In a plate, are we? Am I? I think it's said, I think it's logical. What how don't you find?

[00:00:21]

Are we?

[00:00:22]

Am I? This time was by, I'll be your simple way. Should I do you mind? Oh, we am I. I'm finding for love. I'm finding for love.

[00:00:40]

Arraise the Earth and see my way.

[00:01:18]

I'm fighting for love. I'm fighting for love.

[00:01:20]

I'll raise the Earth and see my willingness. I'm fighting for love. I'm fighting for love. I'll raise the Earth and see my willingness. I'm not afraid how to get your head. You took a fall. I'm not afraid of you. I'm not afraid of you. How did you say this love is dead? Oh. This love is staring, staring, staring. What's going What's going on, everybody? It's Saturday night, and we are getting ready for game 6 of the Oilers versus the Vancouver Knucks. Kelly Rudi just said a minute ago that he thinks that we're going for game 7. My question to you is, do you think we're going for game 7? If you're a Knux fan, I would assume not. I would assume not. If you're an Oilers fan, you're thinking, damn, we're really going to start Stuart Skinner, huh? Okay. All right. All right. Let's see what happens. I guess nothing to lose, right? Except for everything. Then we're on Leon to watch, and we don't want to do that. I have to tell you, been trying to log in to Rogers's Ignite TV to watch this, but it's not letting me because there's a cache issue.

[00:03:58]

Clear your browser cache. It's not even the good cash either. So I'm going to be watching on Sportsnet+ for, at very least, the first part of the intermission, because I'll be honest with you guys, I'm not sure why Rogers United isn't working. So it means I am going to be about a minute behind The Action, because as you know, the Sportsnet Now app is always behind the action. That's exactly where you want to be in sports, just behind The Action, right? So good evening. I hope everybody's having a good one. Let's get into it. How was your day today? How is your long weekend going? Are you enjoying? What do we do with the family? Got to know. Got to know what's happening. What's going on? Tell me in the chat. Tell Steve you need a raise. Will we finally get some gripper content today? No, listen, you want gripper content, you got to get to a thousand likes. We haven't got there. So you got to work for that. You got to work for these grips. You know what I'm saying? That's all I'm saying. Alberta pure vodka, better than Gray Goosen, five times cheaper.

[00:05:02]

What were you guys talking about before I got here? Oh, Jesse Blake is in the chat. What's up, Jesse Blake? All those hardworking construction workers. How does the hiring of Craig Berube for the Toronto Maple Heaps affect the landscape of Major League Hockey, my bet is to have it affect Major League Hockey, we'd have to have Major League Hockey. And that's still, from what I understand, from what I've heard, very much up in the air. I don't know. 1:00 AM in the UK. I am struggling. Welcome, Kieran. I think we have somebody from Sweden here. Oh, hello from Switzerland. Did you see what happened to Toronto's PWhL team? Yes. I prefer not to talk about it. Why would I want to talk about that? We could have had a Toronto-Boston final. We were robbed yet again. You wait till Natalie Spooner gets back. Adam, there has been a thousand likes in the series. No, it's per game. You want gripper content. It's got to be... Listen, I'll get the pedicure ready to go. I'll make them look nice. I'll shine them up. But not going to happen. Not going to happen. Who's sailing the seven Cs there?

[00:06:23]

Hey, Adam, will you guys be doing watchalongs for the conference final series? Yes, we will. I believe Steve is doing the East Coast, and I am doing the West Coast. So with one of these two teams, I am continuing on. Right now, Knucks are the closest. Phil DiGiuseppe is in the chat. Yeah, Phil DiGiuseppe. Yeah, buddy. Now, let's talk about this game a little bit. To producer Hayden's little stat pack here is, as you know, the greatest. The Knucks are four for six in their last six elimination games. That's dating back to 2020 versus Vegas. That's not bad. Latest game-winning goals in regulation in Knux playoff history. So JT Miller was the second latest game-winning goal in Knux playoff history. Stan Smeal did it against the flames with 57 seconds left to go in '83. Then JT Miller. And then, can you name the number one? If you're a real Knux fan, you'll know this. Raphie Torres versus the Bruins, 19 seconds to go. That'd be the 2011 Stanley Cup finals. All right, let me get some score predictions in the chat here. What do we got going on? What do we think? What do we think?

[00:07:36]

What do we think? Eileen McCown, what's a griffer? Oh, Eileen, get ready. Leif Opestad, Adam, not sure if you follow golf, but have you seen the Scottie Scheffler stuff? Yes, I have. And boy, oh, boy. He put on a pretty good couple of rounds, all that. If I'd been arrested, I think I would have been like, maybe this isn't my weekend. I don't know if I would... Well, maybe I would play. If you're a lunatic golfer, crazy person like he is, it's pretty amazing what he's done. Although I didn't actually see the full scores from today's round. So maybe he had a terrible round. Maybe he's devastated. I don't know. It doesn't seem like him, does it? Okay, we got the scores in the chat. 4-2, Nucs. 4-3, Nucs, 2-1, Vancouver, game winner, JT Miller. Yeah, give me your game winners, too. Give me your game winners. 7-6, Oilers. 4-2, Van. 2-1, Van. From Edwin Bear. Super chat. Adam, did your radio career have any sports play calling before Sdpn. It did not. It did not. I've never been trained to do any of this. Maybe you can tell. That's why I don't narrate the entire game.

[00:08:58]

I figured you can see it with your eyes. I just want to chat. I got to talk about Stuart Skinner for a moment, because let's just go over the records here in the playoff. Skinner and Shvilow have the same record. They're both five and three. They both have one shutout. And that's where it ends. Shilovs is a 907 save percentage. Skinner is a 877. Sheilovs is a 262 goals against average. Skinner is a 322. Edmonton fans, I got to ask. I was real surprised when I saw that Calvin Pickerb was coming out. I didn't feel like any of the goals last game were really and truly his fault. I didn't think he played bad. I thought they played great in front of him. Are you concerned or do you think that him going in is the right call? Because I'm looking at this as an outsider, and I'm an outsider of both teams on this series, and I'm thinking, that doesn't make a lot of sense. Obviously, you Don't ride and die by your guy, but just wondering. Just wondering. Seems a bit weird to me. Seems a bit strange. Justin Fisher just sent me the...

[00:10:11]

By the way, Justin is running the chat tonight. 68% of people in the chat, and there were 400 votes, say, Vancouver wins tonight. And is Jeff Skinner the reason? We have to ask that question. Kyle Grant, Adam, I think we were promised the clock tonight. You were promised a clock. And producer Drew said, It's too hard. And so what I would say to you is blame producer Drew. Send him your angry tweets, you know how to find them. And tell him that you'll riot if he doesn't get you a clock for the conference finals. Tell him it's Drew's fault. Tell him Adam sent you. I got to wake up. Just had a coffee. It's going to fire me up. By the way, it's so nice not to do this at 10:00 at night. 8:16 The sun is up. It's beautiful. It's Saturday in Toronto, and I get to watch two other teams play hockey and not the Toronto Mapleeefs because I am a little sad. Don't worry, I'm broken on the inside. I'm here to cheer you both on because I'm sad. Justin says, Adam, want to play a game. Pick a player from both teams.

[00:11:18]

If either player scores a goal, I will gift dropped 10 subs. Okay, tonight is the Night of Stars. I'm not going... Here we go. Game started, by the way. They obviously didn't show the face off because they never do. Don't understand that, but I'll say this. I'm going to go JT Miller for the Vancouver Knux. And you know who's been real quiet for the Edmonton Oilers? Connor McDavid. Now Chris Nobleck, the very the worried resting face Chris Nobleck, did say that it would be inaccurate to say that McDavid hasn't played well in this series. He did not mention what would be accurate. And I don't like to take shots at the King, but you need the King to be the King, right? So we'll see what happens tonight. Here comes Darnal Nurse through center against Ronick. Good little soft by Sheiloff, his first of the game. Hyman in deep, McDavid Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, noticeably. We got Leon Dreisaitl on the second line, and that's for match-up purposes more than anything, because you know that you're going to see Leon and Connor play together a lot. But Leon, it's good to spread them out because the Vancouver Knux a good job of making all three of their first lines, or their first three lines, excuse me, really good last game.

[00:12:37]

They really took advantage of the matchups. And I think if you can have Connor against one line and Leon against another, you're expecting that you're going to be on offense a lot. So we'll see what happens. All right. So that's what I'm going. Who's your first goal pick? Give me your first goal pick. You won Adam, abs loss. Hope you're happy. Listen, you think you have me? You think you underestimate Adam Wild and his predictions? Dallas is a better team. They just are. But I do want to say, producer Drew was wrong about the avalanche against the Jets. He shockingly picked the Jets. Oh, dry sidle is already in the box, baby. And they kicked the Jets ass. But then, of course, you run into Dallas, and at this point, oh, yeah, that is Leon Dreisaddle for sure. That's a penalty. See, Leon Dreisetel's problem is that he has not gifted enough autograph sticks to the refs. If that was Brad Marshan, no way that's a call. No way. But Brad plays the game. He autografts sticks for the kids of the refs. We'll let it go in the playoffs, allegedly. I'm kidding. I don't actually I know that he does that.

[00:14:01]

I think that happens, though. Alexia Cee, Nurse is washed. I don't think Nurse is washed. I think he's perhaps not the player that everybody thought he was. But for me, Darnell Nurse, as long as he's not playing with Cody Ceeci, still useful. Is he $9.25 million? I don't think so. But he's certainly not as bad as he was. Remember, Edmondson had some pretty solid defensive games in this series, specifically game four. And I just love, by the way, Vinnie D. Arnay and Darnell Ners, two giants out there. It's a fun pair to watch. The Puck moving is not the greatest, but they're big. And sometimes that's all that matters against a team like the Knux. We're not big. Garland behind the net. 17:08 left. The Knux finally gets set up on this power play. Pp2 out there. Besser. You know what? I misspoke there. That's PP1. With Conor Garland. So Linhole must have changed. That's what happened. Garland versus Vinnie Dajarnay right now is amazing. Vinnie Dajarnay has got one hand, and he's like, No, I don't think so. The size differential between those two players is crazy. How tall do they claim Connor Garland actually is?

[00:15:39]

Okay, I'm checking this. Is it 5'8? Oh, he's 5'10. Right. Like, I'm 6 feet. I'm 5'11. Jt Miller in the box. We got... So did Yanmark get it, too? Yeah. Okay. That makes sense. I don't know that JT Miller should have had too much of a penalty there. Like, Janmark gloves them, I guess. I wouldn't give them, either of them a penalty for that. What's the point? It didn't affect play. It's the playoffs. The reps have been confusing to watch this series. I got to be honest. I don't know. Would you have given that? Scott Whaler, Garland, openly says he's 5'8. I I love this. They drop the buck, and then they call it back and say, no, wait, I didn't. There should be no take sees, back sees. Once the linesman drops it, that should be it. All right, here we go. 16:57. Oh, my God. Drop the fuck. Drop it. Finally. And Jacoja Joshua wins it, too. Thank God. Skinner out a little bit of his net. Oh, Connect can't I'm not going to take advantage. I thought the fuck had gotten out of the zone. It turned out it was just my mouse.

[00:17:26]

Miller not willing to be messed with. Yes, am I I'm still using Sportsnet? I am. I tried to use the Rogers Ignite app, and it was like, I don't think so. It's just great. It's fantastic. I don't understand. All right, so good kill for Edmondson there. Vancouver doesn't register a single shot. They still have not had a shot in the game. Really good shot. And this is the thing, an early power play can be devastating if you let in the goal. But if you You have a good kill like Edmondson just did, that's a little bit of motivation. Plus, then you get your best players out there. They're fired up. Legs are fresh. Mcdavid and drysaddle haven't skated in over two minutes. There's drysaddle with a hit on Myers. Edmondson fans. If drysaddle breathes right now, Edmondson fans are going to stand up and cheer. That's the fan support you want. A little bit of a sneaky one by Tyler Myers there. I'm looking at the chat here. Adam's secretly sailing the seven seas. No, I am using the Sportsnet app. I am 100 % using it. It's actually on the TV below you. That's why I'm always looking down like this, not looking directly at the camera all the time.

[00:18:48]

I'm also looking down at my TV screen or my computer screen reading this. What is surprising is that Everton didn't come out and dominate the first 10 minutes. Dude, they did in They did in game four and Game 5. They really did. You'd think with the fan support, they would. Been a bit of a slow moving first period, even with that penalty. Okay, we got Vancouver's second shot there, not much of one. Zdorow gloves it at the blue line, and only a guy who's 6-7 could pick that up. It's Connor Garland with a steal. Dude, he's been so good in this series. So good. Bluger, Garland, Zdorow at the point. Hits Joshua in the face, almost in the face. Jesse, can you tell us a history corner about the seven Cs? Not currently. So would that be an Internet piracy history corner, or would that just be a straight up piracy history corner? Because actually, you know that the Star-Spangled Banner mentions pirates in it, and people don't even know the reference. Just throwing that out there. Jesse's not even a member. Wow, that's true. Jesse, what is that? Jesse, are you not a VIP guy?

[00:20:33]

Excited for the ref conversation on the next pod. Michael, I thank you for being a VIP, by the way. Let me just say this. No, no more ref conversations. I would like to talk about hockey. Or I like hockey. All right. 13:56 left in the first period. All right. Got to be honest with you, I thought there would be more fireworks in the first 10 minutes of this period, and I'm a little upset there isn't. Thirteen, 17. Evan Bouchard, behind the net. Wow, you know what this feels like? I could put my finger on it, but now I got it. This feels like Nashville. This feels boring like Nashville right now. And I think I know why. It's game six. Nobody wants to let in the first goal. So both teams are being boring. I'll just I'll simply not be exciting. So is Yahn Marks off the bench, I'm assuming, right? He's in the dressing room. Do you think he got hurt? Okay, here we go. 12:15 in the first. Todd Colson out front. That was good-looking. That was good. That's what you need your fourth-line guy to do. Hyman knocked down by Seuss. He only was a little bumped there.

[00:22:57]

Todd Colson pushing Bouchard. Fourth-line is about It's going to change. Deharne and Bouchard are out there, so Deharne has got to change. Ekholm is going to take that. Oh, no, it's dry-sideal. Here we go. Oh, Holloway with a move. Scores. Baby, what a goal. Dylan Holloway. Man, there's the depth scoring that Edmondson has needed, and there's the excitement we needed because damn, the first eight minutes of this game were an absolute snore. Dylan Holloway changes that. Holy smokes. What What a goal. My microphone is not even working anymore. What a goal. That's a great breakout pass by Leon Dreisaiter, but a Hollow does. He breaks three Vancouver defenders. Nobody Got him. Ronick misses the swing, and he catches Shilov's moving right through the five hole. Oh, what a goal.

[00:23:58]

Wow.

[00:23:59]

Fantastic goal by Dylan Holloway. Not much the Knux could really do about that. Dylan Holloway only has two career goals in the playoffs, and they've all come this year. So that's his third goal in 10 games. He does not have any assists in these playoffs. 11 games, that's his third goal. And Leon Dreisaitl got an assist on that. That means he's had points in every single one of the Everton Oilers' playoff games. And what's hilarious about that is eight of those have been multi-point games. And who told me that? That's right. Producer Hayden in his stat pack. Leon Dreisaitl is like, if this continues, he's going to go down as one of the greatest playoff performers ever. Just consistent and amazing. Look at Teddy Bluger with the spinorama. Garland and Kulak in the near corner. Here we go. Oilers seem to have the ice tilted in their favor right now. This is where the oilers are going to get going here. If they can get a second goal here, the fans are going to be right into it. That barn is rocking already, and it will be loud, and it will be very hard for Vancouver to claw back Although they've already done it a couple of times in these series.

[00:25:32]

I don't know how many games they've scored the first goal, but I know Edmonton's had it more often. Even look at game five, it was Edmonton, then Van, and then Edmonton. And then it was Van Edmonton, wasn't it? Oh, here we go. Goal. Wow. That's a couple of minutes after the Dylan Hollowway goal, which was awesome. A nice, dirty area goal by a guy who needs one. You needed this. Hoaglander, big goal. Lynn Home-Pederson line. We'll see if Pederson gets an assist so the Vancouver media can get off his back a little bit here. But this is good playing right here. Hoaglander does the break in. Pederson down deep, gets it back out to Hoaglander. And that is just... Nobody's got him. What's McCloud doing there? We got to ask. Look, look, watch. You'll see it in just a second. Who's got him? You got Nurse there. Who's got him? That's McCloud's guy. You know what? I I'll even give you Vinnie D. Or Nez guy. Who's got him? See, that's what they call Puckwatching. And we're all guilty of it because we're human beings. You have to Find somebody. You have to grab somebody and go, That's my guy now.

[00:26:49]

Ners had the cut in from Patterson covered, as in, Patterson could not drive the net from that position because Ners was there and he's bigger. Mccloud has to have his guy, Vinnie Dernay. If McCloud McCloud doesn't have him, but he needs to. But yeah, I think that's McCloud's guy. Damn. All right. We got two goal after a really boring start. That's two goals within two minutes. I love that. I love that. Going with Skinner was definitely a choice. Listen, I don't blame Skinner for that at all, not even a a little bit, but I do agree. I didn't understand the skin or choice. The guy's got a sub-900 save percentage, and Calvin Pickard was really good when he needed to be, which wasn't much. It is sad to watch the absence of physicality. If you're not going to hit someone in the playoffs, ask for a change. Well, I'm not sure who could have hit who there that would have stopped that goal, unless you're just speaking about the series in general. But there have been some big hits in this series. I wouldn't say it's been the most physical series. There have been hits.

[00:28:07]

Big Hog has only scored five on five, and it has only scored Five on Five is not... I don't know what you're saying there, Ardun. Big Hog has only scored five on five, and it's not entirely bad thing. Are we into the drinks a little earlier? Remember the edibles a little earlier? No, there's anything that. It's Saturday night, baby. You do what you want to do. Domunki, $5 Super Chat. Thank you very much, by the way. Please, I don't want game seven. I don't think my heart can take the stress. The stria's. The stria's, the stress. Listen, I want you guys to understand this. The entire world wants a game seven. The entire world, the entire hockey world, wants this series to go to game seven. We'll see if the Knucks do, and we'll see if the Oilers do. We'll see. Everybody wants it. It's five o'clock, Adam. It's five o'clock. It's 5:30, actually, Blue-White flame in Edmonton, or is that Vancouver time? Edmonton's 2 hours, Vancouver time is 3 hours, right? So it's 6:30-ish. Here we go. 9:37 left. There's the face off. Again, Sportsnet does not show us the face off. They just show us McDavid's face.

[00:29:29]

9:30 We're left in the first period if you're trying to align streams here. I'm working on with my family how to get the better stream, the Rogers Ignite stream, and I think I got it figured out. So what's going to happen in the intermission is I am going to likely log in, and that's probably going to fast forward me about 45 seconds to a minute. So make sure if you're getting up and getting a drink in the intermission when we're playing clips, just make sure that you keep the volume on for me because we might be going back to the first period a little quicker. Espn feed is showing face offs. I don't know, guys. I don't know. There's Myers with a big shot. Oh, wow. Big chance there. Just missed out on by Suter. How many times I said that. Suter gets the juiciest chances. And it's not that he always screws them up or whatever, but he's always in a good spot. Oh, Susie just got... Susie just sold the Hunter McDavid, stick to the face. I'm not saying he didn't get it, but if he hadn't grabbed his face, the ref is not calling that.

[00:30:51]

You go back and you watch. The ref doesn't call it until Susie grabs his face. That's how you sell it. It's like Steve always says, When you get a big hit that's questionable, play dead. Act like you're dead. Act like it's the first time you've ever been hit. Yeah, that is absolutely a high stick, but the ref does not call it until he touches his face. Why did he... It's funny with McDavid. I don't know why he put it up there. Not sure what that was. To be honest, Vancouver's first power play was so bad that Edmondon not even mind this. But yeah. I don't think there's blood on it, guys. That's why it's not four minutes. It should be eight minutes of makeup for game two. I don't disagree on that. I Don't disagree on that. There's been some wonky calls in this series. There's no question. I'm not saying referees have it easy, but that's your job. You chose not to have an easy job, so do a better job. And I'm talking about going both ways. By the way, for everybody who thinks I'm taking shots at Sussi for selling a call, I'm not.

[00:32:10]

You have to sell a call in the NHL. Referees are human beings. If you don't react, they're going to miss things. So you have to do it. Adam, the leaves suck. Okay. Cool. Cool, man. I don't know how... Am I supposed to disagree with that? It's not been good. Mcdavid's high stick on Hughes was dirty. I don't know if it was dirty so much as it was stupid that it wasn't called because he was bleeding, and that would have changed the outcome of the game. Vancouver would have gone on a four-minute penalty right there, or four-minute power play right there. They could have scored. That might have been the game. Every game in this series has come down to one goal difference. By the way, everybody's saying, McDavid is dirty. Stop that. Stop that. Mcdavid is not dirty. It's just a high stick. I don't see McDavid dropping elbows into You guys skulls or nailing them from behind. But you do have to chirp each other. That's the job. Just don't make it personal, okay? This is my stream, and I want everybody to have a good time. Here we go. Bester across. Jt Miller, last night's hero.

[00:33:31]

Oh, good little play. Oh, Bederson almost had one, and so did Lindholm, and they both missed. Lindholman down to Miller. Oh, good break up there by Vinnie DeHarnay, the Seaweed Man. Still don't understand that one. By the way, thank you to everybody that's gifted subscriptions, Blue White flame and SKR 13. Skr 13 is trying to give subscriptions. I know why you're trying to do that. I know why you're doing that, SKR, because you're looking for good karma, aren't you? And you know what? We appreciate your good karma. I wish I could grant good karma. Connor Cahill, May 18th, My birthday. The Perfect Present, Knux silencing the ultimate critics and winning in six. Go, Knux, go. Oilers in six, they said, L-O-L. Actually, a lot of people were saying oilers in four. Canucks have been very, very good. Edwin Baer. I don't know how anybody possibly determines how to play in the playoffs. The rule book is determined by the refs mood. Yes, I think here's the problem with the reffing in the playoffs is that if it was consistently loose, then everybody be like, Okay, well, it's going to be loose, and we're going to get about 2-3 penalties a game, and blah, blah, blah, and you can predict that.

[00:34:47]

Because again, they're not reffing the game, they're managing the game. That's what they do. But that's not what's happened. By the way, we've been talking about a little bit on this stream. People were asking, Zdorov, what would he get on his next deal? And I was saying stuff like, would it be outrageous for seven million? Apparently, it would be. Because Frank Cervalli came out with a report today saying that Zdorov might get six times six, which I have to be honest. The thing about it is, I I know he's third pair, but can play top four minutes in a pinch, maybe because I'm used to terrible defense in Toronto, because we really do have bad defense. There's no way around it, with the exception of Morgan Reilly, Jake McKeeve, and Ben while we're good this year. But we don't have elite defense in Toronto, so I'm not used to watching it. A guy like Zdorow has looked really good in these playoffs. And if you're a contending team, getting a guy like that, he is a difference maker. And that's why I thought it was... I thought, I still feel like six million is low.

[00:36:04]

And here's the other comparable I would give you. So you got the cap going up twice in the next couple of years, at least, probably three times. I wouldn't be surprised. What are we, 83 and a half this year? Three years from now, we're going to be 93 to 94. That's what I think. So we talk about percentage of cap. So six million dollars is roughly what, eight or nine % of the cap right now? It's going to go down in the next few years down to about 6% of the cap. For a guy that's a third-pairing D, that's still a lot, right? But I don't know. Zdoroff has been... Can you call him an elite third-pairing? I don't know. I don't know. Zee should get five and a half times six, and Meyer should get four times four. Man, is that a Knuck fan? Wanting Tyler Meyer's back? Baby. Wow, that is surprising. Trueliving is going to give Zdora seven times nine million July first. I mean, listen, I think TrueLiving loves Zdorow type players, and I'll be honest, having a couple of them on the ice. Tyler Myers can't really isolate Tyler Myers anymore.

[00:37:21]

When you have Zdorow, you got two big Hawking scary defensemen. When you only have one, teams go, Okay, we'll play to that guy's weaknesses. But when you've got two, there's something about it. It's stupid. Listen, if this was a chart and you're a math nerd, and you're doing the hockey math stuff, it's not going to make sense. But just let's eye test this for a minute. Let's go bozo hockey for a second. When you have one tough guy on your team, super easy to isolate them, super easy for other teams to get under his skin and get him mad, and your teammates are not going to do anything. You got two of them, or three of them, or four of them, then it becomes, well, I don't want to mess with one because one of the other three or four might get me. And I'm not talking about tough guys that can't play hockey. I'm talking about players that can play. Myers has played good defense. I think his defense partner, Ian Cole, has let him down a little bit. I don't think there's a Knux fan out there who doesn't know that Ian Cole's had a nightmare series.

[00:38:24]

I think Myers is... I think he'll settle into being an average third-line defenseman who becomes more valuable in the playoffs because size becomes more valuable in the playoffs. And I think we know that. I don't know. It's just me. Zdorow and Myers, if they can keep both of those guys, and they can keep that number total under nine million bucks, let's say Zdorow for six, and let's say Myers for three, because that's what I think Myers is worth. I think I'd give Myers a hair less than Luke Shen. And Luke Shen got 3.25 million. It's an overpay for Shen, but I think it's fair. I don't know. I think you got some pretty solid pieces there. Again, the advanced stats guys are going to hate me for that. My favorite Adam moment. Adam in Devil's PJs on the SDP episode. You must bring those back at him. Does anybody want that? No. I don't know. Anybody wants to see this hot bot in those pajamas. Hawks three cups with just Seabrook for Big D. Yeah, but you had Duncan Keith, and I guess you also had big players up front. I'm not just talking about defensemen.

[00:39:39]

D Giuseppe in the corner. Speaking of players who are unsung, D Giuseppe. Also, Oilers fans, give Conor Brown some credit. The boy can still skate. If he can get his hands back, you might actually have a good player next year. You're paying him next year anyway. You may as well keep him on the roster. Nil Zammon, pushing Vinnie DeArne, and then he's getting off the ice. Again, this game has gone back to a little bit of a short, like a shoving match. Not any big hits, not any big plays. There's Carson Sussi dumping it in. The big boys for Vancouver are out there. Suter Besser, JT Miller, intercepted by Leon Dreisaitl. Dreisaitl making things happen, doesn't come up with the buck. Evander Cain hits Nikita Zdorow. Edmond to fail. What a set up by Cain. What a set up. And Dreisaitl just cannot finish. I don't know if Sheilov's got a piece of that. Oh, wow. That was the opportunity of a lifetime, and he just missed it. That's not something that Leon Dreisad is going to miss twice. Wow. Sean Merson was a shot-blocking beast for the Hawks. Yes, he was. How much time in the game?

[00:41:23]

I will get you that, by the way, in a few minutes here. Eshan, is Colton Parejko washed? No, I don't think he is washed. I think Colton Parejko is a very good hockey player on a team that is retooling, and maybe And every player needs this at one point in their career, unless you're very, very special. He might need a change of scenery. I don't know. To be honest with you, I don't have any insight on that. But I would say that Colton Parejko for years and years and years, has been an advanced stats darling, and Lee fans have wanted him forever. So I don't know. I don't think so. Sadeen Magic, 15. Hey, welcome back. You cannot leave dry settle all alone like that. No, you can't. But the thing about Leon dry cycle is he finds ways to be alone all like that, and that's what makes him special. Andy L. Adam, what European player should rebrand themselves a Teddy Bluger. I don't know. You mean a name rebrand or a play rebrand? It is funny sometimes when the players come over and they anglicize their names and stuff, too. Just because it's easier for us, we can't pronounce it properly.

[00:42:51]

I think is it Gruboinkin? Is changing the way he spells his name when he comes to Toronto? He's a Russian prospect that the Leaps have, and they just signed him. In Russian, it's spelled with a Y, but he's going to spell it with an I over here. Will the Panthers expose the Rangers in physicality? That's from braided. Man, I don't think the Rangers are soft, man. I think the Bruins are a lot softer this year than they've ever been since they won the Cup. I've never seen the Bruins play that soft. And I wonder what they're going to do about it this offseason. They were soft against the Leaps, too. They really were. And the only reason the Leaps can't take advantage of it is because they're the Leaps, and they're not capable, clearly. But had previous Leaps teams played that Boston team, like under Babs, they played the hardcore, murder you at center ice, Boston Bruins, and they took them to seven games twice. I think, believe it or not, previous Leaps teams would have beat that team. I didn't think Bruins were... I didn't think the Bruins were that good, and I don't think they were that good against the Panthers.

[00:44:06]

I think the Panthers led them in at times. And I love Paul Maurice press conference. By the way, 2:28 left in the first. I love the Paul Maurice's press conference. Where he's like, I'd watch Florida, Boston, whatever. That's him complimenting the Bruins. But the Bruins' management, knowing the way they handle things, they're not happy, and they're going to make some moves. Lindhol? Okay, good little Good little play there. There's 2:10 left in the first. We are going to get an offensive zone face-off. The leaves are baby-thigh soft. They are not that soft anymore. They were. They Actually, the Leaps are a lot tougher, I think, than teams give them credit for. The leaves, the problem is they couldn't score. So calling the Leaps soft is not accurate. If you want to accurately chirp them, say they got a bunch of 40... They got $40 million wrapped up in four forwards who can't score during the playoffs. Oh, there's injuries. Oh, there's this. Did you hear Nathan McKinnon last night? When they lose, he's like, it doesn't matter that we were almost this or almost that. It doesn't matter why we lost. We lost, and we need to win.

[00:45:13]

Why can't we get that? It's true. 159, 158, 157 left in the first period. I'll count down from time to time, just mid-play, so that way you've got some time to align your stream. They had Zack and Coyle as their one C and two C. Of course, they weren't as good as previous teams. Yeah. Well, and it makes me wonder because Boston's really smart about making the moves that they need to make and paying the price they need to pay. Good little run from behind there on Sussi. That's what you need to do. Get under a Vancouver skin. I think that was Fogal that hit him. Rocky, leaves need a culture of winning and not accepting losing. I could not agree more. I could not agree more. And that's why there's going to be changes, not just Craig Berube. There's going to be changes for the leaves. Okay, let me tell you this. And again, died in the wool leaf fan, but I watched this series, both of these teams would have beaten the leaves. Both of them. Both of them. And it's because both of these teams can score goals when it's hard. It has nothing to do with toughness.

[00:46:29]

It has everything to do with deploying and strategy and mental toughness. The Edmondson-Oilers, when they scored to win game four, I called that a veteran move because the Knucks had literally just tied up the game with a minute to go. And Edmondson goes, Yeah, okay, we're going to put our big guys out there, and we'll see what happens. And guess what? They score a goal 30 seconds later, whatever it was. Evander Cain. We got one minute left in the first period, by the way. Vancouver has done the same thing because Vancouver is not young. They might be relatively inexperienced compared to Edmondson in the playoffs because they haven't made it. But this is an Edmondson team with players that have been there. They had their little COVID run, but JT Miller has been there with Tampa before. And I think, I look at this and I go, that when they claw back in the games, which they have every single time, both teams, not a chance, not a chance. I I am so upset ESPN has the entirety of the Eastern Conference final coverage. Why? Hey, question for you guys. Who's done a better job covering the game in the States?

[00:47:45]

Is it... Oh, my God. Hayden just sent me a text. Oh, my God. Leon Dreisad, a fourth player in NHL history with 60 assists in 60 career playoff games. Who Who are the other ones? Let me guess. Gretsky, Messier, Paul Koffie. It has to be all oilers, right? Like '80s oilers. Goofy. Goofy. Oh, it's McDavid. So it's Gretzky, Messier, McDavid. Wow. 60 assists, 60 play-off games. Can't relate. Leefan, can't relate. 15.5 seconds left to go. So why is TNT guys so much better? I'm seeing a bunch of TNTs. Why is TNT so much better? Is it the intermission? Because their intermissions are spectacular. I could not agree with you more. They're spectacular. And we don't even get access to them where I live. It's just I see them come up and They've actually turned Wayne Gretsky into a great pundit, and he is known for being a bad interview and boring on camera. I was really surprised when they signed him, and they've done a great job with him. They really brought It brought it out. By the way, I love how many Americans are tuning in here. This is great. It's awesome. We got the whole world.

[00:49:11]

We are going to do a city check-in, but not yet. We're saving that for the beginning of the second period. We got to do a city check-in. I got to know where you're watching from, but not yet. Ten seconds to go in the first period. So as I told you, going in the intermission, I'm going to switch where I'm watching the game. Oh, Edmondon scores. That is 1,000 % goal tender interference, and they're going to call that one back. And the ref already said no. Ref already waved it off. That is an absolute Unquestionable no goal. If you've been watching any other series, and this counts as a goal, I will be blown away, blown asunder. Of course, it's no goal. They'll challenge it. There's no way that's a goal, guys. If we've been watching any other series, we know that they are super vigilant about goal tender interference right now. Yeah, I don't think so. I don't think so. Here's the problem, McDavid's in the crease. Listen, if you're an oiler fan and you're pissed about this, I get it. I don't think so. I don't think so. I'm referencing Dallas last night, and remember their overtime goal that was called back in the first overtime, so then they go to the second overtime?

[00:50:40]

I'm putting money on this not counting, if they review it. And I'm wondering if Edmondson is even going to bother to review it. So incidental contact, there is no penalty. Are they reviewing? And this It happens with exactly a second to go. And she loves... Listen, she loves sells this. Let's call that what it is. Yeah. They didn't even challenge it. And that can't be a goal. If the Dallas one was not a goal, this can't be a goal. I hate to say Oh, Pierre deLuc-du-Bois says no goal. Well, that's great. You'd know a lot about it, Pierre deLuc-du-Bois. No goals. He was pushed into the goalie. To me, that should be a goal. So I agree with you. I think that if a player is pushed into the goal, it should count. If Vancouver pushes McDavid into Sheilovs, it's on the Vancouver defenseman, right? Because you don't want to set a precedent that, Oh, anytime there's a scoring chance, I'll just push the guy in front of the net into my goal tender, and it won't count. You can't have that, right? The problem with that is that is not the way they've called it these entire playoffs.

[00:52:12]

So if they were to allow that goal right now, and I'm not saying this is fair, people would go, Wait a second. Even though Dallas won in the second overtime last night, then they should have won in the first. If you're going to call it like that, that's the way it should be called. If you're going to call it like that, then you got to call it like this in this game. The problem that head office has right now in the NHL, especially because there's two head offices, New York, which is Department of Player Safety head office, and then there's the review judges, and they're all in Toronto. The problem is, if that is the way the NHL wants the rule called right now, they got to keep it that way because people are going to call them on their bullshit. Fans are not stupid. We all have Twitter. There's going to be side-by-side comparisons all day, all day, and that'll never be allowed. Shiloh should change his name to ExxonMobil because he owns Edmondson. Well, so Again, just a reminder, a little programming note here. So we usually get about 17 minutes in the intermission.

[00:53:20]

I am going to put a clip on and I'll introduce it in just a second. I'm going to try to switch over to Rogersignite or Shawignite, see how it goes, and hopefully I can get a stream that's a little bit more updated so we can all follow the play a little bit more closer to because Sportsnet now, on purpose, I think, delays the feed and it's really annoying. And so I'll see if I can use my cable login to do it. Okay? So what clips do we have? Oh, hey, let's run a little bit of Steve Dangle talking about Craig Berube on his LFR our channel. The Leifs just hired Craig Berube. So what does it mean? Let's have a look.

[00:54:05]

Oh, we got breaking news, and you know what that means. We finished recording a podcast about two hours before it happened. But here's what it is. According to Elliott Friedmann, The Toronto Maple Lefs are about to sign Craig Berube to be their next head coach. I'm sure you know Craig Berube is the head coach of the 2019 St. Louis Blues who won the Stanley Cup, but he's also a former leaf, which I completely forgot. He was actually a part of several pretty big trades throughout his career, but the biggest one was probably this. The Toronto Maple leaves trade away Craig Berube, Alexander Godennick, Gary Lehman, Michel Petit, and Jeff Reece, and they acquire Jamie McCowan, Doug Gilmore, Kent Mandeville, Rick Natris, and Rick Wamsley. Now he's back. There is increasing noise on Mark Savard, who was an assistant coach with Beroubi and the St. Louis Blues before going over to the Calgary flames, where he is for the time being. That, of course, came from this tweet from Dan powers of the Empty Netters, Hearing rumblings of Craig Berube as the new Maple Leaves' head coach, with the possibility of Mark Savard joining him on the coaching staff.

[00:55:17]

To that point, there was another tweet, this one coming in out of Calgary. Boomer, he's a sports personality out that way, on Barnburner Today said that he has heard that Mark Savard is going to Toronto. Now, I know what some of you might be thinking, Steve, didn't you used to work with Marc Savard? Steve, weren't you in a commercial with Marc Savard? Yes, I was in a commercial with Marc Savard, and yes, I did use to work with Marc Savard, and I reached out to Marc Savard. And do you think he told me? I'm out of the insider game for a while, guys. Now, with Craig Berube, what head coach are the Leifs getting? Let's look at his record from St. Louis. Mike Yeoh was the head coach in St. Louis, and they fired him, and the Blues were in last place. They also had absolutely no goal tending. Roughly around the same time that the St. Louis Blues They first get Craig Barube as their head coach behind the bench. He was already an associate coach with the St. Louis Blues. They also get Jordan Binnington, just in an attempt to find a goalie who can make a save.

[00:56:09]

And he does. You show me a good coach, I'll show you a good goalie. You show me a good goalie, I'll show you a good coach. That team was in last place at the beginning of January. After Baroube took over the bench in St. Louis that season, though, they went 38, 19, and 6 for the rest of the season, making the playoffs and then winning the Stanley Cup. You might look at that and go, Yeah, but that season was magical. It was a flash in the pan. It's never going to happen again where a team is that good during the regular season for that stretch of time, and then they go on to win the Cup. Want to know something crazy? I just found out. Not only was Craig Barube's First season as the head coach of the St. Louis Blues, not his best season with the St. Louis Blues. It wasn't even second. I'm talking just regular season here. Obviously, he only won the Cup once. But the Blues had a 651 points percentage that season. The next year in 1920, which was the COVID-shortened season, they had a record of 42, 19, and 10, which is a 662 save percentage.

[00:57:12]

2020, '21 wasn't as good. But during the '21, '22 season, the St. Louis Blues had a record of 49, 22, and 11, which is a 6,65 points percentage. As I'm shooting this video right now, even Frank Cervales is saying Barube is going to be named the 41st coach in Toronto the Maple leaf history. Expect announcement soon. It's happening. Here's the thing. All anyone wants, all any elite fan wants, is a coach that is going to get it done in the playoffs. Forget the regular season. Here's the thing. Greg Barube is pretty good in the regular season. In the Here's where he hasn't been quite as good. He hasn't had Alex Petrangelo, who was a huge, massive part of the 2019 Cup winning team. That and Jordan Bennington was at times completely unpredictable. In 2022, when the Avalanche won the Cup, Bennington actually had to leave that series with an injury. Who knows what could have happened. But ifs and buts, candy nuts, all that. That's one way to look at it, is Barubei won a Cup five years ago, and he's had some really good regular season teams. Here's Another way to look at it, and a little bit of Trivia, how many seasons did Craig Barubei win a playoff series, at least one playoff series, as head coach of the St.

[00:58:26]

Louis Blues? The answer? Two. Two seasons. In 2019, obviously, he won four playoff series en route to winning the Stanley Cup, and then in 2022, he won one. That's it. Outside of winning the Stanley Cup, the farthest the Blues went, as Craig Berube as their head coach, was the second round. It's worth mentioning that he didn't just pop out of thin air when he was named the head coach of the St. Louis Blues. He had been an associate coach with them, and he was an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Flyers for a long time, and he was on the bench with them when they went to the Stanley Cup final in 2010. As for Marc Savard, this could be interpreted as overthinking it, but I think it's worth noting. From Joseph Zita of theleapsnation. Com, Marc Savard was in charge of Calgary's powerplay this season, if that's what he's coming to Toronto for, generating a 17 14.9%, good enough for 26th in the NHL. But given the type of player Savard was and the players on Toronto, he's probably a better option than Bouchet. It's worth noting how someone performs with another team, but But this also happened with Paul McFarland, the opposite.

[00:59:33]

Some of you, even the hardcores right now, are going, Who's that? Paul McFarland ran the Florida Panthers power play one year, and it was frigging ridiculous. I think it was second in the entire NHL, and the least Leaps took them. Everyone expected the Leaps power play to be automatic, and it just wasn't. The expectations for this Toronto Maple Leaps power play in the Matthew's era have been sky high because look at the players on the thing. Even though it has regularly been a good power play in the regular season, it's always felt like a bit of a disappointment given the talent on the thing. For those of you who are maybe a little too young to remember Marc Savard as a player, he was one of the most underrated playmakers of his generation of players. It is actually ironic that a lot of the rumors swirling around the Leifs right now have the Leifs trading Mitch Marner because I wonder what those two could do together. Or the other way you could look at it is, well, if Marner is going to get traded the Lefs are going to lose a lot of playmaking ability, it might be good to have that mind behind the bench.

[01:00:35]

I think people get too stuck in what an assistant coach's job is. It's just to run the power play. It's just to run the penalty kill. That's not really how it works. Yes, that might be their main responsibility, but there's a lot more to it. You're the buffer between players and the head coach. Sometimes the head coach has a tough message to deliver, and the assistant coach has to soften the blow, or they have to back their head coach. There's a lot of minutiae, skills. I think morale is really important. It's not as simple as, Oh, they run the power play. What did the least get with Craig Berube? Well, you saw the clip going around, or maybe you didn't. Let me describe it to you. Sheldon Keef, before Game 7 in TD Garden this year. He's like, All right, guys, go out there and have fun. Then that was juxtaposed with a video of Craig Berube from Game 7 TD Garden. Stanley Cup final, though, and he's like, We're going to win the effing cup. I think it's a big change of pace. It's good that Sheldon Keef and Craig Berube might have very differing styles because it's not like the players on the leaves are going to forget Sheldon Keef hockey like that.

[01:01:47]

It's not like Sheldon Keef never taught them anything worth remembering. Berube is going to come in and give them a different depth, a different perspective, and maybe one that adheres more to a Brad for a living team. We already know the Leifs are trying to be heavier and nastier, and they were certainly that this past season, and Barube is certainly that. Keef, for whatever you think of him, is a bit more of a gentler approach. There's nothing gentle about Craig Barube. In his entire hockey career. He was an enforcer, and it sounds like he acts that way behind the bench. He acts that way on the podium, in front of the media, calling out players. He's a motivator. He's there to push you to be better. He's there to get get the most out of you. Whether you like Sheldon Keef or didn't, I thought it was obvious by the end that even if you thought he was doing a good job, and there's lots of arguments to say that he was doing a good job, he couldn't get more out of this team than he was getting. Last little nugget, and I totally forgot about this until Andy Strickland mentioned it.

[01:02:49]

Strickland, who covers the Blues primarily, says, Happy for Craig Berubey, gets reunited with Mike Van Ryan. I forgot. Leef's assistant coach, Mike Van Ryan, was an assistant with Berubey in Louis. Can assume Toronto is making a significant commitment, both financially and in years. Country club days are over. Hope Toronto players are ready. There's a new chief in town, Strickland says. Right now, it sounds like this announcement is imminent from the Leaps. It might even be up by the time this video is up. Let me say with my whole chest, Craig Berube is a leaf, again. He was a player here, you see. What do you think of the Toronto Maple Leaps' new hire? Do you think Marc Savard is going to join him. What do you think of the Leaps basically stealing one piece at a time, the St. Louis Blues coaching staff. Hey, you know how they got a goalie to win the Cup for them in 2019? Who's the goalie? We don't know the goalie. It's going to be a fascinating offseason in Toronto, and it's already underway. For now, that is it for this one. Thank you very much for watching. Click like.

[01:04:07]

Hi. I'm back. What do we think? What do we think? Listen, oilers and connoisse fans, I know that you don't get enough leaves coverage. In your world. I know that the complaint out of the Western provinces of Canada is, how come I don't get to hear about the Leaps more? I know that. And you call it the Toronto Sports Network and LeapsNet because you're like, Guys, you should probably give that team some coverage. It's really you, by the way, to think that way. I'm really appreciative of it. And I agree. I think they should do more Leifs coverage. But I did want to know what you think. As two teams with Who have gone through head coaches in the last year. You guys know what it's like when you see a coach bump. We haven't seen a coaching change since before the pandemic in Toronto. That's already a long time. We forget. Pandemic was 2020. Keith was hired 2019. It's a long time ago. Does it make a big difference? I'm an American, and I get way too much leaves coverage. Sorry, but let me just rephrase that. There is no too much leaves coverage because there are lead fans who desire it, and then there are fans of other teams who desire to make fun of it.

[01:05:21]

And where would we be without a team with so much coverage and so little success? Are you telling me that you would enjoy it? Come on. Your life would suck without the leaves. Come on. We all have to admit that. You got to have somebody to laugh at. Sorry, Adam, the problem is further up the chain. Joey Denecamp. Thoughts on Rod Brandemouw extension. Did he get one? I'm going to check that. Did he get the extension he was looking for? Yeah, no, they haven't. They have not extended the man. So there you go. Thoughts on it? I think there's probably 20 teams that would love to have Rod Brandemouw as a coach. I think that Rod Brandemouer wants to stay there. I don't think there's any question that Rod Brandemouer is dying to stay in Carolina. But I think the owner of that team is a billionaire for a reason, and that's because he's a tough businessman and he doesn't want to... He doesn't probably mind paying Rob, but he's probably like, Why do I have to pay your assistance and the training staff? Why do I have to give these people a raise? You haven't won me a cup.

[01:06:39]

Should be careful. Should be careful. When you got a good thing going, It's multi-year. Did we get one? When did it confirm? Did it just confirm? Hayden just sent me a text. Dude, really? See, I didn't even see it. When did Weeks tweet that out? Weeks. I'm going to go look him up. Kevin Weeks with the inside track on erbody. No, he just tweeted it out two minutes ago. Okay, so here's what Kevin Weeks said. I'm told Brenda Moore and the coaching staff have agreed. See, it's important what I said there. Brenda Moore and coaching staff have agreed to a multi-year extension. Because Brenda Moore does the approach that the cast of friends did back in the day, which is if you negotiate together, you have more power. You can claim that, Oh, he's a regular season merchant or whatever. The guy has been to two conference finals in the last six years as a head coach. Not a lot of coaches can say they've done that. Usually, with the exception, I think, of his first or second year there, they've always at least made the second round. If you're a team like Carolina, there are economic reasons why, Forget the Stanley Cup for a second, which is hard to do from a sports fan perspective.

[01:08:04]

Carolina wants and needs that gate revenue from the first and second round, because it's the only revenue of the year where you don't have to pay the players. It's just pure profit. All the bills are paid. It's done. And that helps them develop, spend more money elsewhere or just keep it. I would say, keep the coaching staff you have. Okay, here we go. So I am on the Shaw Ignite app now. The picture is already better than Sportsnet+. I keep calling it Sportsnet now. It's not called Sportsnet now anymore. It's called Sportsnet plus. Why? Because you can't call it Sportsnet now when it's 45 seconds behind the game. Sportsnet plus. Adam, when is producer Hayden texting you the clock? I know. I know. Apparently, it's actually really difficult to do the clock, but I still feel like you should boo producer Drew because He probably deserves it in some manner. Okay, here we go. We're getting ready for the face off. I will do some clapping on the face off throughout the period. Here we go. And we got a second period underway. We only had eight shots in the first. It honestly felt a little Nashvilly, I'm not going to lie.

[01:09:38]

Sl, Brenda Moore is just a jacked up Bruce Boudreau. Great motivator, no adjustments over the course of the series. Well, if that's the case, though, he sure is making management a lot of money, and that team sure is close to a Stanley Cup contender every year. They're never quite the most dominant team, are they? They aren't, but they're always in there. 1950 left in the second period, just so we're aligning our aligning streams, baby. Does that sound weird to say? Yeah, sure it does. Why not? John Gibson, ESPN missed the first nine seconds of the second period. Yeah, I saw a bunch of people complaining about ESPN before that. We never got the chance to get into that. But why is TNT so much better? A lot of it was the personalities and that thing. Miller wins the face-off. Yeah, jeez. I cannot believe ESPN missed the beginning of the second period. That's not great. It's not great. Blue-white Flame gifted five ESPN memberships. Thank you so much. That's amazing. Espn is like your mom's new boyfriend who doesn't know anything about your interests, but tries to use the lingo to make it seem like they do.

[01:11:13]

I love that. That's funny. Man, ESPN is so unserious when it comes to hockey still. Man, that's so surprising to hear because it's done great things for hockey in the States. It really has. Tnt and ESPN. Hockey She is on the upswing again, which is nice. I've always wondered what it'd be like to do a panel show. I think, ideally, I'd love to do one with Jessie and Steve. I don't know who would hire us, which is why We created our own network because probably nobody would have. What a save. Dakota Joshua, Bluger, Garland in there. I really like that line since they switched it up. I know Lynn Home is a far superior center, but Teddy Bluger has had a good series. That's a good third line. You can't complain about that. And you needed to get Petterson going. It wasn't working with him at center. Miller and Bouchard, they're playing just a little replay of these two guys. I like that. I like that the ref let that go. Don't call a penalty on that. Just let them go. Stpn. We could just do a panel show, L-O-L. We could do a panel show easily.

[01:12:28]

Steve and Jessie and I could easily do a panel show, but we don't have the right, so we just have to populate it. It's not the end of the world. We could do that. How is a panel show different from the podcast other than length? Well, I don't think it is. I think we'd actually have to be really tight. I don't know. I have supreme confidence in my friends, and I think we could probably put a really good panel show together. That's how I feel Friends and business partners, by the way, because we're adults now. We're more than just friends. We're also business... Oh, Zdorow. That's going to be a penalty. Oh, man. Yeah, listen, Edmondon is not going to do anything about that because they don't want to get a call, too. But that is a penalty. And Zdorow is looking down at the top of the ref's head because he's gigantic. So So what was that? Is that Karek that he got? Yeah. Hey, by the way, shout out Sam Karek for putting together the NHL career he has. Yeah, that is 100 % a call all day. Holding? They gave him holding.

[01:13:48]

That could have been ruffing. It's too bad they don't get too specific, like punching to the head. The Oilers didn't score a power play goal, I think, last game. And that's the first It's time. And this power play is brutal to play against. So I'm really curious about what Vancouver is able to do here. Zanowski, name a better duo than Zdorov in bad penalties. True. Zdorow giveth and Zdorow taketh away. Bouchard at the top. New Nuj. Over to McDavid, trying to find Hyman. Leon Dreisetel, by the way, also wide open, but McDavid couldn't have found him with a pass. But that's where he has scored all series. Dreisetel looking for his ninth multi-point game in 11 playoff games this year. Ninth multi-point game. Outrageous. Stop it. It's not fair. There's Lindholm. Bluger trying to get it out. Bouchard stops him. Nuj at the top. He's going to pass it off to dry sidle. Mcdavid on the far wall. You know that's who dry sidle is looking for. They're trying to move Hyman out from the net. They can't do it. I don't know if Sheiloff got a piece of that, but boy, that looked close.

[01:15:17]

One minute left on the power play. Knuck's clear. They get the change. I wonder if Edmondton will change, because I don't think they are. Does Edmondton even really have a second power play unit? No. What are you going to do? Take Leon and Connor off? No. Oh, baby. Sorry, I got to not say that right into the microphone. Oh, I thought there was... I thought they had Sheilovs down and out of position there, and the shot was not taken. Nil Zaman getting a deep against Bouchard. Legs are getting a little tired for the Oylers' first power play, but these guys are in their 20s, and they can handle it. Mcdavid. Sheilovs with a nice little stop there. That's the first registered shot on the power play by the Edmonton oilers, but they've had some scoring chances. Man, Zack Hyman missed a good one there. Puck just bounced. So Ian Cole stopped a definitive Leon Dreiside goal there. There's Ian Cole paying you back. Fifteen seconds left to go on this power play. Vancouver wins the face off. Edmonton somehow comes up with the power or the the park. The second Edminton power play unit, which never plays, is out there right now.

[01:16:49]

Skr13 gifting another 10 memberships. Let's go, SKR. Thank you so much. Jesse Blake's in the chat here somewhere, too. I know he is. Doing the clap. Oh, what a save by Sheilabs. Skr really trying to bribe the hockey gods tonight. No kidding. Espn cutting to the Dallas, Colorado game in the last minute of a ranger's canes in game 2 was a major L. They also put canes win on the digital boards, and the canes hadn't even scored in the same game. Puceut along the boards, Ian Cole. The big boys... Well, not the big boys. Puceut and Nils Amand are out there. Weird line combo's here. There's Quitten Hughes. Oh, nice little shot in. Suter well covered by a nurse there, so he can't really get a tip. Skinner has not been tested at all. I guess it doesn't matter. It It doesn't matter how well Skinner plays if he's not going to get shot on. Sheilabs look good on that play. I'm going to give you guys a clap here. I know you guys are asking. I'm going to give you the clap. You don't have to take a pill for this one. It's Saturday.

[01:18:19]

Let's get crazy. 14:42 left in the second period. By the way, they have not dropped the fuck. 14:42. That's what we're looking for. I'm just going to hold my hands like this and watch, the rep will not drop the buck. He faked him once. There we go. We have a face off. And there goes Evander Cain. It's Adora, clears it over. Blue Girl on the boards. Quinn Hughes going after it. Quinn Hughes out there with Nikita Zdorow. A little trip from behind there. Nothing out of character. Conor Garland throws it deep. Blueger for checking. Oiler is able to clear it. Phil Ronick with a little hit on Evander Cain. He's not going to like that. Mt. New T-shirt idea. Adam gave me the clap. I like that. I don't know if Jesse. See, I have to run that by Jesse, and he tries to maintain some semblance of adulthood. All right. Did Hughes just get a slew foot in the corner? Yes, he did. He did. But I don't think it was an intentional slew foot. Here we go. We got to clap 14:11, second period. Thirteen 57 left. We got Quin Hughes. This has been an interesting game as far as intensity goes, because there really hasn't been any.

[01:20:14]

With the exception of those two goals, what's really happened? I don't know. Matias Janmark and JT Miller getting into it. Oh, good little drive there. I think that was Fogal. Good drive. That's what we want to see. We want to see some plays here. It's open, Besser, Hoeglander. Just gets blocked. Willers are doing a good job of getting their sticks in their bodies just a little in front of The Edmondson shots. Oh, Shiloh's out, but he covers. Oh, baby. That was a bit of a risk. If he doesn't have that, Bouchard can just wrap it around. Thank you, Panthers, for eating that rat, Marshan. Hey, did you guys see the handshake line? With the Bruins and the Panthers? You see the little moment between Marshan and Bennett? Did either of them ever say what they said to each other? Because it seemed like it was a little... By the way, let me read you stats. This was sent to me by, I think... Wait, this is in the CJ Show group chat, but I got to read this to you. So here are some of Darnell Nurse's numbers this postseason. Zero goals, two assists for two points in 10 games.

[01:21:43]

That's leading into this game. He has the lowest plus minus in the NHL, which is a negative nine, a 40.89 five on five expected goals for 56 at a 62 defenseman. He is the eighth highest paid defenseman in hockey. Now, Let me say this. His numbers instantly improved when he wasn't playing with Cody CC anymore. I want to know. I want to know what it's like. Give me the last three-game sample. And I know the playoffs are not long sample size periods, but I feel like I feel like they stapled him to the wrong guy. I'm just watching. I'm looking at Twitter right now. And Connor Garland versus Vinnie D. Harnay in the first period. It's when they were pushing each other around the net. Everybody's talking about the size difference. Give Connor Garland credit. He doesn't give up. He's not going to take it. Ceece needs to be traded. You'd find takers for Ceece. Based on body language, I think Bennett was trying to apologize. Here we go, face off. And Marshan was having none of it. Well, here's the thing about Marshan, is he's done that to about 20 guys, and I doubt he ever apologize.

[01:23:14]

If I were Bennett, there are certain people you don't need to apologize to, and I don't think Marshan would want one. He said it himself in the interview. He's like, I've done it to other people. I've been on the... Oh, here we go. Oh, what a save by Shilov's on Zack Hyman A 50 goal score, Zack Hyman. This line is looking dangerous. And Shilov... Oh, man. It just bounces in. Sussi saw it at the last second. And I think that was Zack Hyman with a goal. That's a big, big goal. Just squig through, but this is going to be a game of inches. That's the greasy goal you need. Edmondson had a really good shift here. They were looking very dangerous. Susie Meyer is looking completely outmatched. So Hyman shoots, and then it goes off of Shilov's glove. Oh, he's had so many good saves in this game already. That's a Zack Hyman goal, ladies and gentlemen. It all counts. Man, I can't lie. I still get excited when Zack Hyman scores a goal. Can't not love him. Greasy goal, and he's the king. He's the king of them. Now, the last time the other scored, Vancouver had a goal within two minutes of that.

[01:24:41]

So we'll see if they cheat a little more offensive. If this game opens up a bit, I don't think anybody would be upset by that. C. J. Cable, those passes by McDavid are chef's kiss. That was great. That was great. That was great playing. That's the Connor McDavid we've been looking for. He's probably hurt, but who isn't? Oh, little steal. Petterson taking the buck up. And it's broken up at the oilers blue line. De Arne and Nurse out there. Nurse with another rush here. It's his second rush of the game. Oh, man, really, Adam, you are so biased. Go oil. Am I biased? I don't know. I just was cheering on Zack Hyman. Knux need to chill and refocus. Knux need to drive the net. Knux need to put some shots on a goalie that has a less than 900 save percentage. They have to figure that out. You have to. Now, Sheilovs is Freddie because it went right through. No. Shilovs has been way more clutched than Freddie Anderson. It's nothing personal against Freddie, but it's just this... You look at the history of the goal tender, that's what this guy has been. Sheilovs has been lights out in these playoffs.

[01:26:40]

11:26. That was a bit of a Cody CC shot. Here comes Carter Garland bringing it up. We'll see what this line can get going. You got to get shots on net. If I were Vancouver, I'd be going for volume shots on Skinner. Because I think you need to get in his head. I don't think he's comfortable yet. And he's not been a playoff performer. Get the shots to the net. Five shots halfway through this game is unacceptable. Oilers have done a great job. You got to give him credit, but you got to shoot. Hronik, nice little shot. Dakota Joshua drives the Edmondon defenseman into the net. There's Joshua behind. Nobody really to pass it to. They got to cycle down deep. Garland's got it. That's where he excels. You got Susie with a shot. 10:37 left in the second period. 12:06 of the shots in Edmondson's favor. This has been the problem. What Edmondson has really done a great job of is preventing zone entries that lead to anything. So Vancouver has been able to get the Pug deep, but they can't retrieve it. And when they have tried to carry it across, Edmondson is doing a really good job of breaking up the play.

[01:28:01]

So maybe they get across the blue line, but then they're looking for the Puck. It's behind them, whatever. It's been stingy defense by Edmondson. Shilav's 24 or Shemid 23? I say Shilov's 24. Guys will win away from the conference finals. Whether or not he gets there is a material. I think Shilov's is... And I also think Shilov's is more of a longer term play, meaning I think he's an NHL goalie, whereas Akira Schmidt, we just don't know. Either way, the goal-tending future in Edmonton is bright, I think. Still have Demko. Can have this kid come in and play behind him next year. You could probably... If Casey to Smith, is he under contract or is he a free agent? If he's under contract, you can trade him. If not, you can use that money and resign somebody. See what Edmondson just did there? There's a bit of a feed. It wasn't a good one. Here's Conor McDavid. They turned it right around. Ekholm is going to get a shot here. Oh, that rebound was real dangerous. Sheilas was sliding out of position. And this is the thing. Edmondson is doing a great job. So if the Knucks Let's gain the buck here, which is going to be difficult to do with Edmondson out there.

[01:29:34]

Sorry, with Edmondson's top line out there. Mcdavid's out there, Nuge is out there, Hyman's out there. Watch what Edmondson will do when Vancouver tries to break out, although We've been on a 30-second ozone vendor here, so we'll see how long that lasts. Mcdavid's looking a little more dangerous. Knuck's clear. Oh, might have a giveaway here. It's not going to lead much. And there goes Edmondson again. Puck, back through the neutral zone and back into the... Oh, Hyman almost had another one there. Sorry, the oilers are moving quick right now. Oh, and it's a goal. What a shot. Evan Bouchard, an absolute laser beam low, and I don't think Shilav saw it. Wow. Ladies and gentlemen, it's smelling like game seven already, and it's only 8:40 to go in the second period. Edmonton doing an unbelievable job of taking every single turnover and spinning it around and throwing it back at the Knux. So you watch. Look, the Knux, throw it out. Look, boom. Got Got it? Oh, we got to almost break. Wait, no, we're going to break that up. And watch. Wow. Nice freaking shot. Nobody touches Bouchard's shot there. It It's just off the post-it in the net.

[01:31:02]

Beautiful. Guys, I think we're getting to game seven. This is smelling like an oiler's game seven. Sorry, Vancouver game seven, as in It's going to be in Vancouver. Vancouver has got to figure out some offense here. We are 31 minutes and 30 seconds. Sorry, 31, 30 into this game, and they've allowed six shots. So that's roughly... Edmonton has allowed a shot, roughly one shot every five minutes. You can't win a game like that. The Knucks have come back before, though. Yes, they have. Of Of course they have. Of course, they have. But you got to get some shots to come back. And what the Knucks are now going to have to do is they're going to have to open up the game. They're going to have to cheat offense a little bit. And that That can really backfire with a team like Edmonton, who are so good at the takeaways in the neutral zone, and they're quite mobile on their offense. Edmonton's defense, or sorry, Vancouver's defense is a lot of things. Mobile is not... It's not their strength, right? Quinn Hughes, Philip Ronick. Yeah, those guys are mobile. But your boy, Dvorov, Tyler Myers, Ian Cole, Carson Sussi.

[01:32:33]

Mobility is not the first thing that comes to mind when I think about those guys. Listen, they can come back, and they have come back multiple times in this series. I'm just saying, We're going to have to figure this out. Also, I just want to throw out there, as a fan of a team that does not currently possess a defenseman that can shoot from the point, it's so crazy what a difference it makes. Because nobody who covers Toronto's power play has to cover the point. Because what's going to happen is it's going to be Morgan Reilly at the point, and he's going to switch off with Mitch Marner. Neither of them are ever going to shoot, ever, ever. So you can get low and cover the Toronto forwards who are going to try for a tip or something. You're only ever going to get shots from the half boards. You'll never get a shot from the point. That was one thing I was excited about, believe it or not, with John Clingberg coming in, because that guy I actually used to shoot from the point. I was like, if that's the only thing he does, he'll be useful.

[01:33:38]

Edmondson's got a guy that can shoot from the point. Vancouver has a couple of guys that can shoot from the point. You absolutely must have defensemen that can shoot from the point. It's such a stupid thing, but it's such a big thing. When you don't have it, it's noticeable, especially in the playoffs, and they never have. Drive, settle up to Ceece. Ceece being a forward. Love that. Love that for you, Queen. Cee Cee along the Half-board still pinching? Is he ever going to get back up there? Okay, now he's moving up there. Jeff E. Leaps tried it with Barry. No, Tyson Barry tried it. Leaps But Tyson Barry's thing was he really loved to take slap shots from the point that went off the knee of the player closest to him. I think the Leaps didn't really try very much with Tyson Barry. They picked up a guy who wasn't the right fit. And look at that. He didn't fit. I don't blame Tyson Barry for his time in Toronto so much as I blame Mike Babcock, screwing up the first half of it, and then Sheldon putting him in a place to succeed, and then COVID.

[01:34:56]

It's a bad year. It's a bad year. Shots are now 15 to 6, Edmondson. That's so not good for a comeback. And I can't really name a stretch of hockey in this game where Vancouver is dominated. See? And look, They're cheating offense, and Zack Hyman almost gets a break away on a weird bounce. This is going to be real important. Babcock kept Barry off the power play. No, if you remember properly, Cal, here's what happened. Babs kept him off the power play and then put him on power play one and pulled Morgan Reilly off the power play. Morgan Reilly had had 72 points the year before, and they made him, and then Keef took over, and they made Barry the number one power play guy. Even though Morgan Reilly had had 72 points the year before. Just headaches. Just a disaster. I put that trade on Dubas, too. He forced to trade with Codry. He wanted to trade Codri. They had to trade Codri. They really did. But he wanted to get TJ Brody, couldn't get him. And Tyson Berry was your backup? Wasn't a good call. He needed to do better. And also Alex Kerfoot.

[01:36:19]

I'll never forgive him. Miller? So it's Miller, Garland, Joshua in there. This is an interesting... Matt. I think that you're going to see Tucket maybe switch up the lines a little bit here, try to get something going because there's been nothing doing on offense tonight. Meyer's loading up, and it's a weird chip shot. And again, you're seeing Quinn Hughes is cheating offense. See Showtime. If the Knucks lose this series, do you think the Knucks have any interest in a Petterson for Marner swap? I don't think the Leaps do. And no, I don't think Petterson is going to be traded after signing that extension. I'd be shocked. Oh, no. Is Vancouver getting a penalty? Garland is getting a penalty. Is that for tripping? And he's going after Bouchard. What's going on here? What was it for? Did anyone see? Must have been a trip or something because there was an Everton player down. It's ruffing. I think PD would be good for Neylander. I think the problem is, guys, it's not about Petterson or Marner and a swap and whether that would work. Wait, why is Garland getting a penalty here? I don't know about that.

[01:37:47]

I don't know. I guess once you get the arm in there, I guess. I mean, it... That happens all the time in the playoffs, but I guess they're calling it. All right, fine. There goes biased Adam again, biased against the oilers. Well, guys, it's my Western bias. I'm sorry, oilers are not West enough for me to be biased in front of them. Yeah, so Petterson for Marner in this weird reality where Petterson would be traded before he signed. Here's the problem. First off, they're probably going to make around the same amount. Marner's extension is going to look a lot of And even though Petterson is a center, and he's fabulous, the leafs cap situation is such that you can't switch Marner and Petterson and expect anything to change. You got to move. First off, I think they got to move to Tavares' deal, and they will be able to on July second. As soon as Tavares' bonus is paid, it's going to be really easy to move him because he's only going to make 700 grand. And I think once Marner's bonus is paid, he's only making 900 grand, and they're both in the last years of their deal.

[01:39:01]

I think what the Leifs need are instead of one player making 10 million and another player making 10 million, they need two guys making one making seven and one making three, or two guys making five. I love Petterson. I think he's a great player. I don't think that the Leifs would... I think they would look awful hard at a trade for him. Who wouldn't? He's amazing. But I I think Toronto's got to have some changes here. I think Vancouver just took another penalty. Was it Sussi or Myers that got that one? Hyman. Hyman did the right thing there, by the way. Is he bleeding? Is it Dakota Joshua going? High sticking. Dakota Joshua. Let's see this replay here. Get your stick It down to Coda. Oh, my God. Guys, that's so... Okay, one thing I got to say about the Knux is they do take some stupid penalties. Oh, my God. Like, really, Edmonton really does outmatch them on your stupid penalties per 60. I don't see Edmondson taking a lot of dumb penalties. Both of these penalties are completely avoidable. Sadeen Magic, 15, that's such a dive. Guys, it's a high stick every time, every Every time.

[01:40:32]

Every time. You can't get mad at that call. I mean, you can be mad that it happened. That's stupid. You can't. He should never have had his stick up this high, and then Hyman moves in on him, and then he's got no choice but to pull it out, and then Hyman sells it. Sure, Hyman sells it, but it's still a high stick, and it's still right in front of the ref. Two minute man advantage for 41 more seconds. You can't do it. And you could call Edmund to note for diving, and maybe they are, but it's a high stick all day. Again, you can take penalties when you're stopping a scoring chance. What is Dakota Joshua doing there? He and Hyman are really just jostling for position. There's nothing else there that's truly tangible. So it's a call you can't afford that. You cannot afford that. Oh, man, I thought dry settle had one, but Sheilovs was actually in pretty good position to stop it. Good little play by Lindholm. What a pickup he's been. There is a guy I wouldn't mind seeing in Toronto. If the Leaps do move on from Tavares' deal, I wonder what Lindholm's deal looks like in UFA.

[01:41:54]

Oh, man. I thought... Hyman's had some good looks. Connor Garland back out there. That's a guy you want to kill in penalties. Vancouver doing a pretty good job of stopping this oilers power play, which is dominant. There's no other way to describe it. I bet their legs are hurting right now, though. Play has been on for probably a minute. No chance for a change. And I don't think they're going to get one here. Mcdavid is doing too quick of a job turning this around. Look how quickly the oilers get set up. If you're a Lee fan, Watch how quickly the oilers get set up. Couldn't be us. Garland is really pushing them. Oh, and Leon has scored already two goals from that spot. Shiloh had them covered off. Really good. There's Bouchard from the point. And I think Garland got a piece of that. Puck comes down, bouncing around. Nobody knows where it is. Luger tries to clear, and they can't quite get it past Bouchard. Garland might have intercepted there. And there is two seconds, one second. Big kill for the Knux. Big kill for the Knux. That's a big kill. Good for them.

[01:43:11]

Got out of it unscathed. Now, you can't take any more dumb penalties. Oh, baby. Oh, man, it was almost in. Tyler Myers with an almost three minutes shift. Philip Wronik, ice that. They needed a breath, and they're going to get one. Damn, guys. Damn. It's starting to get exciting. It's starting to get exciting in this game. By the way, to all 1150 of you watching, thank you for coming in and hanging out on a Saturday night with me. This is a lot of fun. If you can fire me a like, that'd be great. Brings us into the algorithm. It's just out in front of more people who might want to watch and don't know the stream is happening. I'm going to tweet it out, too. Miller with a shot on And Skinner, I think that's the first shot in the last five, six minutes for Vancouver, and it's not that dangerous, but you got to get something on. Skinner is a goalie with no confidence. You have got to get bodies in front of him. You got to get in his head. And Vancouver hasn't done that yet. Can always change, but it's going to be a tough one.

[01:44:44]

What are you saying in the chat? I've appreciated all the SDPN live streams. Well, thank you. I'm glad you guys like them. We're having fun with them. They're a wicked time. Cross-check that like button. Yeah, cross-check that like button in the mouth, just like Susie on McDavid. Hank Barber, Click the like, damn it. Derek Hand, This stream is so good. I hit like twice. Damn, Derrick. I didn't even know you could do that. Wow, we just got 100 likes in the last two minutes. Thanks, guys. I'm hoping for this. I'm hoping for an exciting end of the second period because the first half of this game was a snore fest, except for the two minutes where they scored. This is a boring game. But now that mistakes have been made and goals have been scored, Vancouver has no choice but to open this game up and try to get a bunch of shots. And what that means is the oilers are going to use their speed, try to manage the takeaways in the neutral zone, and they're going to be pushing back the other way as quickly as they possibly can, which leads to a very open game.

[01:46:10]

And I, for one, I'm very excited for that because that's what we should see, Edmonton in Vancouver. But and the like button, we never see that anymore. Yeah, just pop it like Sam Bennett on Brad Marshan. Lick the like button like Marshan. Jacquelyn K, I haven't missed the stream. Thanks, guys. Wow, that's cool. Thank you. There have been a lot of streams, so thank you. Whoa, I think that should have been a penalty. She lost to the bench. Yeah, Vancouver is going on a tripping call on Quinn Hughes. I didn't see who got it or who's going to get But that is an absolute no-brainer call by the reps. And when I say no-brainer, I mean, it's a call they have to make. Because you know they don't want to most of the time. Unless it's against the least, then every call is wrong. Got it. Got it. Petition to change SDPN to AWGN, Adam Wilde, Gripper Nation. Wow, the need for feet, the thirst for feet in this chat So is Derek Ryan or Darnell Nurse that's going to get this? Oh, yeah. That's Derek Ryan. The thirst for feet in this chat is unmatched.

[01:47:42]

Steve and Jessie, they can do their streams or whatever, but my streams are thirsty. All of you belong in horny jail. I'm proud of that. Proud of that. Shaziboy calling... No, No, Zachary calling JT a diver. You mean JT Miller? No, he was brought down. Come on. Come on. I don't think that was a dive. I think that was a legitimate Derek Ryan brought him down. Here we go. Edmonton is doing such a great job of not allowing Vancouver to get set up. Look, we got three oilers on a penalty kill against the boards, against three Vancouver forwards, and Nuj is covering if that put comes out. Finally, Vancouver can get the puck loose and get set up, and there's a shot. This is good. They're not playing around with it. They got to get more shots. Petterson and De Arnay, bit of a size advantage there for De Arnay, and it leads to a turnover. There's a minute 07 left in the power play. Two minute penalty for me being two into Adam's feet. Man, this foot joke has been going on since the 2022 draft with Montreal. I love that it's continued. Shout out to the feet people.

[01:49:23]

Cathy Cleath. I'm thirsty for a beer, and I think I will go get one. Cathy, we encourage you to get one. We also encourage you to drink responsibly. But have your beard. Benchminer for the Edmonton Oilers. Oh, no. We got a two-man advantage with an entire minute left to go. Oh, baby. I didn't see it because I'm not in the arena. That's one of those ones that you'd have to, I think, be in the arena for. It is difficult to call a game, I'll say, when you're only seeing the TV feed, because when you're there, you really do see the whole thing. I've been up in the media gondola, and I've been in the corporate gondola's across from it. When you're seeing it from the, we call it in the Scotia Bank arena, they call it 600 level, you really do see everything. I don't know how these advertisers, especially for a game like hockey, like baseball, I can get it because nobody's moving around all that much until someone tries to steal a base. How can you make a call possibly go well if you're not there? They got to there. Have you ever been on the Bridge at MSG?

[01:50:44]

Such a cool way to watch the game. I have never been to Madison Square Garden for any reason. I don't like that. I'd like to change that very much. Ideally, for SDP, we need to... Well, for the entire network, but SDP See, CJ show, we need to be traveling more and getting out and seeing all of you because whenever we do a city check-in, you guys are all over the place. Budgets are obviously a thing, but it's something that we need to do. By the way, Edmonton is doing a pretty good job here of covering off this five on three. There is 48 seconds left to go. Quin Hughes at the point. Back to Hronik. Oh, no. Is that Miller? No, it's Miller. Besser, Quinn Hughes, shot. Where did How the fuck go? Skinner popped it up into the zone. Justin, MSG is on my bucket list. Damn, Justin, me too. We do need to go. We do need to go. Robert Malloy, I will fit in a suitcase. Yes, you will. I have a suitcase that fits you perfectly, Rob. You probably have to wear a sweater, though. I hear the bottom of the plains are very, very cold.

[01:51:57]

What's the best hockey arena in the show, and is it MSG? Apparently, Little Caesars in Detroit is the best one in terms of how updated it is and how beautiful it is to see a game there. But MSG, I'm sure, has got a lot of great... I mean, it's MSG. Here we go. Oh. Needed that puck to be on. Seven seconds left in the two-man advantage. Need some more shots from Vancouver here. They got to put shots on this guy. And oh, see what I mean? See what happens when you shoot? Oh, We almost had a break away there. Corey Perry. Five seconds left in the second period. Oilers have killed the five on three. Ladies and gentlemen, the Edmonton Oilers are going to be up 3-1 to start the third period. Oh, baby. Oh, baby. Ubs Arena was really nice. Yes. You know who's really nice, too? Ubs, that's where the Islanders play. Their staff. They've reached out a couple of times. They're like, Hey, if you can ever get here, just let us know. J Rock, I missed this super chat, buddy. These streams have been awesome by the Sdpn team. A shout out is due to the significant others of every Sdpn person working on the stream.

[01:53:13]

Thanks a lot. Yes, Yes. Thank you very much. And thank you to the partners of all of us who have to deal with us not being home at night or being at home and making a lot of noise in the basement, wherever the case may be. I come into the studio because it's a better setup here than I would have at home. Yeah, big shout out to Justin Fisher, big shout out to Robert Malloy, big shout out to Hayden, big shout out to Maddie, the people running the streams, too. They're working their butts off, and they're staying up late and I got to say, Hayden puts together the stat packs for me before every game, and they're really, really good. He does a good job. I will say the best stadium is PBG Pains. That's in Pittsburgh. Because I had to pay for it. Drew, do you own PBG Pains, or do you own the penguins? Oh, it's taxpayer-funded. I like that. That was funny. I like that. Oh, we got some mad dog love in the chat. Connex need to score right off the hop next period. Lauren, I think you're absolutely bang on the money.

[01:54:25]

Cj Cable, STPN Legends, keeping these streams going. Guys, I I think we got to do these all next year. I don't think this is a just playoff thing. Here's my question to you. When we do these, obviously, we see more audience on a Saturday night. And if we're going to do a Saturday night stream, Steve is going to do that. What I was thinking was, and I haven't run this by the boys yet, but would you be down for a Monday nighter if I did every Monday night? Because that's going to be the Amazon game in Canada. I don't think that it's going to be the Leaps every time. I think it'll be the Leaps a good chunk of the time because obviously, they're a big team, and it's a big national draw, and blah, blah, blah. But what if it's... And there might be more than one game, right? If I can do some early games, I can do some late games. You know what I'm saying? Would you mean of that? Would you guys do that? Just saying. Just ask him. Would you guys actually join me, though? Because everybody's like, Yeah, totally.

[01:55:40]

I'll be at your party. But then you got to come to my party, right? So if I send you out an invitation, you're going to be there for the Mondays? Are we going to call it Monday Night Wild? Kind of like Monday Night Raw, but not. Cory Landega, gifting 10 memberships. Thank you. Yes. As a CBJ fan, I love Toronto. From my teams to Gary Bettman, the Coyotes, the Raps. I'm so disillusioned with the NHL. Any advice for how to watch and enjoy while waiting for things to get better? Well, listen, I think, Edwin, you have, and I will say this Unequivocally, now that the Coyotes are no longer owned by the Morelos, you have the worst run team in the league. And it's not because the owners are bad. The owners are really great, actually. It's because the owners trust the wrong guy to run it, in my opinion. And it's It's not that John Davidson is a bad person. It's not that he doesn't have a ton of experience. He has both of those things. But sometimes you've been a place too long. Sometimes you just need a fresh set of eyes. And from what we're hearing, they're going to hire guys like So Ken Holland's name has come up.

[01:56:47]

I have heard that Don Wadel from Carolina may join him. Don has done a great job. Ken has had his moments in Edmonton, but he's I've had some bad ones, too. I think you need Columbus to embrace some advanced stats and get some younger blood in there. To answer your question about how to enjoy things because you're feeling a little disillusioned, I think the reality is, and I say this as a Toronto Maple East fan, and all I have seen is failure. I know we've made the playoffs the last eight years, but what about the previous '16 where they didn't, right? I'll tell you that watching the best players always reignites my love for it. So if the leaves are having a bad run, and I'm feeling down about everything because I get grumpy when the leaves don't win, I'll make a point of watching Sydney Crosby. I'll make a point of watching Nikita Kutra. I'll make a point of watching Nathan McKinnon. Watch the Oilers with McDavid dryside, I like during a regular season. And you just go, wow, this game is really phenomenal, isn't it? And it's fun doing this as a neutral observer, right?

[01:57:59]

Those are the types of things I do when I feel a little Adam, new idea, premium soccer views. Just think about it. Guys, you're not going to get my grippers for free. It's a thousand likes or bus, and we're not even at 500 likes. All right? Monday Night Wild Grippers. Yeah. Can we move Columbus to Arizona? No, we can't. Oh, no. Can we move Columbus like we did Arizona? No. Columbus doesn't need to They have great fans. They have a great ownership group. It's the thing in the middle. It's the management team that needs to change, and that has to come from the owners. By the way, we're going to run a little quick clip for you because we've got a clip to run, and I'm going to take a quick breather either. And this one is Steve Dangle podcast, Rangers's Win plus Changes Coming in, Carolina, which is going to be hilarious that we're running this clip because I was suggesting Rod the Bod in Toronto. I love Rod the Bod, but he just signed his extension. So how much of this will be outdated? I don't know. But let's run that clip, and I'll be right back.

[01:59:12]

Chris Carter joins. Not elite company at all. Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier are the only New York Rangers to score three goals in one period in the playoffs. Wow. So now it's Messier, Gretzky, and Kreider. Maybe Messier, Gretzky, and Kreider.

[01:59:27]

Gave his award to the wrong guy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know? I like the play for about that later on.

[01:59:35]

This is... So Kreider and Pavelski are the only two in the top 10, so this is since 2012, who haven't won a cup. Asterisk on that. So Pavelski hasn't won. Kutrav has two. Palade has two. Mckinnon has one. Ovie has one. Tarasenko has one. Stamkos has two. Point has two. The asterisk is on Brad Marshan, who has won a Stanley Cup, but not since this stat.

[02:00:04]

Right. Yeah, Brad Marchand won it, and he was like a rookie.

[02:00:07]

It was 2011, and he was a rookie. But this is as of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs when Kreider made his debut, and he had, I believe, five goals during that run as a rookie.

[02:00:19]

So good. The Rangers made some line changes, which they've tended to do throughout the playoffs. One of the biggest changes was on defense, where they moved Keanja Keandre Miller to... Well, they moved up Jacob Truba, technically, to the second pairing with Miller. I thought it was a little better because Keandre Miller, I think, is fantastic defensively. Not having him paired with Gustafson, you don't have that third pair that the Carolina Huracan can just go out there and just burn. Every single time you know when Truba and Gustafson are on the ice, the expected goals are going to go through the roof for the Huracan. That didn't happen because Keandre Miller was out there, even though they struggled a little defensively. Some of that's Truba because he hasn't been great. But I thought they were a lot better, and they figured, I like that pairing. You stick with that when you're going to game one against Florida Bot.

[02:01:04]

Part of it, too, by the way, is Carolina is very good. Yes. Jake Gensel is amazing. Again, in the playoffs because he always is. Jake Gensel, playoff Jake Gensel, the The saddest thing about playoff Jake Gensel is we haven't got more of it recently.

[02:01:19]

Let me look him up.

[02:01:20]

Look him up. One thing we were doing on the stream, Justin Fisher said, I picked two players, and if either of them score, he's going to gift a bunch of subs to the chat. The one guy I picked for the Hurricanes was Sebastian Aho. If we're going through Hurricanes, hey, they've been really good, but their seasons over, all that stuff, I think Aho deserves his flowers there because he was outstanding for most of the series. A dumb penalty here or there. But offensively, he is one of the most underrated stars in the whole league. It's just what he does. Because he plays in Carolina, he doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. But Aho was a star, and he scored last night.

[02:02:00]

On the Gensel conversation, he is sixth in goal scoring since his NHL debut.

[02:02:08]

In playoff. And here's the thing, how many goals and how many games? Because that's the most impressive part.

[02:02:14]

He has 38 Stanley Cup playoff goals in just 69 Stanley Cup playoff games, 67 points.

[02:02:23]

Tricidal is a fucking alien. He's crazy.

[02:02:26]

He has 39 goals in 59 games. So he's actually played fewer games than Gensel. And he has... In those 59 games, how many points? Let's take a guess. Take a guess. 59 Stanley Cup playoff games for Dreisetel. How many points?

[02:02:41]

Oh, my gosh. I'll double it. So I'll say 120.

[02:02:45]

Okay.

[02:02:45]

Less than that?

[02:02:48]

Probably.

[02:02:49]

105.

[02:02:51]

Okay. You guys are fuckers. 98. Which is still insane.

[02:02:55]

I expected him to be through the moon.

[02:02:57]

That is through the moon. What are you talking about? The best stat is last year's playoffs, two players finished tied for goals, goals scored in the playoffs. One of them was Jonathan Marcia. So he scored his final goal in Vegas' final game. Leon Dreisaitl was the other. He finished in the second round.

[02:03:19]

Dreisaitl's career, so 98 points in '59 career Stanley Cup playoff games. Over in '82 The game pace, that's 136 points.

[02:03:33]

With the- Holy shit. With the last note in the hurricanes before just some more just gushing over the Rangers, they were truly all in in this playoff run. Their list of UFA's now that the season is over, is Brett Pesce, Tony D'Angelo, braided Shay, Jalen Chatfield, Jake Gensel, Jordan Martinuk, Stefan Naisen, and Tevo Taravinen. That is a list of some of the best players on the hurricanes. Obviously, with all of those UFAs, a lot of them are going to come back, but a lot of them need new contracts. The RFAs are Seth Jarvis, Jack Jury, Marty Nietzsche. All of the big guys on this team need contracts, and this was their go-for-year, and it didn't work out.

[02:04:18]

They're rumored to be... There have been whispers about Nietzsche getting shot.

[02:04:20]

Let me add to that, Jesse. You know who else is a free agent? The entire coaching staff and Dawn Wadel.

[02:04:27]

For the way they played, there are got to be questions with the coaching staff. I feel like because we all love Rod and what he's done in Carolina, they've been very successful in this tenure. But when they get to the playoffs for their power play to be, it started off 0 for 16 in this series. That's a large reason you're down 3-0.

[02:04:49]

I mean, that's the series.

[02:04:51]

That's it.

[02:04:52]

The first three games, you lose them, you're 0 for 16. It's right there. For the way they play defensively, where they play man, a man defense. Man defense has never historically been successful in the recent NHL. Most of the teams that win the Stanley Cup or go to the Stanley Cup are hybrid teams. They play defensively, man/zone hybrid, or they're just strictly zoned. Then the low percentage shots they take. We can rack up 50 shots, but if three of them are only high danger, then that's a coaching problem, too.

[02:05:23]

They don't have the personnel for man. Carolina doesn't... I wouldn't say they have weaknesses, but they have soft spots.

[02:05:33]

If you don't have the personnel for men, is that not you're on your coach to switch it to a zone?

[02:05:37]

Well, I mean, Chatfield has been a really good surprise. Burns is big and tough and old. He's old. And D'Angelo, why did you get D'Angelo back?

[02:05:51]

We can fix him, said the fifth team. You already knew.

[02:05:56]

Is that a philosophical thing? We know what he can't do, but he can move the buck. All right, well, sometimes you got to defend a two goal lead in the third period. They don't have the worst decor in the league by any measure, but it's You go and look at some of the recent winners. They don't have that.

[02:06:20]

So are we looking at a team that was very well built for regular season success? And once they get to the playoffs and playoff hockey is different, they fall there.

[02:06:28]

I have an issue. I have an issue with that.

[02:06:31]

They've won a playoff series. What is it? Eight?

[02:06:33]

Let me tell you. Here's the issue I have. When I tweeted that the leaf should call Rod, you should at least call him, if you can, if you're allowed to. Hello, Rod. Hello, Rod. People were like, What do you want? Sheldon Keef 2.0?

[02:06:48]

Okay.

[02:06:49]

Regular season coach guy. Guys, here's Rod's record in the last six seasons. Lost in the third round, his first year as the head coach. Lost in the first round, his second year. Oh, man, that's COVID year.

[02:07:02]

What year is he starting?

[02:07:04]

1819. He was the assistant for six years before that. Becomes the head coach in the summer before 1819. And so 1819, third round. 1920, COVID, lost in the first round. 2021, lost in the second. 2021, sorry, 2021, 2022, lost in the second round. Last year, third round, this year, second round.

[02:07:27]

And my analysis of the team that's built for tremendous regular season success and all that comes back to recent memory of the Florida series loss and what happened this year in that you saw Florida. I get that he says they played close, but you see a lot of the same faults that happened in this ranger series where their defense is good, it's solid, but they're beat consistently in these dirty areas and the low percentage shots and their offense dies at some point.

[02:07:59]

I want to add to So hang on, hang on. Because I think you're right, and I think you're about to say something, but I want to jump in before you say it. Okay. I think that's a philosophy that is similar to what the one the Leaps had. They built this team similar to what the Leaps did. They weren't as top-heavy salary-wise. But you're talking about a team who built and played a lot of the same ways the Toronto Maple Leaps were trying to play, whether or not they accomplished it.

[02:08:24]

Dubis, on more than one occasion, I'm pretty sure, said that they hold the Carolina as somewhat of a standard in the league.

[02:08:33]

I think we're seeing that that theory has its merits, but it isn't the complete theory. It's not the path to success that it was theorized a decade ago.

[02:08:43]

Those six seasons under Brenda Moore, I counted seven series wins. Now, here I am as a lead fan, having an existential crisis. Is that actually good? No. Is that better than it sounds in my head?

[02:09:03]

Ask San Jose.

[02:09:05]

I don't know if you look at that tenure and I'm satisfied with the success. I know you read off a bunch of second round exits. Two final four appearances. Two final fours, and last year you got crushed, and the first one was closer than that, definitely. But I don't know if you look at that tenure and say, This hurricanes team has been over... Are they satisfied is what I'm trying to

[02:10:18]

Fifteen seconds.

[02:10:20]

Wow, there's a new Badboy coming out. I will be going to see that. Oh, am I on? Hi. I was watching the Badboy commercial, not the furniture shop. I was watching the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence commercial. I didn't realize they were doing another Bad Boys, and I'm excited about it. I'm not going to lie. Sometimes you need to go see a movie that you just watch your things explode, don't you? A lot of chirping going on in the chat here. We got some interesting chats. Somehow, the Quebec Nordiques have come up. Drew, Edmonton have ugly jerseys. Knux are very handsome. These are good chirps. These are good chirps. Adam, you're a bad boy. You know me. I like to go home and go to bed on time. Dangerous man. All right, here we go. Face off, and we are into the third period. This is going to be real interesting. Edmonton has had this game basically start to finish. Knucks are on the power play right now. Edmonton killed a five on three to end the second period, but Van is going to need to do a little better. Not a lot of shots on Stuart Skinner.

[02:11:47]

How do you only have nine shots through two periods? I think Vancouver needs to change that now. Everybody's fresh, no excuses. Volume Boom shots on Stuart Skinner. Volume. Plant butts in front of the net, get some tips, start scoring goals. You're never going to win if you're scoring nine shots through two periods. Now for the oilers. If I'm the coach, I just walk in the second intermission, I go, Great job, guys. More of that. And if you don't do more of that, I'm bag skating you tomorrow. But if you do do more of it, you're going to win the game. Blue-white flame gifted five memberships. Thank you, Blue-White flame. Really appreciate it. Alex Key, Bating me. Adam, Knux or Oilers. Who do I think wins this game? Well, based on what we see in the Oilers, power play just ended. 19:10 left in the third period, and it doesn't look like... The Canucks just did not get much going with that last minute in the power play. I think the Oilers are going to win tonight. They're looking like they want it more. That's just how I feel. And I would say that the Canucks, from the start of the second period onwards, two nights ago, looked like they were going to win the game.

[02:13:03]

They just wanted it more. Ultimately, it's really, really hard to win in the playoffs. I know we say that all the time. It's hard to win two games in a row. It's hard to win three in a row. I don't know. K-fly, I've only had four beers. Nine shots sounds like a lot. Nine shots Nine shots at the bar is a lot, and not recommended. Nine shots, well, not recommended unless you want to have a brutal hangover. Connect will make a comeback. We'll see. They've come back in every other game in this series. I can't remember teams being up by more than a goal or two for very long. Not in this series. Tell what the Skibby D, Fortnite, Toilet Riz, Baby Grunk, Rizzing up Livy Dunn while Fantom taxing a grimace shake. Genzy language, man. It's wild. It's out of control. Miller taking the face off in the offensive zone. I think he's lined up against dry settle there. They win. But here's the thing. Edmondson has been very quick to get out to the point and cover off Quinn Hughes and Phil Hronik, and it's worked. Almost a little play there for Miller and Petterson.

[02:14:28]

And now you have a two on one with the Edmonton Oilers against Phil Ronick. I don't think that buck went in, but it sure looked close. Jc, thoughts on Austin Matthews not getting this Elke. I mean, one of these days, I think he should get one. Was he the best defensive forward in the league? Best defense while offense? I mean, I don't know. I'd actually like to look at the numbers on that. But oh, yeah, you can never go wrong with giving it to Sasha Barcov because he's always awesome. I don't know. I'm not upset about it. I don't get mad about awards very often, except for that one debate Jesse and I had a couple of weeks ago about Ted Lindsay. I think it would be weird if Matthews, with 69 goals, walks away with only the Rocket Richard. I'll put it that way. I think they can give him the Ted Lindsay, and that's voted on by the players, so we'll see. But yeah, I think he should get a selky at some point. I think a lot of people don't give him the credit he deserves for how good he is on defense.

[02:15:38]

And it's not just me saying it, look at the advanced numbers. They're spectacular. But Here's the trophy I'd like him to win, Stanley Cup. Don't have a lot of room left in my life for anything else. That's how I'm feeling these days. What happened to the clock? I thought it was supposed to be in today's stream. Apparently, it's S John. It's really hard to do, apparently. I would really like to find a workaround, though. Here we go. I wonder... Yeah, I got to figure that out. I'd like to figure that out. We'll have to we have to figure that out internally. Listen, we're a small company. There's only so many man hours to go along, and we have a ton of content coming out every day. It should be higher on the priority list. It's just that we don't have a lot of... We don't have a lot of wriggle room right now. There's a lot going on. I will have to update the clock in stream, as Justin Fisher says from the SDPN account. 17:04, 17:03, 17:02, 17:01, 17 minutes, 16:59 left in the third period. That's what I'll have to do. And I'll clap at face offs for you, too.

[02:16:56]

I think Hoover just got its 10th shot. Not great. Don't you have an IT sponsor? Yeah, you know what? We do. Mcal, IT services. We should ask them, Hey, guys, put a clock into our livestream. Do your job. Does producer Drew work full-time for Sdpn? Yes. Yes, he does. Yeah, he does a lot of stuff. He's doing a lot of work. Everybody, especially around play-offs, everybody brings it up. It's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot on the families. It's a lot of scheduling. It's a lot of everything. There's a reason why Steve needed a break. Plus, having a book and a newborn and all that. Oh, an Edmondon scores. Nuj this time. First-line, finally getting it done for the Oilers. That's Hyman and Nuj with a goal. I think McDavid's got a couple of assists. It's 4 to 1, and it should be. This is an Archer-Schvila's fault. It's everybody else on the Vancouver Knux. I'm just wondering where they are tonight. The Susie-Meyers pair, interestingly enough, was last in expected goals among Vancouver defense pairings after game three when Susie got suspended, and they are looking rough tonight. This is not a good night for them.

[02:18:29]

Yeah. Sussi does not do a good enough job tying up Nugent Hopkins lifting sticks. Edminton has been really good about lifting sticks. Poke check here, stick lift there. And now, Vancouver is really going to have to... They're really, really going to have to open this game up, which really does favor the oilers and their skill as well. And it's difficult when you don't have the line match capability as well. You don't have last change. 16:05, 16:03, 16:02, 16:01, 16 minutes left in the third period. We are 16 minutes away from game seven, ladies and gentlemen. Is your ROI on these games the time and money? You guys should just watch these game in your own personal comfort. No, nick, they're actually great for the channel because I get to talk to you. We got 1100 people in here. We wouldn't have that otherwise. That's a good thing. It's Saturday night, baby. You could have been anywhere, but you're right here. I love it. Knux have been absolutely toothless. They have. They have. Yeah. Your stream is actually ahead of the ESPN one. That's bad. That's bad. It's not great. There's 15:31 left. Here come the oilers again.

[02:20:23]

And person with no name, but you've been on this stream before, and I've seen your face, has gifted five memberships. Thank you for doing I believe your name is Gift. Adam, Canucks are stars. Well, Alex, the Canucks would have to win. I'm assuming you're assuming that they'll win. The Orcas are lost in the sea tonight. Too much oil in the water. I see what you did there, Pats. Skr was dropping the the gift bombs, too, in the chat. I think it worked. He's getting that karma he's been looking for. So we are 5 to 10 seconds ahead of ESPN. How crazy is that? I did not know that. Is ESPN running it on TV tonight, or is it just the ESPN, like ESPN Plus? Is that the app? I'd like to know. 14:49 left in the third period. I mean, I think we're going back to Vancouver Monday night, aren't we? Unless there's some crazy comeback. Listen, as a leaf fan, 4:1 is the worst lead a leaf team can have. But these are not the leafs. Aaron Gray's power rank the remaining teams for Cup favorites. I'm going to go Dallas, New York, Yeah, Dallas, New York, Florida.

[02:22:08]

I'm disrespecting the Florida Panthers. Should I move them up? Because I think Florida is going on the Cup final. Okay, Dallas, Florida, New York, Edmonton, Vancouver. And the reason I'm going to give it to Edmonton, and I'll tell you why, because I've been really impressed with Vancouver in these playoffs, I'll give it to Edmonton to go to the conference final before Vancouver because of how they played tonight. This is a repeatable performance by the Edmonton Oilers. This is what we expect the Edmonton Oilers to do. I expect Connor McDavid's line to score. They really hadn't through the first five games of this series. Yeah, it's tough because I'm blown away by how good the Knux have been. And I think a lot of people are, even oilers fans, we're like, Oh, we're going kill these guys. You haven't killed these guys. Even if you win in seven, you haven't killed them. Oh, dry saddle, knocked over by Susie. I don't know why Cain is calling for a breakway. That is not a breakway. Or that's not a Yeah, you're not getting a penalty on that play. No way. So wait. Listen, I'm not saying I would be upset if the Canucks make it to the...

[02:23:29]

Are you You guys are mad at me. How dare you abandon the Canucks. I'm not abandoning them. Okay, you asked me to power rank. I power ranked. Edmonton has been here before. Vancouver really hasn't, at least not with any regularity. I'm going to go veteran on this. I am. Why is the Blue Telecom Sports Network red and the Red Telecom Sports Network blue? That is a good question, Dean. Corporate buyouts, my friend. I think that's the answer. When it's the oilers versus stars in the conference finals, will you still cheer for the Canucks? See, Jesse Blake in the chat calling me a traitor. I am a interested casual observer. I was absolutely rooting for the Canucks in round one because I'm going Canadian teams. I'm trying to stay as neutral as in round two. And in round three, whichever Canadian team makes it through, yeah, I'll be rooting for them. And I think they're going to be in tough, to be honest. Benedict Adam. I hope dry saddle was wearing a cup. Yeah, I hope so, too. 7, 6. Oilers suck, actually. Well, we'll see. I love my non-biased streamer. Thank you, Red Tooth. I appreciate that.

[02:25:10]

Shadow mask. I'd be shocked if Jessie didn't have a bet on the oilers. Jessie, do you have a bet on the oilers? Have you put anything on at BetMGM? I'd love to know. I'd love to know what, Jessie. Jessie, what are you betting on right now? Benadil. Benadil, excuse me. $50 on Vancouver, come back. Lock it in right now. Yeah, if that were to happen, probably pay for a house down payment. I just don't see it. Knux have just not been themselves tonight, and that's Susie Meyer's pairing has been ugly. Ogly, ugly, ugly. Jesse's not admitting any bets. If we're cheering for handsomeness, I'm on team Leon Dreisaitl. Man's handsome. And it makes it more handsome when he's angry. 12:48 left in the third period, ladies and gentlemen. Adam is a traitor. I am not a traitor. Hey, man, I've been here for every single Vancouver Knux fan, or sorry, Knux game, not for every single Knux fan. And I have rooted these guys on. Been very, very impressed with the way they've played. You know, it's going to be interesting is, whichever of these teams goes to the offseason after this series, The question will be, how do you get better?

[02:26:51]

And Edmonton's path to being better is probably a little more clear than Vancouver's. You probably like Edmonton to get an all-star goalie. If that were If they're out there, if they could have anything, give me a goalie that plays 50 games is going to have a 9-20 save percentage. That would be ideal for Edmonton. Vancouver, it's a little less obvious because, yeah, it'd be great to have your starter be healthy all the way through the playoffs, but it hasn't mattered. Maybe a little more scoring up front. Maybe. Maybe a little more mobility on the back-end, but you're nitpicking. Pretty balanced team. Blue-white flame. Game seven is going to be the Ian Cole redemption arc. I sure hope so for his sake. How many Alan Walsh clients left in the playoffs? Good question. I don't have his list in front of me, but I know that Phil Hronik is one of them. Adam Wild. Misunderstood hero or treacherous traitor? Misunderstood hero. Okay. I'm trying to do the best by both fan bases here, and you're both giving me shit. You're both giving me shit. Edmonton fans are mad at me. Knux fans are now mad at me.

[02:28:12]

Adam, as a New Jersey Devils fan, do you want them to hire Sheldon Keef? I think Sheldon Keef is a good coach, and I think he'd be taking over a very good team. I will root for Sheldon Keef because he seems like a good guy. I I didn't love the lack of adjustments he made in the playoffs. I also didn't like who they hired as assistant coaches. And by the way, is Sheldon the guy hiring the assistants? With Toronto, I just don't know. Jimmy Abraham. Adam, say my name. Hello, Jimmy Abraham. Adam, going to need to see the grippers to apologize. Aaron, I am firm on my price. My gripper price is a thousand likes. And until we get to them, the grippers will remain sheathed in my sock. Die a hero or live long enough to become a villain. Traitor. There are rumors of Jay Woodcroft to the Devils. Now, that would be interesting. That would be interesting. Jay Woodcroft doing his Jay Woodcroft pose. Cedene Magic, 15. The only saving grace here is that Skinner can't really take any confidence into game seven because he hasn't had to do anything. It's actually... I don't disagree with that.

[02:29:47]

He'll feel good about the win, but you know how brains work. That little voice inside of you that gives you the anxiety voice, where it's like, Yeah, but you didn't contribute. And you got to shut that off if you're Stuart Skinner. You got to make sure that that's not how you think. When you go to bed tonight, you need to be like, No, I was a part of this, too. Adam is going to be Mark Messier, 2.0 to Knux fans. No, I am not. No, I am not. Listen, if you were to ask Knux fans when this season started, who was going to finish higher? Most Knuck fans would not have said the Knux. Let's Let's be honest. The fact that they are here, this is a house money season, and they could go all the way to the West final. They're a win away. They're going to need to start scoring here. Here's one of my hipster favorite hockey players, Phil DiGiuseppe. This guy. Big fan of the mobility there. Besser got it. D. Giuseppe versus De Arne. Bit of a match-up issue there. Not going to lie. Although, doesn't everybody have that against De Arnault?

[02:31:01]

There's Besser along the boards. Out to Myers, he backed off too quick. Suter over to Hughes. A little too deep for Hughes. And De Arnault ties it up along the boards. Besser out to the point for Myers. Myers, nice little play. And a good tip, too, by Pew Suter. Skinner had it, though. That's exactly what Vancouver has been needing to do all game. What Myers and Suter did right there. Please more of that for them, for goodness sakes. You can't have a goalie with less than nine safe %. There you go. More shots. Miller right to the chest. De Arnault gives Pew Sueter a nice little hug. Pth in our chat, The oilers are humiliating the Knux tonight, and we'll defeat them come Monday. So what are you cutting a promo for the WWE? They will defeat the Knux. You'd be good at it. Adam, I thought you were a Canucks fan. Guys, come on now. I'm a Leifs fan, which means I'm worse. You all can make fun of me. That's the whole point here. It's a Leifs fan doing a Canucks oilers series, and you can all laugh. Because no matter what happens, it's better than the Lefs.

[02:32:30]

By the way, looks like Adam Wild, misunderstood hero or treacherous traitor. Misunderstood hero wins 64 %. Guys, thank you. Thank you. Wow, brutal turn against Adam tonight. Hey, man. No, no. I won't have it. Njc, it's true. Adam doesn't like good NHL teams. Adam was anti-predators because Nashville embarrassed him. That's why he was rooting for the Knux. That's true. The Knucks or the Preds did embarrass me because after the U2 thing, which I thought was ridiculous, they were like, How about we don't lose a game in regulation for 16 straight? Just like they drew it up. But at the end of the day, until Nashville learns how to score goals, they're not going to go very far. And their team defense is pretty sick. So let's say they sign Stamcoast this summer. And maybe someone else. That's a bit of a threat, that team. I wonder if UC Sarras is going to get traded. They got the other guy, whose name evades me right now. Kevin Lankinen? Is that who it is? Anyway, long story short, he's a good goalie. They want to use him. Does UC suit up for somebody else next year, and can it be the Leaps?

[02:34:17]

Heather, it's my Mental Health Awareness Month, and addiction is a part of my mental health. Can I get a shout out to my avs and producer Drew from Heather? Heather, I'm sorry for how this season ended, but I think the... First off, shout out to you for acknowledging that. Shout out to your avs, and shout out to Nathan McKinnon, who said, Oh, yeah, it's nice that we got this far, but it doesn't matter because we didn't win. Oh, yeah, we did a bunch of stuff right, but it doesn't matter because we didn't win. Because Nathan McKinnon freaking gets it in a way that I've never heard. I wish I heard more of that. I'm tired of hearing, We learned a lot of lessons. I'm tired of hearing, We're right there with the leafs, I want a guy like Nathan McKinnon who's like, Yeah, the process is great. Cool thing about the process is it should lead to results, and it didn't this year, and I'm pissed about that. I freaking love that guy. So shout out to you. And shout out to Nathan McKinnon. And shout out to producer Drew as well, who works his ass off.

[02:35:18]

As much as we make fun, that guy works a lot. The Avalanche are going to have to eat more Chickpea pasta this offseason. I got to say this. The Avalanche are going to have to get some support for McKinnon because obviously, And Chouchi can be being out, and for the reasons he was out, they're going to have to figure something out there. Rantin and McKinnon, great. You got to figure out some depth scoring. I wonder if a guy, especially at wing, a guy like Tyler Toffoli makes sense for the Avalanche. This offseason. Good for 25, 30 goals. They probably need a centerman, too. But the abs are never far away. Casey Middlestat, is he your Is he your long term answer? Oh, baby, what a goal. Evander Cain with a goal. Yeah, this is a wiping of the floor here. This is a statement game for the oilers. Not a good game for the Knux. Bad face off. Yikes. Oh, wow. What a shot by Cain, too. Spectacular. Say Tyler Toffoli three times in the and Robert shows up. True. Wow. Wow. Damn, dude. This is rough. Hey, by the way, a little programming note.

[02:37:16]

For game seven, Jessie Blake will be taking over this stream, not because I don't love you, but because I had plans dating back to Christmas for Monday night. And of course, we got a game seven in this series. So we might giggle here. No. Pod Kholzen had a good little chance there. So Jesse Blake will be doing game seven as a stream, and I will miss you. And I apologize. And I will be back for the Western conference. But I, unfortunately, will not be here for the Monday Nighter. And the Monday Nighter might be early. Hearing rumors that it might be six o'clock. Eastern Standard. That's bonkers. No, please don't add Adam. Oilers in seven only because history repeats. By the way, somebody, Nikola Jokić in the chat, Vancouver getting vibes from games in Boston 2011. Adam, no energy whenever the oilers score. Guys, it's mostly toasty. It was the fifth goal that And they scored. And I was looking up the abs roster. I was doing stuff, okay? I don't know. Am I supposed to be like, every time? It's five to one. You're going to win the game unless you really blow it.

[02:38:45]

Vancouver would essentially have to score a goal every single minute to tie this game. Not happening. This baby's over. I Here we go. 4:55 left in the third period. Vancouver, which was just its 16th shot of the game. It's just not been a great It's been a great one. Not been a great one. You are cursing the Knux. Why am I cursing the Knux? I'm not cursing the Knux. Who's doing the wave in the chat? Is Jessie in the chat? Do we get the wave going? Adam can't do game seven because he'll be in the building cheering on the Knux. I will not be. I will not be. I'm going to a show that my brother and sister-in-law bought for us a long, long time ago. That is Canadian rock legend Neil Young. That's what I'm doing. So I will be at the Neil Young concert. Neil Young and Crazy Horse. I have seen him before, and he's fabulous. I've seen him once with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and once at a festival. He played the song Down by the River, and it lasted 20 minutes. I loved it. A bit of a bad giveaway by Myers there.

[02:40:18]

I thought that was the goal. Goal number 6 for the oilers, but we had a broken stick. Why do sticks always break right when? Right when. These carbon shaft sticks are worst. You remember when they used to have the metal ones where you just change out the insert? Why don't they take these carbon sticks and put a little metal on the inside? Not just full metal, but a little metal. Neil Young should play Where the Streets Have No Name. Yeah, that seems like a Neil Young thing. Anyway, I wouldn't normally miss this for a concert, but if I had bought these tickets myself, I would have been like, Okay, maybe I should sell them and go to whatever. But my brother and sister-in-law, who know how much we love Neil, it's going to be a special night. They have two kids, and they just had a baby six months ago, and they need to get out. It wouldn't be the worst to have a night off. Jesse Blake is going to take over, and he's going to rock it. He's going to do amazing. He does a great stream. Boy, oh, boy. Vancouver is going to have to do something.

[02:41:37]

I don't know what they do in game seven. You're going to ride that crowd's energy a little bit, but you got to get in the game faster. They were not in the first period, the last three games, honestly. Last game, they picked it up in the second. You need to start strong in Vancouver, and you need to put Peddles on the Metal if you're going to get back and get this series going the way you want it to go. Edmonton just dominated dominated top to tail tonight. We got two minutes to go, and there's not even... Yeah. Oh, we're going to have a fight. Zdorow and Cain, I think. They're just having a big old hug. Big old hug fest. They're going to send them both off. Will Jessie clap or have a clock? I think Jessie will have a clock. So there you go. Adam is bailing on the Canucks. I am not bailing on the Canucks. John Gibson with a super chat. Thank you for the $10, John. I appreciate that. Listen, if it's not the Canucks that make it through, I want to say this. I've really loved hanging out with you, Canucks fans.

[02:42:42]

You've been very nice to me. Really appreciate it. It's been very cool. If you do make it through, I'll see you in the West final. Oilers fans, as we have gotten to know each other on this level, I really enjoyed getting to know you, too. And I just want to say, if it is you in the Western conference final, I'm looking forward to hanging out more. Jesse has a clock and chill music. Well, there you go. You will get some clocks. Jesse has a clock. That works for me. We got to get a Timer set. Skr, and with a five minute or a five dollar, is Adam bailing on the Knux. Stop being mean to Adam or what is this Bale City? Skr is trying to get more. He's trying to get game seven, Carmen, now. They're giving super chats away. There's Alberta beef on the ice? You know what I'll do? I We got to figure out the timing issue. I'll get Jesse on it. We got to figure this out for the West. Brysepticon, five gifted memberships. Well, thank you so much. Actually, you gave... Oh, that's your second set of... Wow. Wow.

[02:44:30]

Thank you. Thank you so much. By the way, those memberships mean a lot. So anybody that gets those, try out our VIP episodes. You're going to love it. Edmonton Oiler fans are just going to have a great night. It's Saturday night. It's Edmonton. The weather is nice, and the oilers are a game away after dominating. Damn. I'm sorry, Adam, but What does that mean? Team DAS. L-o-l, Adam is looking a little more forward to the oilers than the Knux. That is not true. Ladies and gentlemen, I have been neutral the entire series, and I resent the fact that both sides are calling me not neutral. I resent it. Cj Cable, VIP episodes are great. Lots of fun. I'm glad to hear that. Adam flew his new helicopter to Edmonton. No, Steve's got the helicopter. So update on the poll, is Adam bailing on the Knux? Stop being mean to Adam, or what is this Bale City? What is this Bale City just won at 59 %? Guys, Listen, you're mad at me, and you can't even get me a thousand likes to show off my grippers. I got them all shined up for you, too.

[02:45:52]

You know? Come on now. One 33 left in the third period. Doesn't that mean you're actually just neutral? Yeah, I guess if both fan bases are mad at you, you're probably neutral. Vgk Jamieson, your Natalie Adam, gifted me a subscription. Please tell her thank you. I did sign up to renew. You guys rock. I'm thrilled to hear that, and she will be thrilled to hear that. Screw Sportsnet and TSN, and Sdpn, freaking love these guys. Well, thank you. I appreciate that. Bale City, The Population Adam. Saudi Steve still doesn't make as much as Adam does. Yeah, no kidding. A thousand likes is a lot, but the Knux fans can be generous and leave them on the way out. Come on, Adam. 600 likes is basically a thousand. No, it's not. Nice try, though. Listen, maybe in the West final, I'll get them. Maybe in the West final, I'll get them. Skr with another five gifted memberships. Thank you so much, SKR. You have been extraordinarily generous, and it is much appreciated. And by the way, SKR doesn't choose who those go to, so it goes to Oilers and Knux fans alike. As long as both sides hate you equally, Adam, you're good.

[02:47:14]

600 likes does not equal one gripper, Nathan. Nice try. We got 15 seconds left in this game. Baby, this was an Edmonton Oilers masterclass. When they talk about this team as a Stanley Cup favorite, this is a game They got a reference. Slow, boring for the first couple of periods. And then they just... As soon as they got a little crack of that door open, they were able to get the Knux to cheat, to offense, and they took advantage of it. Score effects were not even a thing in this game. That's how deadly Edmondson was. And let me say, Stuart Skinner only had to make 14 saves. I mean, he had to make 15, but 14 of them actually were saved. And he's going to feel good after this. The Knux didn't test them. They didn't test them at all. I don't know, man. Not great. So game seven, ladies and gentlemen. Jesse Blake is taking over for the game. And then I'm ripping the whole Western Conference final. Steve will have the East final, and then Steve will do the Stanley Cup final. And Jesse is going to go and do some pretty sick...

[02:48:31]

He's doing his pre-games, which will be great, too. Guys, I've really enjoyed this. I just want to say because this is my last part of doing this series through six games, I have thoroughly enjoyed doing these with you. Knux fans, Oilers fans, thank you for taking the time to tune in for me because I've really, really enjoyed hanging out with you. The chatter back and forth has been good, too. You guys kept it. I know that, listen, there's been some pot shots taken for sure. But nobody's made it personal and got weird, so I really appreciate that as well. Thank you for coming out and hanging out. And thank you for everybody that signed up for VIP, everybody who gifted VIPs. It means a lot to the business. It means a lot to us. I want to shout out producer Hayden, who's done a great job this series. Justin Fish, who has done a great job this series. Robert Malloy, who's done a great job this series. You guys have been fantastic. I'm sorry that I'm bailing on game seven, but I am bailing. I will say hi to Neil Young for for you. Listen, if I had to bail on you for anybody, isn't Neil Young perfect?

[02:49:34]

Canadian legend. Jesse will be with you Monday, and he will kick ass, and this would be an amazing game seven, so please enjoy it. Love you guys. I'm going to I'm going to get off now. It's my Saturday night as well. And guess what crazy stuff I'm going to get into? That's right, my pajamas, because I'm going to bed. Love you all. Have a good one.
