Just outside Atlanta, Georgia.

[00:00:03]

Merry Christmas. How are.

[00:00:07]

You all doing tonight? The Spirit of Christmas is once again burning bright at the home of Gwen and Mike Gatti. Their dazzling drive-through display...

[00:00:17]

That was so long. We're so glad.

[00:00:19]

You're back.... Bringing holiday joy to this community for 36 years.

[00:00:24]

We actually start the first week in August.

[00:00:29]

We try to add something every year. Hi, teacher, Belle.

[00:00:33]

But this season's beloved tradition... Let it go, let it go, let it go. Almost didn't happen. Over the summer, the barn where they stored their massive Christmas decoration collection, burned down. Decades of memories gone. I wonder what the feelings were as you're standing there watching your barn.

[00:00:52]

Burn up. It was hard. He looked at me and he said, I don't think we can do it.

[00:00:58]

But within days, neighbors, friends, even total strangers started donating lumber, lights, and hundreds of boxes filled with new decorations.

[00:01:08]

It was a continuous flow for about a week and a half of about 50 packages a day. I think Amazon thought, What is going on here?

[00:01:18]

It was amazing how the people that have been coming to our display for the 35 years, they stepped up and they said, We want this display to continue.

[00:01:29]

I'm.

[00:01:32]

Sorry. I get emotional when I talk about it because it's just so humbling.

[00:01:37]

I can hear, Gwen. I can hear the emotion in your voice.

[00:01:40]

I feel blessed. I love.

[00:01:42]

The snowflakes. I'm so glad those were donated. Heather Tromkey, who's been visiting since she was a kid, started a gift registry for the Gattys. I knew that I could help out. I'm just humble to be a small part of the big story here. Merry Christmas. Now, thanks to the kindness of this community, half a million points of light and love are shining once again.

[00:02:04]

It's just amazing. You don't realize how many wonderful people there are in this world. What do you.

[00:02:10]

Think this says about the world?

[00:02:13]

I don't know how many more years. The Lord has given me to be on this earth, but I'm going to keep the Christmas decorations going until I die.

[00:02:24]

The Gattys say it takes them until at least February to pack everything up every year, and they're going to keep doing this as long as they can.
