Hey, it's your friend Mel. And if you struggle with overth, like I used to struggle with overth, you got to stop constantly talking about or thinking about or worrying about your problems. Because talking and thinking about what's wrong, it actually makes your problems bigger, and it makes you feel smaller, and it makes them seem more serious. In fact, rumination, which is dwelling on what's wrong, is a symptom of depression. So you got to take this seriously. The fact is, you always have power. In any situation, based situation, based on your attitude and your actions, you can improve things by what you think and do. And one of the most important things to improve is not allowing yourself to think about your problems. Interrupt that stuff, and here's how I do it. I just do something physical. If I catch myself ruminating, or worrying, or stressing, or talking about it, I just get out the door, I go for a walk, I run an errand. Doing something physical interrupts the mental. And that will give you a moment of control to choose what you think about next.
