59]

He was a huge bust in this game.

[01:00:01]

He did go back in the game. But opportunity-wise, where are you at? Because you were the most, Rashaud White will still get everything. Is that confidence still strong, or is it wavering?

[01:00:14]

This was a game that he was shut down by a run defense we know is dominant. They won the ball game. Seven carries for Bucky Irving for 22. That's not special. Ten for 18 for Rashaud White. That's even worse. And one target to the running back. This is just an outlier game. Okay. Not an outlier is the putrid, abysmal, incredibly ugly performances of DeAndre Swift. And let me tell you something. He's so bad. I went into last night, Basically, in our League of Records, heads up, Mixin versus DeAndre Swift. I lost Mixin in the game with two quarters of Swift left, basically, a quarter and a half. I all but was positive. It's It wasn't over. A couple of dump offs in garbage time. It wasn't over. 14 for 18 for DeAndre Swift. The offensive line is not playing favorites when it comes to who it doesn't open holes for or protect.

[01:01:14]

Well, if you look at Swift and his value last year, he was running from wide open holes. He had the most yards before contact, and he's very fast. He is not very good.

[01:01:27]

He's not very strong either.

[01:01:28]

Every single time they handed him the ball, it was basically wasting a play. It was like, Okay, we're going to delete first and 10.

[01:01:36]

But often making second down even further back.

[01:01:40]

24 for 48 on the year.

[01:01:42]

Yeah, two yards of carry. I mean, you got to start. I honestly think that they would be better off handing the ball to Khalil Herbert. You're done, right?

[01:01:51]

He looked a little bit better.

[01:01:53]

He is better. He's just a better- Those are the worst when you have a guy in your team, but then you feel like you got to add somebody in free agency because you got a ton of money.

[01:02:01]

You go and you do it, and then you're stuck playing the player you don't believe in.

[01:02:06]

Betsey on the Dynasty podcast called... Before the season, he said DeAndre Swift was going to be this year's Miles Sanders.

[01:02:13]

Oh, it feels exactly like that.

[01:02:15]

You go out, you get the bag, you have the team give you money right away. They went after them. Yeah, they did. But they're just not very good.

[01:02:24]

That is a red alert for DeAndre because they will bring other players in. They're going to start to compliment him more. You saw more of Herbert last night than the day before.

[01:02:33]

Yeah, Chuba ended up taking over as the season went along because he was better than Miles Sanders.

[01:02:38]

Zack Moss and Chase Brown are still not going to help your fantasy team.

[01:02:42]

Jack Moss was 80% of the snaps.

[01:02:44]

It was, again-You can play him against Washington next week?

[01:02:47]

Oh, for sure. Okay. Yes. Zack Moss is still the leader.

[01:02:52]

Zeke and Doudal both basically split snaps and also left early.

[01:02:58]

Dautil started.

[01:02:59]

Yeah, Doudal started the game. Deuce Vawn got involved. He didn't get a bunch of opportunities, but he was taking snaps. And then Zeke came in. If Deuce Vawn is really part of the plan, this is an absolute disaster of whoever gets the rushing shutdown that week, it's fine.

[01:03:20]

This is why I'm not concerned about Dak. Sure. Because they're going to throw the ball.

[01:03:26]

They can't run. Why did Jerome Ford get seven carries He's no clue. And Deontae Forman get 14 when Ford was seven for 64.

[01:03:34]

Well, Ford had a huge run that juiced up those numbers. But Deontae Forman was... He had more carries. Maybe they just prefer Deontae Forman. Now, this is like a red alert. For you it is? Yeah, because Jerome Ford's entire fantasy purpose for us was he was the entire workload for the Cleveland Browns. If you can't be sure that's going to happen, then he is a very sketchy play.

[01:04:01]

There are a lot of running back names that were sketchy moving forward in that group.

[01:04:05]

Yeah, especially considering you don't project Jerome Ford to have the goal line opportunities. If he's not starting the game, if it's for him, then that's tough.

[01:04:15]

We're running pretty long here on today's episode, so I want to read you some wide receiver duds, and I want you to tell me, Worried? Not worried. Okay? Let's play some, Worried? Not worried. Jamar Chase.

[01:04:25]

Not worried.

[01:04:26]

Garrett Wilson. Worried.

[01:04:27]

Annoyed.

[01:04:29]

Okay. I don't think he's that dude.

[01:04:32]

He did have a couple of plays in the game that were really good, but yeah, maybe you're right. Mike Evans, worried, not worried.

[01:04:38]

Just real quick. That was Lejarious Sneed. 76% of the routes that Wilson ran, he was covered by Sneed. We knew this was a possibility. I'm not worried. I'm not in worried yet. I'm just annoyed.

[01:04:52]

Mike Evans, not worried. No. Dj Moore.

[01:04:55]

Yeah, worried.

[01:04:56]

He was so frustrated. He seemed I think he was frustrated at Caleb. Yes.

[01:05:02]

The concern is not with DJ Moore, the player. The concern is with the Bear's offense, and rookie quarterbacks looking like rookie quarterbacks.

[01:05:10]

The number one name that people submitted for Monday Pundae was Taintdale by far. When I was going through the submissions. We had Stankdell. We had a lot of different names, even ones that Jason made up. And one for negative three through the air in this game.

[01:05:28]

He had four targets, which you would want to see more. This is obviously good defense. One of those targets was, man, probably a 50-yard countdown down the seam if he catches the ball and he dropped it. So that was really upsetting.

[01:05:45]

George Pickens against Sertan. Not worried. No. Brandon Ayou, 4 for 43. I am going to go not worried.

[01:05:52]

I'm going to say I am annoyed. Brock Purdy has not looked great. I know he had 300 yards and a passing touch down, he did not look good to me. They were trailing like the whole game, so that's how he got to the 300 yards. But I think that that will balance out, and it'll be okay.

[01:06:13]

Worried, not worried?

[01:06:14]

I think it'll take a couple more weeks. So I'm not worried long term.

[01:06:22]

And then the veterans who are number one targets but have been disappointing, Amari Cooper, worried, not worried?

[01:06:29]

I am A little worried.

[01:06:31]

Michael Pitman.

[01:06:32]

Super worried.

[01:06:33]

Terry McLaren.

[01:06:34]

Very worried. Yeah, super worried. Courtland Sutton. I mean, Courtland Sutton, Terry McLaren, Michael Pitman, and Mario Cooper, they're number ones for bad offenses, and it's not working out. I feel like I would rather have number twos for great offenses than number ones for bad offenses.

[01:06:52]

So I guess categorizing Cleveland as a bad offense, is that where you're at right now?

[01:06:56]

Yeah. I mean, I guess they're more middle the pack. They aren't straight up bad, but he'll have good games. We talked about him earlier. He'll have good games this season. He is earning the targets, but he's not doing anything with it.

[01:07:11]

The week against the Giants coming up, that's going to be a huge moment. Litmus test? Yeah, huge moment for the Browns and Amari Cooper. If Cooper comes out and has another 40 yards or whatever, I will be at red alert.

[01:07:24]

40 would be great. He hit 11 this week.

[01:07:27]

I'm saying if you only get to 40 against the Giants, That ain't it.

[01:07:32]

Lad McConkey, 2 for 26. I don't think you're going to be able to start Lad McConkey this year.

[01:07:36]

Oh, I definitely think you'll be able to start Lad McConkey this year. I told everyone to not start him this game anyways.

[01:07:44]

I don't think you're ever going to be able to start him.

[01:07:45]

Yeah, where are you? Pittsburgh, Kansas City.

[01:07:47]

He only played 49% of snaps. His yardage, you got 39 and 26 yards. I don't think he's ever going to factor into this offense to any focal point.

[01:07:59]

Yeah, He'll in the year as their number one target.

[01:08:02]

What does that mean?

[01:08:02]

That means that you'll have plenty of times that you can start him. I mean, Carolina, we knew that this was going to happen. We talked about it before. I know Quentin got two touch downs in this game because he just was found wide open in the end zone. But it was like, this was the prescription the whole time. They're going to be up so much. They're going to run the ball 17 and 18 carries for two different runningbacks. You were never going to pass the ball much. You don't even need to be on the field or throwing throwing the ball. So that's what happens against Carolina over and over and over.

[01:08:33]

Yeah, they didn't throw it against Las Vegas either.

[01:08:36]

Yeah, it's just a matter of what the game script is going to be. If you think they're going up against a team that's going to put a lot of points on them, then I'm fine starting McConkey. If you think they're going up against a team where it's going to be a low-scoring run both teams, then bench them. That's how I view it.

[01:08:51]

Christian Kirk, one for negative one. That one's red. We disagree on the wide receivers in Los Angeles.

[01:08:56]

Christian Kirk is a red alert. He's done. I I thought after... He wasn't to advise you to play Christian Kirk, but it's, Keep your eye on it, because with Evan Engram out, Christian Kirk should be able to establish more of a role in that area since him and Engram play complementary roles of, actually not caught. The similar roles. So the fact that that's what we got is rough.

[01:09:20]

He managed to be worse than week one by a lot. And week one, he had one catch. Travis, Kelsey, Sam Laporta, Mark Andrews, Andrews was 4 for 51. I wouldn't put them in the dud category.

[01:09:33]

I'm not worried about Andrews. He was 27 of the 37 Lamar dropbacks.

[01:09:37]

He also got missed on a monster potential countdown. So I- Ran more routes than Isiah, likely.

[01:09:44]

I don't want this to turn into just we're apologizing for Mark Andrews every single week, but two weeks in, this seems to have corrected itself. Kelsey is...

[01:09:56]

That one is absolutely baffling.

[01:09:59]

They fixed his contract, right? They did something with his contract. They did. Of getting him more money. And he is, as of right now, not... It's not that he's not the And the vocal point is that he's barely involved in the offense.

[01:10:17]

During the second half of last year, when he was much, much worse than his fire start, he was playing 67, 60 % of snaps, 71 % of snaps. He played 91 % of the snaps in this game.

[01:10:28]

It's Very strange.

[01:10:31]

Dalton Kincaid, 4 for 33 on Thursday night football.

[01:10:34]

That's part of the bills thing.

[01:10:36]

The fact that he got- came out with his head need.

[01:10:39]

Yeah, and he got two passes early. They were going to start getting him going. That game goes in the garbage for me.

[01:10:45]

We'll watch Kyle Pitz tonight and see what he can do. Dallas Goddard on the field without A. J. Brown tonight. I know you guys are in a match.

[01:10:50]

Dallas Goddard under four points, everybody.

[01:10:52]

Dallas Goddard over four points, everybody. Choose your side.
