I'm Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief John Bickley. It's Friday, June 21st, and this is your Morning Wire Afternoon Update. Two men from Venezuela have been arrested and charged with the murder of a 12-year-old girl in a Houston neighborhood. Houston Police say the two men were seen speaking to the girl at a nearby convenience store on surveillance video shortly before her murder. The New York Post reports that one of the suspects crossed into the country illegally just last month, and he claimed that he was afraid to return to his country. The girl's body was found by a neighbor in a nearby creek. Her mother, Alexis Nungari, spoke to reporters.

[00:00:54]

She was an amazing little girl. Amazing. I was so excited to see the woman she was going to turn into. I always knew God had other plans for her. She meant to be here. She's supposed to be here.

Also in Colorado last week, a 64-year-old father and grandfather was killed by an illegal immigrant from Mexico who has been deported 16 times. 47-year-old Ignacio Cruz Mendoza flipped the truck he was driving on top of five other vehicles, killing Scott Miller. The suspect was charged with vehicular homicide, driving a commercial vehicle with no qualifications and reckless driving. He was first arrested in 2002 for drug trafficking. Ice has filed a detainer on the suspect, ordering local authorities to hold him. The victim's daughter, Michelle Tousa, remembered her father fondly.

[00:01:46]

He was just young. He was only 64. I just want everybody to know my dad was fun. He was an awesome dad. He was an awesome grandfather. He left behind a grand son and a granddaughter, and they miss him. We're all going to miss him.

In a new investigation, the Wall Street Journal found that Instagram continues to recommend sexual content to users as young as 13. Daily Wire investigative reporter Mareida Lordy has more.

[00:02:19]

The journal and a Northeastern professor created accounts listing the owner age as 13. Users were immediately shown content of sexy dancing or seductive poses. Users who watched the Reels were shown adult sex content within three minutes. In less than 20 minutes, they were offered nude photos. Similar tests of TikTok and Snapchat did not produce sexualized content. Even adult content on TikTok was less sexual than that found on Instagram reels for Teens. Metta Spokes, Andy Stone, said the investigation does not match the reality of how teens use Instagram.
