delight to me fight it and see my wedding

[00:02:40]

I see I wait for love raise me up and see my wedding yes, yes, yes. Hi. Hey, everyone. How you doing? Welcome to SDPN for another strum. A little stream, if you will. The Eastern Conference final. Are the Leafs involved? No. No, they are not. Who do we got? For the second straight year, we have the Florida Panthers, who slipped the Eastern Conference final last year, beat the brakes off the Carolina hurricanes, and this year they get to take on the New York Rangers, who this year beat the Carolina Hurricanes, cats and rangers. Click, like, click subscribe. Tell all your friends you can do super chats in this one. I'm probably only going to be reading super chats. I'm going to try to read others, but there's just way too many comments in these streams and you can also gift memberships. I'll talk about that in a minute. First super chat we get is from all those hard working construction workers. Steve, did you name your daughter after Ilya Labushkin? Yes, I named my son after Leo Komarov, and I named my daughter after Ilya Labushkin. Ilya Labushkin is not in this game. You know, what's with the Toronto centric media?

[00:05:04]

What's with the media? Can we just focus on the two teams playing tonight, New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers? People are asking me about my jersey. First and foremost, I was wearing my floorball champions jersey, er, shirt, t shirt that I got from winning floorball two at John Boy media in New Jersey. John Boy media, Rangers fans. But that shirt was deemed to be too white and it made my face look strange. So I changed into this jersey. Your garden. Your garden is a hockey team in Sweden. Matt Sundine played for them. Gabriel Landiscog played for them. You know who else played for them? Mika Zabanajad. It's true. Mika Zabanajad. Part of the history of your garden. And he has a burger place in Sweden called broaderness. And it was extremely good. Extremely good. Your garden. Oh, someone said, boo, Sweden. In the chat. I was like, why? Who hates Sweden? And then I see the name is Etu Carvine. Oh, he's finished. Oh, that's why they're finished. No one hates Sweden. Oh, no. Never mind the Finns. And Mark Spector. Is Mark Spector finish? You have to ask the question. Shout out. Steve's mighty might roar in the chat.

[00:06:54]

So super chats and memberships. I was talking about that. Super chats get you pushed to the top if you have a comment or a question or whatever. It also just straight up helps the channel to do so. We're heading into the summer. The summer is a hockey based company's winter. And we got a store or nuts. We got a store. Our nuts. As for memberships, memberships to this YouTube channel get you a few things. They get you. Sorry, I'm very distracted by the hair commercial that I'm seeing with William Carlson and Matthew Kach. Memberships get you a green name in our chat. They get you special access to emojis. We do three episodes of the Steve Dangle podcast per week. If you become a member, that means you become an SDP VIP, which gives you access to the SDP VIP episode, which is our fourth episode of the week. It's usually just us horsing around and clowning and being pals. And if you become an SDP VIP ad free, that means you get all four episodes of the SDP every single week, ad free. If you're already a member, you know what you can do is if you go to the bottom right corner of the chat box, there's a little dollar bill sign.

[00:08:19]

You can click there, and it gives you the option to. You could do a super sticker if you want. You could do a super chat, um, where you can. I don't know, you can call me a dork if you really want. Or you can ask a question, or you can gift memberships to people if you're feeling joyous and. And lovely and generous. Um, you could pledge that if a certain player scores, you'll donate x amount of memberships. Justin Fisher likes to do that. And a super chat that we just got from Niko. Steve, I have a soccer game in 45 minutes. Can I get a let's go for good luck? Let's go. Hey, you know what they allow at soccer fields, at least at the side? Your phone. Don't turn this off. You think just cause. You think just cause you got a soccer game means you can turn the stream off? Are you anti bad? Are you anti enjoying yourself? Are you anti hockey? Are you anti Saskatchewan? Wait. Wait. Friggin. Are you anti small business? I think you might be. I think you might be. No, you can't. Can't turn it off. It also says on my little timeline, we.

[00:09:47]

Sloan, you became an SDP VIP. Shout out, you and Kaden. SDP VIP ad free. So, question in the chat, does your wife ever get mad at you? For screaming Steve. So she used to. And that's why we. We couldn't do night of videos. Or it's part of the reason why we couldn't do night of videos. Now we just sleep in an ocean of white noise machines. We have two kids. They never wake up because of my videos. Wife never wakes up because of my videos anymore. There's a decent amount of soundproofing in here. There's no amount of soundproofing you could do unless you like. Unless I had real big budgets. You just need the white noise machine. Steve Dangles Mighty might roar. No, no, sorry. Steve Dangles Mighty roar. See you. You ruined the bit by spelling it right. Brad Marchand screwed it up. Steve Dangles Mighty roar just says roar. Madison Square Garden. We are 90 seconds away. Rangers, your president's trophy winners, hosting the Florida Panthers coolest roof in hockey. Well, coolest roof in the NHL. Steve Dangles Mighty Roar. Are you still the Riz King? Steve? I got two kids. You tell me.

[00:11:24]

You know what I mean? You know what I mean? I'm a dad. You know what I mean? Sean McKenzie's on my TV. Annoyingly handsome. Sportsnet has several annoyingly handsome men. Like, obnoxiously. And they're nice. They're really nice. And whenever I talk to them, I'm like, shut up. I get mad. You can't have it all. Like, you either got to have, like, a nice personality or be a complete rocket. You can't have both. Sean McKenzie has both. Kyle Bukoskas has both. Dave Amber, one of the most jacked men in the universe, should be a total jerk. Sweetheart. Absolute sweetheart. And one of the funnest guys to watch hockey with. Ever. Ever. You think I get jacked up watching hockey? That. That gentleman is excitable, to say the least. We get a battle of two incredible goalies. Igor Shasturkin, Sergei Bobrovsky, producer. Drew just said, what's your first goal prediction? I'm going to throw $5 on it. Vinnie Trocheck, Vinny Tro. Check. Shout out the Adam Graves jersey there. Love, gravy. Tyler said, loved listening to your book earlier this month. Thank you. And if you search hockey rants and raves by Steve Dangle Glynn with the publisher HarperCollins, you will see my second book, which is set to come out October 15.

[00:13:21]

Oh, there's a link to it in the description. Attaboy, Drew. Attaboy, Drew. Drew, Drew, Drew, Drew. Uh, Steve Dangle's mighty roar. What are your thoughts on Brad Marshand? Boy, he sure said a big old bunch of the quiet parts out loud talking about like, yeah, people get hurt, or you try to hurt guys in hockey to give yourself a competitive advantage. And then apparently he was also like, yeah, I sort of flubbed a few things so I could play in game seven. A lot of players wouldn't get away with that. But like, brad Marchand, they're like, ah, he's a grown man. He's in his thirties. It's okay. There's no accountability in hockey. Amazing kook 143. There's only one thing to say. Let's go Rangers. And that is from an SDP VIP. If you want bottom right corner, you can upgrade to SDP vip ad free, which I encourage you to do. Man, this anthem singer is just deep eye contact in the camera. Kyle Taminen, Sheldon Keef hired by the devils. That was fast. I actually shot a video on Sheldon Keef getting hired by the devils producer. Drew is going to edit that tomorrow morning.

[00:15:01]

Maybe tonight. You need you. Need you. A man needs you. 7 hours. 7 hours. I know. Yeah. Sorry, I forgot you're a dad. I'm quoting Polly walnuts from I almost said Jersey Shore. Sopranos, slightly different. Bobroski is eight and three in these playoffs. Shasturkin, eight and two. The Selkie winner. Sasha Barkov, Artemi Panarin, he. I don't think he won anything, but he makes a lot of money and scores a lot of points. Rangers, Panthers Eastern Conference final. The winner punches a ticket to the Stanley cup final. And the puck is dropped. Puck in the Panthers zone. Oh, big hit on Reinhardt very early on from crider. If Reinhardt was a goalie, his knee would be done by now. Ecblad up the ice. Beautiful pass. This is going to be a partial three on two for the Panthers. Already broken up the Rangers driving physical play in the early moments of this game. Barkov. Oh, dear. Miscommunication between Shasturkin and his defenders. Shot from the point and he gobbles it up for a d zone face off for the Rangers. That was forsling who put it on. No, it wasn't. The camera went to forsling for some reason.

[00:16:37]

It wasn't forcing. Or was it? Here's the problem. I know the shape of the Leafs. Like I could barely be looking at the screen. And I know all of them. It's gonna take me a little moment to know all the players here. I obviously know who they all are, but to know them, to see them immediately by the jersey number, by their shape, I'm gonna hiccup a little bit, but I'm gonna get better as the series goes. No Matt Rempy, by the way, which I'm a little surprised by. I thought the Rangers would want to set the physical tone. Oh, Panthers. Oh, Virhegi. Where's the puck? Behind the net. Rangers survive. Oh, boy. They're not crisp to start this game. Looking a little nervous. Oh, boy. Oh. Rangers out with numbers. Shot. Wide rebound. Bob sprawling. Zabanda. Chad kicks it to Panarin. Panthers come up with it, though. Good pace. Opening. Two minutes. Good pace. Here come the Panthers on stop by Shasturkin. Here comes Lafrenure with speed turned around. Nick cousins out there for the fourth line of the Panthers. Tough fourth line. Bobbles the puck, though, in deep. Shister can out of his net to play it again.

[00:18:38]

This time he gives it to a teammate. Always recommended Panthers hold the line. Apparently not. They turn it right back over. And MSG is alive. Loud. Let's go. Rangers chance out of the net to play the puck, but he drops his stick. Rangers get it. They avoid disaster, but the Rangers still have to puck. They're pressing heedle, giving chase. Kako, you got an opportunity here. Someone get to the front of the net. Kako. Rangers good possession here. Oh, he'll worked over there by forsling. It was forsling who took that shot. My bad. Ryan Lindgren dumps it. Eckblad. Oh, over his stick. But the Rangers are changing, so the Panthers recover enough to at least dump it. They got some tired bodies out there on the ice. Key. Andre Miller into the slot. Turns it over. Anton Lindell leading the rush by himself. Shot high and wide. Geez, can we get a whistle here so I can read some stuff? Zabanajad. Well, this might be a whistle. A goal is a whistle. Wide. Zabandjad hit up high. Wanted a call. Buddy, you're in the Eastern Conference final. You're gonna have to try a little harder than that.

[00:20:18]

Panthers flipping it up and out. Rangers after a difficult opening couple minutes. Dictating play a little bit now. Steve Dangles. Oh, never mind. Two on one for the Ranger. Shot. Stopped by Bob and his helmet comes off. And we get a whistle here. Four and a half minutes in. Yeah, I thought that puck hit him in the pad. Oh, Kaczuk rocked. Choke. Trocheck there. What happened here with Bobrovsky? I want to see a replay. I thought that him in the pad and then his helmet or his mask flies off. Oh, no. Oh, it hit him in the helmet and then bounced down. Steve Dangles mighty Roar. Elias Lindholm will be a Boston Bruin. Okay, Cassie. Hey, Steve. Hate to be that person, but on the pod you said Sullivan and Cooper were splitting. Sullivan is trying Am USA's coach. Then it says, sullivan is Team USA's coach. Listen, we make mistakes. Take it from me, we make mistakes. Death eater 91. Welcome to the VIP death Eater. Also pre ordered your book and upgraded the ad free. You're the best. Let's go. Oh, Rangers attacking in the slot. Trojek almost made drew some money. Rangers can't hold the line.

[00:21:56]

You said. I am once again asking for the ability to get the vip podcast apps. Please. What do you mean? SDP VIP is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. I'm confused by what you mean. Let me know how I can help. Thank you to Duke. Ding, ding. Who is an SDP VIP ad free. And your picture is macho man Randy Savage. You know the way to my heart. Rangers try to force a turnover in the Panthers zone. Panthers survive it. Oh, they dump it. And that'll be an icing call 1431 to go in the first period. Ryan Lindgren always looks so pissed off. He's just got a really intense face. Travis Shaw saying congrats to talk it on the Jack Adams award. Yeah, just won. About an hour ago, Justin Fisher texted me. Stephen, do you want to play a game? Pick a player for both teams. If they score, I will drop ten gift subs. Okay. For the Rangers, I will continue with trocheck. And for the Panthers, I'm going to say for Hagee, he's already had a pretty good chance. Truba up the middle, misses the intended target. Oh. Ecblad taken down. Is this going to be the first penalty of the game?

[00:23:32]

No, it is not. Rangers get it. Shoot it. Blocked. This will be a real interesting discussion if the Rangers score on this possession here. Keandre Miller. Puck doesn't make its way through. Teresenko. Ekblad. Reinhardt, he's got a man in the middle. Fires it across the slot and wide. They lose the zone. No Ms. No mistakes allowed. Steve, for shame. You're telling me. Patrick Innis. Fire. Trilliving higher. Blake. We're going to the Stanley cup finals. As in Jesse Blake. Is Jesse going to the Stanley cup final in 167? I thought he was in the first round. That's incredible. He's been to the cup final a few times in that series, and he always falls a little short. Didn't he lose in game seven once? Like, heartbreaking. He keeps coming close. We're in a tv timeout right now, by the way. Click like, click subscribe. Tell all your friends. Tell them all. Tell them all. Got it going on. Oh. Producer Drew says, which coach would you rather play for, Laviolette or Paul Maurice? Paul. Prison rules Paul. I think he's probably day in, day out, way more fun. That doesn't mean Laviolet's bad at his job, by the way.

[00:25:21]

Only one. Like, since the beginning of World War Two, only one coach has ever won a Stanley cup with more than one team. That's Scottie Bowman. And he won it with three because he's ridiculous. Peter Laviolette has a chance. There's only four head coaches left in the playoffs, and if he wins the Stanley cup with the New York Rangers, he'll only be the second. He'll be the first non Scottie Bowman, coach after the invasion of Poland to win with more than one team. So what? Okay, so producer Drew said Pete DeBoer will break the record for most Stanley cup final losses without winning one. If with different teams. How many? Oh, my God. The bruise on Chris Kreider's neck. How many Stanley cup finals has Deborah lost? I know he lost with the Devils. Oh, he lost with the Sharks, too. No, he wasn't. On. Who's the inaugural coach of Vegas? Galant. I think it was galant. Yeah. So it'd still be three. Death Eater 91 says third party podcast apps like pocket cats, etcetera. Got it. I can ask Jesse about that. My assumption is if we're not, if vip isn't available on there, it's because it's impossible.

[00:27:04]

Like, it's just not something they offer. I'll ask them, though. I mean, it's not like we don't want money. It's only the big three platforms. Google, Apple and Spotify. Well, there you go. Unfortunately, there's your answer. Boy, the Panthers. I don't know if the Panthers are trying to get Shasturkin out of the net a lot or if it's just simply something he does a lot. I'm gonna learn a lot about these teams. I mean, you watch them, right? But you don't watch them every damn game. Like the Leafs, Cooley. Whoa. Into the corner. The Rangers are definitely four. Checking hard. They get a chance here off a turnover wide. They're making Bob move early at the point. Rebound shot wide. Panthers doing a decent enough job keeping the Rangers to the outside. Gustafson Schneider with a shot, gloved by Bob. Eric Gustafson, by the way, was eliminated by the Florida Panthers. Last year with the Toronto Maples, boy, VC was close to a goal there. Oh, stick on the ice, too. Dismissed it. Too much wax on that stick there, bud. Producer Drew saying, where was this VC in Toronto? Honestly, VC was given opportunities to succeed in Toronto.

[00:28:44]

He didn't take them. And so when Keith called him vanilla, he was. He was vanilla. And at some point, VC just said, I'm going to do whatever it takes to make Sheldon keef look like an idiot. And he's been incredible with the Rangers. He wasn't a great Canuck either. Like you went to New York and found a fit. Oh, Rangers blow that entirely. Sam Reinhardt leading the four. Check. Shasturkin out of his net to play it again. Oh, whoa. Oh, my God. He's making me nervous, dude. Rangers have almost scored twice off this guy being out of the net. Bob almost bobbled it, too. Both these goalies are out of their mind. Eight minutes in, only five shots total. Three two for the Panthers. Up. Turnover betting liable to kill you. Oh, big hit. Kulikov, who I covered in junior producer drew, just said, there's a thread on the Rangers subreddit from two years ago complaining that Shasturkin plays the puck too much. If you're a goaltender, tend the goal. Ooh, nice move. Turned over. Lomberg airmailing it. The Rangers are definitely dictating play early. Good turnover there. Forced by Lomberg. Driven wide. Florida comes up with it.

[00:30:31]

This is all born from the work of Lomberg, who's right back at it behind the net and in the corner. Bang. Stenland, who's a player I really like. He's been great as a depth forward on the Panthers fired wide from the point. Lombard having a fantastic shift stop by Shasturk, and Panthers still have it, and they're going to get some fresh bodies, too. This is a great fourth line shift for Florida. Stenland on from Montour into the corner. Gust of sin. Oh, boy. Behind the net to Kashuk. He thought a teammate was there, and they were very not. Rangers come up with it, and they'll dump it. Florida tried to draw a call there. Oh, boy. Ferhagy. How did the Florida Panthers not shoot there? And now here come the Rangers with speed. Panarin drops a vetrocheck shot. Oh, wide. Forzling with it. Some sloppy hockey here. Sloppy hockey's fun hockey. Wow. No lack of mistakes. The Rangers turn it over again in front. Oh, and Teresenko fans on it. We got a whistle. I think we're gonna get our first power play of the game. Looks like Jacob Trube heading to the box. Holy Toledo.

[00:32:00]

Rangers captain truba off for hooking. Oh, how do you not? Yeah, it was a two on o. Holy. What a game. So far. Producer drew's in my ear. See, Drew's like, ah, trocheck's come close. But I don't know. I don't know. This is what Drew does. Whenever he wants something to happen so bad, he talks about how it's not going to happen. It works an alarming amount of the time. Rye guy, the fire guy. I joined late, so I apologize if this has already been asked, but thoughts on the Devil's new head coach? So I shot a video on this tonight. It'll go up either late tonight or tomorrow morning. Probably tomorrow morning. I know a lot of Leaf fans are sour on Sheldon Keef. I mean, the Leafs did just fire him. The more I think about it, the more I think he is a really, really good fit for the Devils. Really, really good fit. Think about this. How long is it going to take the New Jersey Devils to have the best d core Sheldon Keef has ever coached in the NHL? Think about that, right? He the Devils have as many as three defensemen who could be called the best right handed defenseman Sheldon Keef has ever coached at the NHL level.

[00:33:41]

Dougie Hamilton for sure. He's just the best defenseman he's ever coached. You probably take Hamilton above Riley, right? John Marino is probably a better right handed defenseman than anyone the leaves have. And then there's Simon Nimich. Drew says Marino sucks. Okay, you've watched a lot of leaf games. Drew game on the line. You throwing Timmy out there over Marino? 100%. Okay. Panthers with a two minute power play here. Cassie, before we get the whistle, trivia for Steve. What player is the best career face off percentage with a minimum of 500 face off among active players? Barkov. Oh, best career. And among active players, I'm going to say Yannick Perot for career. And, yeah, Sasha Barkov. Panthers with it in the d zone. Almost 30 seconds of this power play killed with little going on. But that can happen in a flash. I was right with Yannick Perot. Get out of here, Brandon. Montour. Verhege. Montour. Verhege on tipped wide. Kachuk back to the point. Excuse me. Montour. Stutter step on. Blocked by Adam Fox and thrown down the ice. Drew asked if I can name any of the other top five face off guys. NHL history.

[00:35:26]

Bergeron, he's 10th. Damn. Here comes Sam Bennett. Teresenko can't handle it. Zabanajad giving chase. 45 seconds to go in this Panthers power play. A bit of a flub pass there, Schneider. Oh, Steel. But crider gets the turnover and throws it down the ice. 30 seconds to go in this Panthers power play is geek carbon. Oh, in there one is a former Leafs coach, Manny Malhotra. Number four all time, Manny Malhotra. Get out of here, Ekblad. Oh. On stop by Shasturkin. Rebound is cleared all the way down the ice, but the penalty was over. So this is going to be icing, and a few tired Rangers are going to have to stay out there. Cassie said it's McLeod for active players. So the other top five all time, Scott Nickel, Rod Brandemore and Zenon Kanopka. How did he win that many face off, like, with. He must have broken his hands five times a season. That dude fought like 20 times a season. Top five all time. Second all time. Minimum 500 face offs. That's insane. What? Seven minutes to go in the first period. Rangers, whoop, managed to get out of their zone. Boy, the Panthers not giving up their zone easily here.

[00:37:40]

And Eckblad says, get that garbage out of here. Into the corner goes verhege, giving chase to Braden Schneider. Oh, my God. What a hit from Kacuk. Who is that? He lined up Trochek. Whoa. Open ice. Trocheck bounces right back up, though. Oh, turnover at the blue line. Panthers bang into the corner. Man, the Panthers are wasting some great a opportunities here. Ranger still with only three shots on goal. Oh, there's number four. Bobrovsky with the save off. Another turnover. There have been a million turnovers in this friggin game. Holy. Oh, Nick cousins bleeding from the mouth. What happened there? Oh, got punched right in the face. Should have been a high stick or a roughing call, says the broadcast. Nope, punches to the face are fine. Sam Bennett. Got nothing. Brad Marshan. Not a suspension, not a fine, not a penalty. Punch, guys, in the face. It's fine. Death eater 91 gifts in STPN membership. Let's go. That's the first one of the nine. Trochak was stretching his lat there on the bench. Wonder if he popped out a rib on the hit. Six minutes to go here in the first period. Rangers. Oh, they can't hold the zone.

[00:39:19]

Stuck at center, turned back around into the corner. Is this ice? No, it is not true. But in a battle there with Teresenko, sends it all the way down the ice. I don't think that'll be icing though. No, it will not, actually. Geez, that was going on goal. Cassie said, if we go truly active players. Yes, please. Let's. It's Mark Castillek. There's another tough guy who wins face offs just like Inopka. Interesting. Roslovic in the corner. Lutzerin with speed. Oh. Lined up. And one of the Rangers took out one of their own guys. Bennett up the ice. Oh, Ranger. Oh, my God. The amount of possession changes in this first period are neck breaking. Speaking of neck breaking, there goes Sam Bennett. Lutzer Inan goes. Five hole on Shasturkin. Stopped into the corner. Sadeen magic said, we're late in the playoffs. You have to kill someone to get a minor penalty now. Yeah, that or hook. Like, that's a hold there from Fox in the regular season. They let it go. Big hit. Lots of heavy hits. Rangers not backing down from the Panthers and vice versa. 430 to go in the first period. Shot seven four for the Panthers.

[00:40:56]

Lombergozette Gustafson, Rangers, two on three. VC stripped to the puck by Stenlund. There he is again. There he is again. We had to predict who Seattle was going to take in the expansion draft. And I want to say, I think it was Columbus had Stenland let me.

[00:41:23]

Look.

[00:41:26]

And I said they should take him. He had really good numbers. As we get a. You know what, we're in a tv timeout, so I'm going to look this up. Producer Drew said, can you name three of the seven teams that cannot played for. I know he played for the Sabers. Feels like he'd be a flyer. No sen, you played for the cents. Okay. Predators. Incorrect. Wild. Yeah. Let's go. He took 3000 more face offs than Yannick Perot. Oh, he took 3000 total, which is more than Yannick Perot. Okay. I was like, what did he play for 50 years? This is a really interesting question from Kilo James. Would you take Zabanijad for Nylander or Marner? Him and Nylander are very similar players in a lot of ways. I think he makes less than Marner, so I'll take that. He's 31. He's four years older. Just 26 goals this season, 72 points. He had 91 the year before. He. He's such a strange player. Like he has. True. I'd almost trade him for Marner just so you could say you have two knee Landers. They're essentially the same guy, by the way. They just showed a replay of that Kaczuk hit on trocheck.

[00:43:23]

Jumps into him like Superman ass first. But Pederson got charging again, like I said on the podcast. Is it entertaining? Sure. Does it spit directly into the face of the name of sporting. Yes. Panthers in front. Oh, Verhege almost had one. My first goal. Score predictions are Trochek and Verhege. Here come the Rangers up the ice. Bonarin. Oh, my God. Bobbles it like, four times. Verhege. Help. Starts the breakout for the Panthers. Here they come. Shot on scores. Matthew Kaczyk beats Igor Shasturkin. Clean first goal of the series with 334 to go in the first period. Chucky says, cheese, man, you talk about two star players with two completely different shifts. Panarin flubs the puck a bunch of times for Hagee, starts the breakout. Forsling carries it in. He drops it for Kachuk, who just rips the thing. I don't know if that took a funny bounce off a Ranger stick. I don't think so, not from that angle. Chuck leads Panthers with 15 points in the 2024 playoffs. Fun fact. That would not even put him top four on the Oilers. They are stupid. The Oilers have all four of the top four point getters of the 2024 playoffs so far.

[00:45:14]

Yeah. Producer Drew saying, if that was Samsonov, you would have ripped him. I'm not going to lie. I was surprised. That's why I said he beats him clean, like you. I mean, I know it's Matthew Kaczuk, and he can shoot the puck. Good lord. That can't happen. That can't go in. There's too much on the line. Dude, it's the third round. You're in the final four here. You got a legitimate chance of winning the Stanley cup. Those can't go in. Unless there was a tip that I didn't see, I don't think there was. That's not a great goal for one of the best goalies in the world. Cassie says same vein. Who has won the most face offs all time? That's got to be Bergeron. Yeah, that's got to be. Bergeron tapes. No. Bergeron, 237 to go in the first period. Panthers pressing again. Reinhardt shoots, stopped. And over the nether. Oh. Breakaway for the Rangers. Shot off the bar. That was Braden Schneider. I thought it was, but I was like, surely not. Golden chance to tie it. Producer Drew saying, do you think that Kachuk shot would have even counted as a high danger chance?

[00:47:19]

No, I don't. That's a high stick. No. Okay. Ranger all Panarin with a one timer stop by Bob. Rangers really throwing the body around. It's only resulted in five shots on goal, though. Shot wide. Rangers dump it. Boy, really feels like the Rangers deserve a better fate from this period. The Panthers block it. They're attacking with speed. Shot. Oh, boy, they're just shooting everything now. Justurkin makes a save, but didn't look sturdy there. What's going on? And forsling knocks it out of play for a whistle. John says, saw you at Walmart yesterday, but you ignored me. I think the reason I ignored you is that wasn't me. I was not at Walmart yesterday. Jared said, if he hadn't died, my buddy, my buddy Keavey would have been on the kraken. That's why they took some scrub instead. Who's Kevi? Is that who the Kraken took? Is that the goalie? I'm not sure. Drew's. Drew's going to look it up. Final 10 seconds of the first period here. Panthers into the corner. Oh, man. Big collision there in front of the New York bench. The camera had just left in the first period is over. Oh, is Barkov got rocked.

[00:49:45]

And again from a player both feet well off the ice. How did Patterson get a penalty from Cassie Bergeron with 15,182 face offs? Can you go five for five and get the next four? No. No, I cannot. Nick Shannon. Does Cleveland's deep AHL playoff run bode well for Columbus's future? The Blue Jacket's fan base deserves a winner after 25 years of being a doormat. Winning in the AHL does not necessarily mean NHL success down the road, but it has worked for several teams. The Columbus. The Columbus Blue Jackets, the Tampa Bay Lightning were not great then. They were great very suddenly in 2011 when they went to the conference final. Like, they went from picking Stamcos first overall in 2008 to conference final in three years. They picked headman second overall in 2009. So they went from the second overall pick in 2009 to conference final two years later the year after. I don't remember the Lightning doing much, but they did win the Calder cup. Trying to think of the guys on that team. There was like pilot Tyler Johnson. Was Nikita Kutrov on that team? I don't think Vasilevsky was on that team.

[00:51:22]

It can mean really good things. Oh, Alex Kalorn, I believe, is on that team. John Cooper was the coach of that team. It can mean some really good things. Oh, so he was talking about the Blue Jackets goalie. I don't know if. I don't know if he would have been the guy, though. I don't know if he would have been the guy because the Kraken got three really good goalies or. Well, at the time it seemed like they were building a net. They, if I'm not mistaken, they drafted someone who they just let go back to Columbus. Like, the Kraken were just like, I don't really like any of these guys, but I thought that was kind of a wasted pick because, yeah, Kevin Sendland here he is just looking it up. He had 15 goals and 25 points in 59 games for the Cleveland Monsters. He had played some NHL games. Six foot 5215. Like, I'm sorry, you don't. You don't feel like you need that player, like, anywhere in your organization, in your roster at all? Feels like you could use that person. By the way, yesterday there was a comment from Mark Spector about, you know, needing more sask or Saskatchewan and less Stockholm.

[00:52:58]

Guess where Kevin Stenlan is from. Kevin Stenlan, who runs around the ice like a maniac at six foot, 5215 Stockholm. Oh, Jared saying, mattis Kavlenix and I played in the defunct MNJHL against each other. Wow. Wow. So you must be like, incredible at hockey. I'm always so impressed by anyone who is able to say they played against anyone. Mike Stevens, he's very active on hockey Twitter. He talks about, like, playing in the GTHL and like, I'm pretty sure he said he played against Max Domi. How don't you lead every conversation with that? Like, yeah, I played against Max Domi. Come on. So we're in the first intermission here on this stream. Click, like, click subscribe. Tell all your friends. I'm gonna take a quick break. I feel like at the end of the Leaf series, I was battling something. I'm still battling something. I'm gonna go to the doctor tomorrow. I think I have a chest infection or allergies or both. I don't know. So I'm going to go get some water. Drew, do we have a clip? Ah, we have our live Ryan McDonough trade reaction on the Steve Dangle podcast. Man, that Matthew Kachuk goal sucks.

[00:54:45]

I'm just. I'm just watching it again real quick before I throw to the clip, Cassie saying, fair enough. The top five, all the top five players all time in terms of face offs taken, Cindy Crosby, Anzacopter, Joe Thornton, Jonathan Taves and Patrice Bergeron, has almost a thousand more wins than Sid, 50,182 compared to 14,648. Good night. Have a good stream. Thank you. Cassie. That's ridiculous. But one of the things about NHL stats that I discovered in the process of writing my book that is out October 15. Link in the description is a lot of stats have not always been kept. For example, I was talking about Terry Sak and I think he's like 16th all time in saves. The fact that he's 16th all time and saves is made more impressive by the fact that they did not count saves for the first six years of his career. So producer Drew is going to play a clip. It's me. It's Adam. It's Jesse. Live reaction to Ryan McDonough being traded from the Nashville tree back to the Tampa Bay Lightning. I'll be right back.

[00:56:01]

So the deal is McDonough and Edmonton's 2024 4th round pick. The Tampa somehow has. Oh, sorry. Nashville somehow has to Tampa in exchange for the 2024 7th rounder and a second rounder in 2025 to Nashville.

[00:56:18]

What? That feels like money laundering.

[00:56:20]

So basically, Ryan McDonough is back and he was the guy that I think Tampa thought they really needed and they tried to replace. Well, they dumped him, but they, I don't think they wanted to. That was the thing when they traded.

[00:56:34]

Him, they couldn't afford him.

[00:56:35]

They couldn't afford him. And then I think at the deadline with Dumba and there was somebody else.

[00:56:38]

Who else?

[00:56:39]

They bring up the deadline.

[00:56:40]

They tried Claire, didn't they?

[00:56:42]

Cap friendly doesn't even have this trade.

[00:56:44]

No. Chris. Chris Crenn is the one on my timeline at least the broken. He is a Tampa Bay, like, beat writer for the.

[00:56:50]

Oh, my God.

[00:56:51]

Wow.

[00:56:51]

Yeah.

[00:56:52]

So long story short, huge, huge piece for the, for the bolts. They. Yeah. Nashville has actually announced it, too.

[00:56:58]

I'm surprised Nashville moved off him. Did he have term?

[00:57:03]

I think it was that, it wasn't that Nashville wanted to necessarily move off of him. It was that, I think Tampa wanted him bad enough and Nashville McDonough was really, really valuable for them in the first round. But I would say that Tampa, you know, they can get a second round pick next year out of it, which means that they can move that at the deadline for something else.

[00:57:21]

There it is from CJ himself. So I think if you're Tampa. Right. So Sergeyev was out and, you know, broke his leg when he came back. I'm sure he wasn't 100%. That put so much pressure on Hedman. But when Tampa won their cups, we were like Vasilevsky. Oh, my God, Vasilevsky. And like, they, they scored a lot of goals. They had guys who could score crazy goals. Kutrov was great, Braden point was great. Lots of other great performances. What truly set Tampa apart from everybody and helped Vasilevsky be as great as he was is their left side. Was Hedman McDonough surgachev on beatable game over. Don't bother. Yes. They had to go to some suspect names on the right side. Didn't matter. At any given moment, Tampa had at least one of Hedman McDonough or surgace on the ice at the same time. You're not winning. They're killing you in the playoffs. Forget it. Who do you even hide your best players from? Who do I guess we'll send them at who? Surga. Jeff. That sucks. McDonough then. Okay. Barry's friggin mmm. Stick right beneath your pelvis there, dude. It's. As a fan of an Atlantic division team, I'm not thrilled.

[00:58:56]

I think it's. I think it's an indication that they definitely don't think their windows closing anytime soon. And I think is it a precursor to Stam coast coming back?

[00:59:07]

Jesse. That's where my mind say the same thing.

[00:59:11]

That's where my mind immediately went. Like, we're getting everybody back. We're doing this thing again. We think we're a lot closer than the Florida series indicates. And Stamko's is going to be a lightning in a couple weeks.

[00:59:25]

Like, Steven, we need you to take a big discount. I don't want to. What do we got to do? I want Ryan back. I wouldn't be shocked at all if we hear something to that effect. Or, or this makes it way harder to bring stamcoast back because they're bringing money in and no money went out.

[00:59:46]

I want to see. I don't remember off the top of my head what Ryan McDonough makes. So six or less. Let's triple check.

[00:59:55]

A lot of money.

[00:59:55]

Sure.

[00:59:56]

It's a lot of money. Unless he signed some extension with Nashville that I don't remember.

[01:00:01]

No. Why can I do this?

[01:00:04]

Quickly spelled Mac. There we go. Donna.

[01:00:08]

Ryan mcDonough. 6.75 for next season and the year after.

[01:00:15]

That is a lot more than I thought.

[01:00:17]

Quite a chunk of change.

[01:00:19]

He also doesn't suck.

[01:00:22]

Yeah, that's very true.

[01:00:23]

He has a. He was very, very good. And I'm guessing he waved it.

[01:00:29]

I'm guessing he waved it the last time. The national Predators of Tampa Bay Lightning today, a little tradesy doodle do. It was the Tanner Jane O trade. Unless they did something in between, then I don't remember.

[01:00:44]

But I mean, the lightning got killed.

[01:00:45]

And in that one, I think we're going to all agree that they probably look back and don't do that one again just because of the draft capital. So they have a great trading relationship, something you focused on in the past about Kyle Dubas and the team he loves to trade with. And this seems like definitely one that the Lightning seemed to keep going back to.

[01:01:06]

So wait, then Tampa gave Nashville two more picks, and the pick that Nashville gave to Tampa is an Oilers pick. So what I'm trying to figure out that the trade tree senses are going off of my head. Are any of the picks from this trade from the Janeau deal? And unless the Oilers one is, then.

[01:01:29]

The answer is no, I wouldn't think so. I think these are other picks.

[01:01:33]

So that's. Is that Nashville?

[01:01:36]

That's Nashville's picks or this upcoming draft?

[01:01:40]

They got it. That's a playoff team that nearly punched their ticket to the second round. They got a first 3 seconds, two thirds, three fourths. They don't have a fifth, six or 7th. But all the things and then said or why you don't give a shit.

[01:01:54]

Add into this another second round pick in 2025.

[01:01:57]

Yes. Question.

[01:01:59]

Another first round pick.

[01:02:00]

It's conditional.

[01:02:01]

It's this one.

[01:02:03]

There is a condition.

[01:02:03]

Yeah.

[01:02:04]

Trade protected. Our top temperature. A question for you guys. Is there any way to look up the. Just the trade history involving McDonough to the preds and then McDonough back?

[01:02:15]

Yeah.

[01:02:15]

Yes.

[01:02:15]

You got it there.

[01:02:16]

Yeah.

[01:02:16]

They're doing like, half a second.

[01:02:18]

Because the reason I ask is, I believe Tampa had to pay assets for Nashville to take that deal.

[01:02:25]

It wasn't a lot, if I remember that, because remember one weird.

[01:02:29]

No. It was Ryan McDonough to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Philip Myers and Grant mismatch.

[01:02:38]

Okay, never mind.

[01:02:38]

It was basically.

[01:02:39]

And then they. They. They also held money. They held money.

[01:02:44]

They did.

[01:02:45]

Yeah.

[01:02:45]

Because they know if you look.

[01:02:46]

No, no, no.

[01:02:47]

That's just the change in the cap that. So they lost $4.2 million in cap spend.

[01:02:52]

But doesn't he make 6.7?

[01:02:53]

No. It would have said, yeah.

[01:02:55]

Oh, no.

[01:02:55]

That's the change in what their cap was. Oh, Nashville's cap went up plus four, 4.2.

[01:03:01]

Because Myers was making way too much.

[01:03:04]

Yes.

[01:03:04]

He was kind of screwed his career up a little bit because he was not a bad player, but he wasn't 2.55.

[01:03:11]

Interesting.

[01:03:12]

It's almost like O'Connor Timmons like numbers screwing his career.

[01:03:15]

The one thing I do want to say is the national predators seem to be good at harvesting draft picks from Tampa Bay Lightning.

[01:03:20]

Yes.

[01:03:21]

I mean, between this and Tanner Jane. Oh, that's like, pretty solid.

[01:03:25]

The, the list of trades Julian Breeze was lost in recent years is a short list, but they include the preds. Wow. That's a very big deal. And screw the preds for sending another really good defenseman to the Atlantic.

[01:03:42]

Yeah.

[01:03:43]

Thanks. Yeah.

[01:03:44]

Yeah.

[01:03:44]

I think it's clear that Julian Breeswa, when he has guys he likes, he likes them a lot and will do anything to go acquire those players.

[01:03:53]

Nashville clearance space for Marner.

[01:03:57]

Not like, that's not, that's not a ridiculous thing to say.

[01:04:00]

It's no.

[01:04:01]

Like Marner makes a lot of money getting $6.75 million outside of your, of your team. It's not a ridiculous thing to say at all. They need high end scoring talent. They have tremendous draft capital to build around this playoff team. As you illustrated, he can play defense and he can play defense in a pinch. He can be on, on the defensive side. It makes a lot of sense for this Nashville team to acquire a player like Mitch Marner. And now they have some cap room to do it.

[01:04:35]

Why is that? Hmm? Why is that? I was speaking to, by the way, Steve Dangle here. SDpn YouTube channel click like click subscribe. Tell your friends we are streaming game one of the New York Rangers taking on the Florida Panthers. The Panthers leading the Rangers one nothing after one off. A nice shot from Matthew. Chuck, you kind of expect egress to Sterkin to stop that one. I was talking to the mighty Puckpedia today. Like the actual puckpedia. It's a great website. You can follow them on Twitter. I had a theory on today's show about a Mitch Marner trade, and I had it confirmed by Puckpedia that I was right and I was surprised. So basically, Mitch Marner is owed millions of dollars on July 1 in a signing bonus. I don't remember how much. It's like seven or 8 million. Then for the rest of the year, he makes under a million dollars. So you would think after that bonus is paid out on July 1, Mitch Marner could then be traded. Or it would be easier to trade him should he accept a trade. Here's the problem. A lot of business gets done on July 1.

[01:05:58]

So saying, oh, the Leafs can just wait until July 2 is not a given. What I thought of on the show is wait a second. As it pertains to the salary cap, the clock for the next day doesn't reset at midnight. It actually resets at 05:00 p.m. eastern. So Marner could get his money, his bonus paid July 1 1st thing and then, in theory, be traded on what is technically July 2 at 05:01 p.m. eastern on July 1. Same goes for John Tavares. I believe same goes for John Tavares. Pac PD didn't say that. But when I was asking about July 1 and how that all works, they confirmed that my theory was actually correct. Two things Jared confirms. We were just talking about this before the break. Kiwi was the guy they wanted. They being the Seattle Kraken in their expansion draft. He was a young up and comer that I know. He was basically a year away at best. I also played against Charlie Lindgren in the summer. Dude, you played against everybody. And death Eater 91 gifted another STPN membership. Thank you. That brings us up to three new members on this stream.

[01:07:31]

So listen, I'm not asking you to gift everyone a membership. I'm not asking you to buy your own membership. But I am. As a company, as a business. We need you. We need you in the super chats. That'd be great. We need a sticker. That'd be great. But if you become a member, you pay us money and you get something in return. Bonus content. We recorded a vip episode today and I thought it was very good. I would like to get up over 100 new members by the end of this stream. We're at three right now. Oh, producer drew put me on the spot. What will I do if we hit 100 vip's as the second period is underway? Oh, Rangers with a chance. Oh, what will I do? Come up with some ideas. Oh, Rangers. Great chance off the hopper. Reinhardt with it behind the Panthers net. Ew. No, I'm not doing that. Producer Drew said mustard cupcake. No. You know what? Fine, I'll do it. Five gifted memberships. I have a muffin. I have a chocolate chip muffin that I can put mustard on breakaway for the New York Rangers. Stop by bobrovsky.

[01:09:07]

Thank you for gifting five memberships. You don't have a username and your face is covered with a mask. You know who you are. Thank you. I will eat a muffin with mustard on it if we hit 100 vip's. Hundred new vip's. Whether you join as a vip yourself or they are gifted. Uh oh. John Michael Reed, gifted five SDPM memberships. Uh oh. I know this is supposed to be a good thing, but now I'm worried because that tasted friggin gross. Justin Fisher texted me. Don't do it. You sick. Wow. That's a swear word. Hey, we are a small business and I'm trying to generate income for my business. Here come the Rangers going about their business on. What a great opportunity. And another great stop from Bobroski. Braden Schneider holds the point. Paneran. Oh. Broken up there by the Panthers. Rangers hold on to the puck. They'll dump it in and go back after it. Gustafson takes it himself instead of passing cacko after it. Lutzer Inan can't clear his teammate does. Here come the Panthers, two on two. Sam Bennett with the puck shot. Stopped by Shasturkin for a whistle. Yeah. Producer Drew saying.

[01:10:57]

Wonder if they've just been told, shoot it from the high slot. Yeah. You know who told them to do that? Matthew Kaczyk. After scoring, Hugh Cadell became a member. Let's go. Ty Smith, help out with the vip's. 20 gifts up for grabs. Eleven players have played for the Leafs, Panthers and Rangers. Name four of them. Five gifts per. Right answer. Whoa. Not VC. Okay, I'm gonna have to think about this. Interesting, interesting, interesting. You're making me work for my money. You're making me think of this while the game is going on. Too. Lombard wide forsling. I can't multitask. Stenland can't get it through. Yeah, I gotta wait for the commercial break. I'm way too distracted for. Is laying in his own zone three minutes into the second period here. Rangers looking to tie this thing up. They've had a couple chances. Leafs, Panthers and Rangers. Okay. Behind the Rangers net. Rangers. Ah. Couldn't pull off the two on one. There's a band, Ajad working for it. Reinhardt on. Stopped by Shasturkin as we got to whistle. 1623 to go in the second period. Drew can see that. Like, I'm trying to pretend like I'm not thinking about it, but like, oh, man.

[01:13:25]

Well, not for Hagee. I wonder if it's. No, no, no. I don't. Don't give me any hints. I don't want any hints. Is rupee hints? No. Zabanajad with it. Behind the Rangers net. Mikola Verhiggie. Almost got that one right. Oh, wait, no, I wouldn't have got that one right. Kachuk scored Montour from the point. It's behind the Rangers net. Adam Fox, VC, I don't think was ever a panther. This is real wide open hockey here. I shouldn't say wide open. Very back and forth hockey. It's the opposite of wide open. Bennett on tip. Panthers are really trying to go for tips. Justerkin covers it up 1456 to go in the second period. While I still think of that. Patrick Innis. Does Barubi give anyone else Randy Carlisle vibes? No, just me. Cool, cool, cool. Much love from a Scotsman in SoCal. The circumstances of him joining the team are Randy Carlisle esque, but his teams in St. Louis did not play that way. They had real, real underrated regular season success. Those blues teams face off in the Rangers zone. Rangers come up with it behind their own net. Up the ice. Rangers will break it up.

[01:15:31]

Oh, no, they won't. Here they are. Kako shot wide. High and wide. Gotta hit those nets. I don't really think the Rangers doing anything wrong. Bob's been good, and Shasturkin allowed one that he shouldn't have. Like, that's the difference so far. Braden Schneider. Kakko gains the zone. Flubs it a bit. Holds the zone again. Oh, good movement. Trocheck. Stick breaks. Supposed to make Drew money. You stink. 1404 to go in the second period as we get a whistle. Duke. Ding ding. Says as a semi Leafs fan, thanks to Yin's I listen to more of the summer stuff than anything. People should subscribe for that upcoming content. The speculation and discussion is top notch. Fart, fart, far, fart. Thank you especially for that last part. Fart, fart, fart. I can't wait for tv timeout so I can think about this damn question. Paneran. There's trocheck with a stick that isn't broken in the corner. Lafreniere to the point. Truba on. Clean to the blocker of Bob. No tip there. The Panthers have a lot of the puck. Or, sorry, rather the Rangers have a lot of the puck. The Panthers are executing better. Ooh, Truba takes Reinhardt down.

[01:17:12]

Reinhardt looks real uncomfortable. Oh, and he goes right for the bench to keep that in mind. Rangers got a chance. High and wide again. Panarin. Oh, interesting pass off the boards of Lafreniere. Cheeky. Drops it for Lafreniere. Drops it for Truba. On. Doesn't make its way on. Blocked by the stick of Kaczuk. Rangers hold on to it, though. Zabanajad behind the net to the point on. Misses it again. Kandre Miller to Paneran at the point on. Doesn't make its way on. Roslovic in the corner. Picked off by Miquella. Panthers finally get out of their zone. Good little possession there from the Rangers. Lutzerin Rodriguez drops it for Bennett. Blasts it wide so hard that the Panthers can't hold the zone. Ekman Larson. Oh, yep, that's a high stick. I don't even know if Ekman Larson noticed that he got high stick, but he definitely got high stick. Roslovic going to the box. I'm surprised they didn't let that go. I'm not going to lie. It's a high stick, but nothing happened. Reinhardt really favoring that left shoulder from that hit from Truba. Oh. Ekman Larson barely reacts to the high stick. I'm surprised. Isaac Olufsen.

[01:19:06]

I want to give another voice for my countryman, Gustav forsling. One of the best, if not the best defenseman in the NHL. Okay, calm. A car exists. Can't wait to see you in the Olympics. And the four. Thank you, taxa. Mooc get. All right. Tv timeout. Drew has the list of all eleven players who have played for all three of the Leafs, Rangers and Panthers. Man, I'm struggling here. Like, I'm trying to. Seven of them have been in the two thousands. I mean, that's probably the pool that I was going to take from anyway. Not Reimer, not Malgan. Like, I'm trying to think of like, okay, who were Leafs and who were Panthers? Uh, not VC, not Nieuwendike, not Roberts. Oh, man, this is killing me. Not Leech. The Panthers had such ridiculous turnover for so long. Rangers two and the Leafs. It makes it really difficult. Is it anyone on my wall? Let's look. One of these guys. Come on. I don't even know if I have a Ranger. Not Mulligan. Yeah. Trocheck still looks sore. Yeah, they have this wrong. They have this. I'm not like a medical expert, but they have this wrong on the broadcast.

[01:21:18]

They're talking about trocheck shoulder. It's, it's the lat. They're working by digging into there. They're working his lat. My guess is he has a couple ribs up high that are kind of askew. And they're going to work on them over the next few days. And I, I'm only passionate about this because this happens to me all the time because my shoulders are so rounded, because I'm constantly holding a newborn baby. It's a very common injury amongst new parents. Rangers on the penalty kill here. But they attack two on two. Zabanajad with criders. A manager drops it for Crider, whose stick breaks. And this is a problem. Here come the Panthers. Crider gets a stick back. Panthers on wide penalty is a quarter killed thrown out there by the Rangers. Was Brian McCabe ever a ranger? He was definitely a leaf. Definitely a panther. I got one. I got one. Brian McCabe. Let's go. 50 seconds. To go in this power play. I'm going to continue playing this while calling the game. Bennett on. Whoa. Gloved by Shasturkin. Interesting one. It was blocked, but that almost made it more dangerous. He played 55 games for the Rangers.

[01:23:11]

Do not remember that at all. Not Lynn dross, because Lindross was never a panther. Hey, Ty Smith. Five STPM memberships. Let's go. I'm closer to the mustard cupcake. Mustard muffin. Panthers with it at the point. Teresenko was a Ranger and a panther, not a leaf. Pretty clean kill for the Rangers so far. 20 seconds to go. Unless something goes completely off the rails here, they should kill it. 15 seconds. Bennett Teresenko picked off Sabanda. Jack clears it. And that'll do it. Brian McCabe is on my wall. Gloved by Shasturkin. Hilarious super chat. Surprising lack of scrums, post whistle. Laviolette needs to solve Maurice's four check. And Bobrovski sharpness is making me nervous as I was reading that the Rangers knocked over one of the panthers in front of their net. Mister Cookie. Hello, Steve. A month ago, I started listening to your podcast. Once the Leafs propaganda is done, it's a good listen. Shut up also. Thank you. Oh, man. Eleven guys have played for the Leafs, Rangers and Panthers. This is pissing me off. There was a year where the Leafs were rebuilding, where they had like 45 players play for them. That definitely muddies the water.

[01:25:30]

Greg McKegg. I got one. Let's go. Greg Mc friggin keg. Who? I think he played for 13 NHL teams, like eight games each. Like, because I was just. I was just thinking those brutal seasons where. How many games did Greg McKegg play for the Leafs? Up 15. Four. There you go. As 916 to go in the second period. We have another commercial break. All right, all right, all right. Let me think here. Let me think here. Did I feel like Peter Holland was a Ranger? Was he ever a Panther? No. No. Peter Holland. Okay. Dude. No. Sundin Mary's Tcherkoski? No. Hmm. Ty Smith with another five. Let's go. We're up to 25. The goal is 100. Ty Smith says, hint one was a Leaf last year. Well, Mulgan was a Panther. He was never a Ranger. No Labushkin? No. Edmondson. No. Nice. No. Achary. No. Nick Felino. Well, obviously that's not last year. Last year as in this past season or the season before 2020? Not Mason Marchmont. Panthers win the draw. Terasenko leading the rush. I wish you never asked me this question. I'm so bothered. At some point I'm gonna have to give up.

[01:28:35]

Oh, man. Five more gifted members from me. If you call Adam and ask if his refrigerator is running. Calls forwarded to voicemail. Hope he doesn't say something awful. No. I'll leave a message. Kaczuk loses the zone. Miquella. God, he's huge. Whistle. I think that'll be a high stick forwarded to voicemail. The person you're trying to reach is not available. At the tone, please record your message. When you have finished recording, you may hang up. Hey, Adam, is your refrigerator running? Because you better eat ass there. Give me the five. Give me the five. What? Oh, Drew. Thought I was still recording. No. Come on. Under eight minutes to go in the second period. Ranger still down one. Nothing. Low scoring. Good body position there from Sam Bennett. Leads to a potential scoring chance. Puck goes out of play. When was a leaf? Last year? Eric Gustafson. No. Oh, my God. I mean, nuts. Um, not Dave Riddick. Death eater with five gifts. Let's go. Thank you. Glove by shasturkin. And he'll hold onto it. Obey Kubel. Damn. 725 to go in the second period. Blasted again. Shasturkin making a save. He does not look confident.

[01:31:48]

Oh, Adam's calling me. Adam.

[01:31:54]

What?

[01:31:55]

Is your refrigerator running? No. Oh, well, you better pick your nose and shove it up your bum. All right. There you go. Big move from shasturkin there. Adam sounded like he was consuming cannabis, so I'll just be honest. Panthers in front, not able to get the puck. I tell you what, Rangers, you're the home team. It's more than halfway through regulation and you have nine shots on goal. That stinks. Oh, this one might be number ten. Driving the net is laugh Raniere. And it goes wide. But they're in the offensive zone. That's a good place to be. Lafrenier behind the net for Paneran. Bang wide. Feels like the Rangers have had a lot of attempts, and very few of them have actually hit the net. McColla can't clear the zone. Lindgren around in front. Adam Fox with it. He hasn't seen a lot of the puck tonight. That one goes wide. McColla just yeets the thing down the ice. Is this icing. It is not. Whoa. Big collision. Lomberg stealing the puck off Fox cousins back there. Boy, this fourth line of the Panthers has been a factor. This is part of the reason I thought the Rangers could have used rempy in game one.

[01:33:32]

Paneran Barclay goodrow. We're up to 30 members for this stream. Okay, I want to say Anders Erickson was a leaf and a panther. Was he a Ranger also? Trevor Kidd, panthers. Matthew Kachuk has it, drops it for Eckblad, for Hagee. Battling for a behind the net. Boy, the Rangers look all out of sorts here. Barkov. That might have been stopped there by Shasturkin. Great chance. Ty Smith gifted five memberships. Was it Erickson or Trevor Kid? Yeah, neither of those guys are the answer, but ty gifted five memberships. Oh, it is Anders Erickson. Let's go. How many games did Andrews Erickson play for? Oh, man. 1238. Oh. Novican. I don't. Ah, ah. Novakahn said Anton Strahlman, which is correct, but it's also cheating, so. Whoa, big hit from Cooley there. Kulakov just bounces right off him. Was Nick Antropov a panther? He was a Ranger. Not Nick Anthropov. Was Christopher stieg a Ranger? Man? Dude, this is so hard. Under four minutes to go in the second period. Fox. Oh, stop by Bob and he gobbles it up. We got a whistle with 340 to go in the second period. For those of you just tuning in as we go to commercial break, the question was, they'll give five memberships to the SDPN YouTube channel for every correct answer I get for players who played for all three of the Leafs, Rangers and Panthers.

[01:36:49]

Excuse me. Greg McKay. How the hell did I get him? Frank Corrado. No. Nope. No. Josh Levo. God, this is driving me insane. This is driving me insane. No VC. And one of the clues was he played for the Leafs last year and I still haven't gotten that guy. Like, I could just look at the roster, but I feel like that's cheating. Not Nick Ritchie. Was Nick Richie a Leaf last season? No, it was two years ago. Not nola cheri. Not Dennis Malligan. Oh, son of a gun. Um, who is Malgan traded for? What's the dude's name? Dryden Hunt. Ah. Let's go. It took me the whole commercial break to get Dryden Hunt. Let's go. 338 to go in the second period. Ah, hell yeah. 327 to go as we get a whistle here. Brandon Montour telling his teammates, talk. If we get to a hundred vip is, by the way, a Ty Smith holding up his end of the bargain. If we get to 100 vip's added to the channel over the course of this stream, I will eat a muffin with mustard on it. A chocolate chip muffin with mustard on it. We are up to 40 now.

[01:39:21]

Rangers attacking three on two broken up by the stick of Barkov showing why he won the Selkie trophy behind the Panthers net. Zabanajad giving chase. Criders back there too. Haven't seen enough from him yet in this game. Truba holds those zones abandoned front for no one. Dell to the point. Forsling on Shasturkin covers it up. 232 to go in the second. Producer Drew saying the lowest amount of shots the Rangers have had through two periods so far is 13. Honestly, I'm surprised it's that low. They've dominated their opponents, but I guess Carolina was in there, too. 19. Sheffield 84. Welcome to SDP vip ad free. That brings us up to 41. Lindell wins the face off for the Panthers. Forsling way that went wide, but not by much. Rangers giving chase. They're not going to win the race to that puck. Forsling first back there. Yeah, producer Drew is saying like, are you quitting or what on this list? I don't think I can keep going. Ken. Chuck, wide. Verhege, give me a couple minutes at intermission and I'll try and then I'll just give up. Verhege in the corner. Under two minutes to go.

[01:41:21]

Oh, he had Lindell, he couldn't tip it on. And Shasturkin covers it up. 151 to go in the second period. Nova Khan muffin with mustard filled with bell pepper. No. Jayu says, why is Msg so quiet tonight? It was loud at the beginning of the game and then the Rangers have gotten ten shots through the first 38 minutes of this game and they're losing. That's what happened. The Panthers happen. Ekpen Larson into the Ranger zone. Yeah, it's definitely icing. 142 to go in the second period. The Rangers will get a chance.

[01:42:20]

To.

[01:42:21]

Have an ozone draw here, man. Real low energy on the Rangers bench, too. This does not feel like a game in the final four. Barclay Goodrow blocked one with his hand and that looked very uncomfortable. Trocheck wins the face off. Rangers hold the zone. Oh, it's Panerin. Paneran. Oh, Fox on blocked. Fox has his stick tied up. Rangers hold the zone. They're cheering. Is this gonna be a penalty? Sounds like it. Delayed penalty. Was. Is that holding the stick? I think Paul Maurice is about to lose his mind. Oh, not quite. Minor penalty holding. It was Sam Bennett and yeah, he is absolutely holding Adam Fox's stick. That's a penalty. Sam Bennett got called for that. Falcon punching the captain of the Bruins is fine now. MSG is loud. Here we go. A minute 26 to go in the second period. This power play will go into the third period unless the Rangers score here. Panarin to the point. Fox rebound there. Crider couldn't get to it. Thrown behind the net. Rangers not able to hold the zone there. No one was there. Ill advised play there. Minute ten to go in the second period.

[01:44:19]

Here come the Rangers. Decent speed here. Pinarin. Oh, flubs the entry. The Rangers get it. But Stenland, who no one wanted, clears it. Zabanajad. Whoa. Almost gave it away there. Panarin across the ice. Rangers with absolutely no speed. Zabanijad gains the zone, loses the zone. Down the ice it goes. Good kill for the Panthers, man. Good kill. Here comes Fox. Here comes Panarin. Gain the zone. Clean this time around. Back around for Panarin. Looking for help. Finds crider in front. Trocheck. Rangers have spread them out. Zabandajad blocked. Zubandijad dives to keep it in. Panthers get it out, man. They're killing real well. 10 seconds to go here in the second period. Panarin very little time. Fox shoot that. Oh, blocked. Did Zabanajad just miss or was that a huge save? Zabandajad head straight off. I think he was upset with himself. You might have missed the net here. Let's see a replay. Oh, hit the side of the net. Or did it hit. It might have hit trocheck because Trocheck went down immediately. They're saying Bobrovski save on the broadcast. No. No way. Put it this way. He didn't miss by much, whether it was Bob Trocheck or the post.

[01:46:12]

Wow, wow, wow. All right. Producer Drew says he's got, or I got five minutes before Drew tells me all the names. So I have five minutes to guess all the players. There's eleven players who have ever played for all three of the Rangers, Leafs and Panthers. How many do I have? Five. Three. There's another good question in the chat, and I'll work on that one after, man. All right, guys, who were Leafs and Panthers? Nieuwen, dyke, McCabe. I already got rhymer, Roberts, Anders Erickson, Fragon. I thought Trevor Kidd. No. All right, guys, who are Leafs and Rangers? No. Lindras? No. Adam Graves. Who do I play with at the Easter Seals tournament? Novr Steeg. Who is there this year? Andrew Shaw was there. Rick Natrus has been there in the past. Nick Antipov, I think was a leaf and a Ranger. Oh, man. Oh, this is absolutely killing me. This is how you know I'm not cheating. Like, geez, you know what? I. This is terrible content. Like, Drew. Drew I think I give up. So Jacqueline K. Gifted ten STPM memberships. Drew, can you bring the list on the screen? Because I give up.

[01:48:41]

What do we got? Okay, I got a big if I my screen so I can see this. Brian Boyle. Ah, that one hurts. I mean, they're all going to hurt. Dallas Ekins. I never would have got Anders Erickson. I think it's a friggin miracle. I got Dave Gagne. I don't know who that is. Dryden Hunt. Ole Yokin and hurts. Alexander. What is it? Okorpotzev. That one I should have got. Ah, no. I didn't know he was ever a Ranger. What? Brian McCabe. Greg McCabe. Dominic Moore. That should have been a free space. And Anton Strollman. Damn. Damn. Good question. Good question. We got a new one, by the way. We're up to 51 members, so we're a little over halfway there. Joe Bale. For five subs, name the 470 point players the Canadians have had since 2000. Tip. One of them plays for the Leafs. I know Drew said they only had four. That's embarrassing. Alexei Kovalev. Oh, we don't know the answers. Scott Gomez. Joe Bale said more than 70 points. Okay. Like, currently plays for the Leafs. Oh, he played for the Leafs. Thomas Blackanitz. There's one that plays for Leafs right now.

[01:50:36]

Oh, Max Domi. Max Domi had 72 points. Like, if you look at the rest of his career, like, he's not a bad offensive player, but, like, Jesus, where did that come from? Yeah. Matt. Wow, wow, wow. Four in the last 24 years, and one of them is Max Dhoni. Drew has the last 15 years up, and there's only three on that list. Is Kovalev one of them? No. Is Gomez one of them? No. Is Placanus one of them? Correct. Okay, so we got two. Holy mackerel. Since 2000, Kovalev's not one of them. Has Nick Suzuki hit 70? Oh. This season. Oh, there you go. Nick Suzuki. No. Caulfield. Slaph might next year. No. Weber. No. Suban. Andre Markov as a defenseman? Nah. Saku koivu. Nah. I give up for number four. I give up. Oh, Max Patch. Already some people are saying he's not on the list. Yeah, but it's. It's dating back to. Oh, yeah. What the. Dude? What?

[01:52:46]

Oh.

[01:52:46]

Mike Camilleri. Some people are guessing I'm going to cheat with the chat here because it's like, this is ridiculous. This is absolutely ridiculous. Drew, do you want to take another break? Let's. Let's take a break. Hey, Joe Bale, gifted five SDPM memberships. Let's go. Thank you very much. That means we are up to 56. There we go. 56 memberships, another 44. And I gotta eat a chocolate chip muffin with mustard on it using this break. I'm gonna go to the bathroom, but I'm also gonna go get the muffin and the mustard. Stick around. STPN YouTube channel Steve Dangle here streaming game one of Rangers panthers. Now I can concentrate on the third period. Dude, they. They missed Brock Besser so much. They score on that power play. Who knows? Who knows? We might be talking about a completely different winner today.

[01:53:55]

Well, and I think even before Besser and the. The unfortunate blood clot happened, I think, ideally, if you're the Canucks, you need two more forwards next year of skilled player. Cause, listen, they had a good first line. It's the. The suiter. Miller Besser. Right. Patterson, and whoever. And then they had a really good third line with Lindholm Garland, and Dakota Joshua. It was the second line, I think, where Patterson was forced to play with guys like Linus Carlson. And no disrespect, but, like, that's not. That's not a guy. That's ideal.

[01:54:28]

Yeah. Speaker two.

[01:54:30]

Yeah, you got to drive. But no, like, I think it's like, okay, so, if we took Matthews and we put him between two guys that really are not that great, or let's put them between David Campf and Ryan Reeves, who are not great on offense, I'm sure he'd still score. It would just be less.

[01:54:46]

He. I mean, they played him with Noah Gregor. They played him with Pontus Holman.

[01:54:50]

Yeah, but. Yeah, but who else was with him? Okay, well, Mitch Marner or William Nylander.

[01:54:54]

JT Miller played with better linemates than Elias Pedersen because JT Miller produced.

[01:55:01]

And last night talk, it gave Pedersen to Miller. Like, that was.

[01:55:06]

That was the lotto line.

[01:55:07]

McKayev Miller, Pedersen line and McKay have had a chance early on. He couldn't finish on the nice little one on one with the goalie, and they didn't. They didn't look bad, but they also, for the. Up until the final eight minutes a game, they didn't really do anything. But you can say that about the entire team. Outside of Connor Garland, who was exceptional throughout the entire.

[01:55:28]

Yeah, man. He was great. Yeah.

[01:55:30]

Uh, Lee fans, if you want to get mad all over again, go look at the chances McKay have had in game six against Montreal. It's what, when I saw him not be able to bury that one, I'm like, ah, there he is.

[01:55:41]

Yeah, he's not a finisher.

[01:55:42]

He's. But he's always in the right spot. He's so fast. Like just score.

[01:55:47]

Vancouver fans in the chat called him a passenger.

[01:55:51]

Mchev.

[01:55:51]

Yeah, he is. He's been a passenger all season long. I was like. I was trying to be. I was trying to get him some credit being like, okay, but that's his role. Shouldn't be to be your big scorer. Like he's been kind of doing it if his jobs to get out there and just kind of do the dirty things for that line. Like he's been okay at that. But he's also just been riding along, doing a lot of cardio. And I. I'm not going to argue against the Vancouver fans who think he's been a passenger this season.

[01:56:15]

What? What's that, Jesse?

[01:56:16]

What's up?

[01:56:16]

Oh, yeah, sure. I will tell you Ilya McKayev's buyout because a lot of people were asking yesterday, it is 1234 years. 1.152.151.

[01:56:31]

Think you just keep them for at least another year.

[01:56:33]

I don't know if it's that bad, but like we're talking about.

[01:56:39]

That's what I said. That's what I mean. Like the Canuck, the Canucks needed a couple extra productive forwards people. Somebody tweeted at, tweeted it out or something. I don't know if it was at me or whatever. But man, what the cadets could really use to fully antenna of this series, man.

[01:56:52]

Well, you know, and they could have had them. You know what's funny? Like you mentioned, you know, they could have used a couple other forwards. They unloaded Anthony Bouvillier for nothing.

[01:57:04]

Then he went on to play them.

[01:57:06]

Well, yeah, and then he went on to play them in the first round. But also, like there have been Brock Besser rumors for years and then he frigging went off this year. But like we were talking about Connor Garland at the beginning of the season, like in October, like it was a foregone conclusion. He was gone. And part of that is their cap.

[01:57:25]

JT Miller was almost a penguin. Oh, the Penguins not figured, had not had hackstall figured out the cap situation, JT Miller would have been a penguin this year.

[01:57:33]

Right? So like they were trying to unload all these forwards. Patterson's getting an enormous raise and they need more.

[01:57:42]

Mm hmm.

[01:57:43]

I think they just needed a healthy Brock besser. And couple guys get a little older and they'll be fine. That and they're starting goalie like silos. See, loves. She loves.

[01:57:52]

She loves.

[01:57:53]

She loves was really good.

[01:57:56]

I don't know Thatcher, Demko, Demko wouldn't have helped that game. Seven. I don't think there's she loves saved. I think three clear. Should have, should have been in the back of the net. Every goal Edmonton scored was a goal. I don't think any goalie is really stopping. There was no, they were almost, you have, you have the greatest goaltender in the net last game. Like, I don't think they win, win the game when they have no ability to generate offense out outside of the, the end there and, and with the other guys in the forward group. I think like you expected more from Lindholm. Like, we're talking about you. You bring in the forward group, you expected more from Lindholm. Get, getting him at the, at the deadline there and guys like Lafferty, you expect it to step up and you don't get anything there. And they're obviously missing Besser. But if you look back to games six and even if you go to five, the Canucks finish the series, it's either over 18 or over 19. I'm pretty sure it's over 18. On the power play to end the series. Brock Messer was in those games, you know, like their forward group didn't produce offensively at all.

[01:58:58]

You can't win a series when you can't score on the PowerPoint play.

[01:59:01]

Well, you can't score in the power play. You get outshot into oblivion, which is what happened in the first round. Also, you won. Like Rick Talkett, I think as a motivator, is incredible. As a speaker, I think is incredible. I don't know if he had the greatest playoff man.

[01:59:21]

He didn't adjust in the Nashville series when Nashville was shutting them down. And the only thing that got Vancouver through that was they were very opportunistic. Opportunistic on the goals, right. They were consistently outshot, consistently out possessed like it was. And then you, you take it to game five and you're like, oh, Vancouver could actually do this. But in game six, Edmonton really put down the, put down the hammer. And what was interesting, the game five to game six, comparable is in game five, Edmonton comes out, dominates the first, and then Vancouver really has the second and the third period. They really do win it outright. But, but Edmonton in that first period, I think, learned something. And they were like, oh, we can just do that for three periods. And the next game they did, and there was no adjustment, again, from talking to the coaching staff, you know, give the Edmonton penalty kill credit. But I I look at the.

[02:00:07]

Give Edmonton credit. I mean, they won, but I look.

[02:00:09]

At the, I look at the Canucks power play and it felt a lot like the Leafs where you've got too many stars on one. And it's weird because whenever Toronto played its second power play unit, it seems like things got done. Whereas, you know, you look at Vancouver second power play unit, I thought they were more productive at times in this series. And I think you got to spread the wealth around a little bit.

[02:00:30]

Yeah, I agree. And like, I know, I know the power play is going to suck up a lot of attention today. I mean, five on five, it wasn't close. And it reminded me of games one through four of the Lees Bruins series. The Canucks were doing dump and don't chase. They were just, here you go. Here you go back. Here you go, here you go. And I know you're just, you're just trying to get it out. And every now and then that's okay. Sometimes you just got to survive. But every shift they were surviving. I think like they were playing with fire.

[02:01:03]

From basically puck drop to Adam's point about talk it and is kind of not having a great playoffs. I think it. It leans itself too. He needs to be able to adjust, uh, the style of play for Vancouver to lend itself more of the playoffs because the way they play in the regular season, which was very successful and very impressive to watch, was they're able to generate a lot of neutral zone turnovers and when they get those chances in the offensive zone, they're able to capitalize them like every single chance they'd get, they didn't need a lot of them because they would always bury it. And it led to like some people looking at their stats and being like, oh, they're on PDO benders. But that was just kind of how they played. You know, that was, that was their, that was their formula for success and it worked. When they get to the playoffs, you can't low shot your way to victory in the playoffs. You know, it's not an effective strategy. And what they're doing, putting up 17 shots, putting up 15 shots in a.

[02:01:53]

Game and they're not high quality shots. Let's put them.

[02:01:55]

And they're not, they're not high danger shots either. I believe they had the third lowest shot total ever in the playoffs through their 1st 1010 games, the first ten games of the Stanley cup playoffs. You can't win that way.

[02:02:19]

Hi, Steve Dangle here on the STPN YouTube channel. We are streaming game one of the Eastern Conference final between the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers. The Panthers currently lead the Rangers. There's one nothing. Now 56 people have become members of the YouTube channel during this stream. It's not enough. It's nice, but it's not enough. We're small business here. We're trying to do big tings. We're trying to pay bills here. So I have pledged. If we hit 100 subscribers gained or members gained, rather, paid members. SDP VIP's. If we hit 100 and we are 44 shy, I will eat a chocolate chip muffin doused in mustard. I don't know why Justin Fisher is so disgusted by this. He's not the one who has to eat it, and neither am I yet. On account of we're 44 shy. Speedy vee says Costco food court gravy is elite. Try it, please. What? Excuse me? Like, literally just go to Costco and be like, I would like a cup of gravy, please. Peter Laviolette on the bench. Hope he had a hell of a speech in there because the Rangers only have twelve shots on goal through two periods, which is a new low for these playoffs.

[02:04:26]

Rangers begin the third period with 30 seconds of power play. Let's see what they do with it. Panarin with it. Crider around. Panthers really doing a good job holding the Rangers to the perimeter here. Fox loses it. And that'll basically do it for the power play all the way down the ice. Boy, he really lost it. They might have enough time to gain the zone before Sam Bennett comes out of the box for the Panthers. They gained the zone. And here comes Bennett. He might have a break. Oh, puck just out of reach for him. Uh oh. Steve Bray gifted 20 STPN memberships. Oh, crap. Thank you, Steve. Let's go. Let's go. That brings us up to 70. Is it okay? Cool, cool. 75. Cool, cool. You think I won't do it? I'll do it. I'm not gonna wait till the end of the game either. I'm just gonna do it. Something free you can do is hit, like, on the stream. That's all you gotta do. Hit, like. I'm not even asking you to subscribe. No, I don't want you clogging up. First of all, we're not going to clog up nothing. We're great.

[02:06:13]

We make great stuff. But it's free to click. Like, we're at 584. Why not hit 600? Why stop there? Why not a thousand Rangers in the ozone? We're only about 90 seconds into the third period here. Wonder when the last time the Rangers were shut out was that goes a mile wide of the net and no ranger was really there to get it. Oh, I said shutout. Whatever. That's what you get for eliminating the Leafs last year. Get wrecked. Rodriguez with it. Clears it. Panthers. Whoa, boy. Barkov, real aggressive. Lindgren fighting for his life back there. See, the Panthers never quite crawl into a shell. Uh oh, five more SCPN memberships from face mask there. 81. Oh, Teresenko stopped by. Shasturkin. Good save. Oh, Barkov. I thought he had a man in front there on, behind the net. Paneran alone with it on. Bobroski can't handle it. And he gloves it or covers it up rather. Just over three minutes into the second period. Eris mix, gifted five STPM memberships. And the comment that made me laugh, Jamie Reid said, it puts the mustard on its muffin. Okay, here's what I'm not gonna do. I'm not going to put the mustard on the muffin until the moment I have to because I don't want it, like, soaking into the.

[02:08:22]

Oh, my God. Oh, no. Oh, sh. Andrew E. And Drew Blade, gifted five and ten memberships respectively. Does that bring us over 100? We're at 101. No, I'm not supposed to be celebrating. Drew, shut up. Oh, Jacqueline gifted five memberships. Thank you. Do I have to swallow it? I gotta. What do you mean? Drew goes. You gotta at least swallow one bite. Like Joe Rogan on fear factor. All right, we're gonna next. Commercial break. I'll do it. No, screw that. Imagine they score. James goes and puts the mustard on its muffin. ECB line in front. Rebound. Stop by shasturkin. And Kaczuk being a jerk in front of the net. Well, everybody, thanks for helping us hit 100 new members. That. What do you mean? That's barely anything. You're a piece of crap, Drew. Oh, my God. Oh, that's a lot. It's not good at all. The faster I eat it, the faster it's over. Down the hatch without a scratch. Click. Like, click. Subscribe. Tell all your friends. Jesus. Oh. Steeson says, why does it look like she's. You know what sucked about that a lot. Besides, the general experience of it is because it's not a cupcake.

[02:11:07]

You could trick yourself into being like, this is a hot dog. This is what a hot dog bun tastes like. And then the chocolate hits. And let me tell you, the mustard and the chocolate do not complement each other at all. Oh, here come the panthers on stop by shasturkin oh, Keanu Miller just standing there. Sendlin almost getting an opportunity. Here comes vc up the other way. Dumps it in. Oh, you guys are monsters. We might have to go and get the beer. Rinse this flavor away. I don't know if that'll make it worse, though. Do not. Don't say glizzy cake. That's. Oh, my good lord. Rangers. Dude, we're 45 minutes into this game. They have 13 shots. No wonder you haven't scored. Bob's made a few really good saves, but it's been a while since his last one bite is biting. Two bites is eating. Well, in that case, I bit the muffin and Chad pretty with a pretty good idea. Upgrading to SDP vip ad free. Andrew E. Says, brother, it was your idea. Whoa. Lindgren almost cost his team a goal there. Bennett collects the turnover. Oh, good move, Rodriguez. Ooh. Backhand.

[02:12:53]

And it goes up and out. Boy, the Rangers have gotta screw their heads on. God, that was gross. Don't say I never did anything for this company. Click. Like click subscribe. Tell all your friends as we head into a tv timeout. Somewhere. Keef. This is from Death Eater 91. Somewhere Keef is just suddenly. Oh, summer. Keef just suddenly thought he didn't play the Riley Brody pair enough in round one this year. You know, I don't think he's thinking that. He's thinking, um. Hey, the Devils are wild on account of they have defensemen who shoot right. Who is the best right handed defenseman the Leafs had during Sheldon Keef's tenure? Who are the candidates? Connor Timmons, Timothy Lillegren, Ilya Labushkin, Luke Shen. And this guy's going to. Dougie Hamilton, Simon Nemech. Not bad. Just lawns, much like ov from the point he put some mustard on it. I don't want to hear mustard ever again. Oh. Andrew E. Points out Keef did have Tyson, Barry, Jeff. He says Mitch Marner. That's a very funny answer on account of it's true. Felix Podman. Good answer. Whoa. Where's the beef? Beef gifted 50 SDBN memberships. Holy. Let's go, beef.

[02:15:10]

Go, beef. Keef is thinking, do I get to meet Pat Warburton? Now? I'm not gonna lie. I don't know who that is. Is that the Seinfeld guy? The Devils? It is the Seinfeld guy. Okay, Rangers, d zone draw and they win it. Good stat on the sports in broad. Oh, never mind, Rangers. Oh, good one timer. Kind of a tough angle, though. Let's get some beef in the chat. Everyone comment your favorite cut of beef. That's something that's good with mustard. Hot mustard, that is. Drew goes. Is it? Sorry, I forgot. It's not like friggin Mac and cheese and olives or whatever the hell it is you eat for dinner. Friggin weirdo. Seven minutes gone in the third period. Rangers still need a goal to tie this thing. I think they've gotten two shots this period. One of them was just now, and it was a decent chance. 30. That's a great username. 30 to 50.

[02:16:46]

Feral.

[02:16:47]

Hoagland's unironically the best right handed defenseman Sheldon Keef had with the Leafs was Justin hall. That one year. I assume you mean the Canada year. Dude, that might be the answer, dude. And he's going to Dougie Hamilton. Wow. That was actually a really good chance from Capo Caco there. And Bob just made a great save. So the Rangers, okay, they're getting there. They're getting some chances. It's not like the Panthers are having an abundance of success here. They've only got the one goal as the Rangers ice the puck. 1212 to go in the third period. Satisfying. That was extremely kind of brief. Anton Lindell taking on Mika Zabanajad. Nope. Lindell gets kicked out, and it's Carter for Hagee. Zabanajad cleans him out. Kiandre Miller advances to puck up the ice. Rossovic couldn't collect it in his feet. Panthers turn it right back the other way. Here they come. Brihigi stop by the toe of Shasturkin. That came closer to going in than you think. The puck hit Steve Kazari. Watch Sheldon keef make it to the conference finals. Dude, I'd believe it. Justice Brinson, who just became an SDP VIP. Watch the video of the kid saying, I smell like beef.

[02:18:55]

Panthers. Oh, my goodness. A rip from Oliver Ekman Larsen from almost the exact same spot that Matthew Kachuk scored from in the first period. And it's two nothing. Panthers. Rangers looking at this on the bench. I don't know what they're looking for. Stenland led the attack, and he passes it to his countryman, Ekman Larson, who rips it. Oh, this is going to be a very interesting call. So they're going to look at goaltender interference here. Ryan Lomberg is way deep in the blue paint. Lindgren. Ryan Lindgren knocks Lomberg into Shasturkin. I think you should challenge this because Lombard isn't the one who initiates contact necessarily. But based on how they called the no goal in the overtime of the Colorado Dallas game. I think this should come back. Yeah, the Rangers are challenging it. He was shoved into the goalie, but he. He put himself so deep in the blue paint that I think he was going to make contact with Shasturkin regardless. Yeah, I mean, it's not a great decision from Lindgren. Like, oh, boy. Here's the thing. If you know the answer. No, you don't. It's the NHL. So what was the call on the ice?

[02:20:49]

Good goal, boy. Like, to me, this is a lot like that one from Colorado Dallas, and that was waved off right away. So the key difference between the two is Lomberg losing his mind. The key difference between the two is the Dallas one was called off on the ice immediately. This one was called a good goal. Let's see. Dan O'Rourke. No goal. Wow. Rangers get away with one there. You know what? Like, Lindgren does shove Lomberg in, but, like, Lomberg, he, like, climbs over Shasturkin's leg. Can't be in the blue paint. That might be the first successful challenge on a Steve Dangle stream. I tell you what, it might be the first successful challenge for goalie interference. Andrew, do set. Someone in the NHL head office got a kid on the Panthers goal. No, didn't work this time. So the Rangers with an opportunity to tie this. Donnie, would you ever. Would you ever do a short, maybe five minutes or less on Leafs GM Jesse Blake and his moves in the leaf series? I think that'd be hilarious. Maybe hat guy could do it. I would definitely look into that. That could be really funny.

[02:22:59]

Lindgren with a nasty cut on his face, by the way, the poll in the chat asked if it was a goal. 55% of you said no goal, and 44% of you said goal. That was 242 votes, Rangers. Okay? You get. You come out on top in that challenge. It's nearly halfway through the third period that you've been losing the whole time. You have two shots. Panthers shoot from the exact spot. Again, I think that was Barkov, and it was gloved by Shasturkin. That'll be an ozone face off for the Florida Panthers, which will suit them just fine on account of they have the lead. Drew, asking a good question. Do you? Do I think this is the kind of goal that the league wanted waved off when they made this challenge a thing? I, like, genuinely don't know the answer to that. Like, I wish I could give you something sexy. No one knows what is and isn't a goal. I tell you what. This is the most straightforward I've seen it in a long time because we had the precedent set in the Dallas Colorado game. You can't do this. This instance was very similar to that.

[02:24:35]

And they also waved it off. If this was a goal and the Dallas one wasn't, explain it to me like I'm five oh. Panarin came so close to tying it there in the neutral zone. Rangers trying to attack with speed. Boy, the Panthers are clogging that slot so well. Lafrenier gets his own chip in. It's at the point now. Lindgren. Oh, it makes its way through. Bob stops it. Trocheck taken down. No call. He's got it behind the net. Now in front. He defers again. Boy. Trocheck taking abuse in this game. Lafreniere is going to get called. Yep, that's a bad penalty, kid. A hook on Dmitry Kulakov. And they hate that at MSG, but that's the right call. J Rock says Brett hall was also in the blue paint. You rock. Thank you. Rangers are going to be short handed with 932 to go in the third period in a period that offensively is not going well for them at all. Ah, Sheffield, with a great comment that I should have done in the video that I shot for producer drew. Can we get a welcome from Ken Danico to Sheldon Keefe? Well, Sheldon, welcome to New Jersey, where everything is possible, where we've won multiple championships, and I know that you're going to bring them another one.

[02:26:19]

We have great players here, like Audrey Pilot, Jesper Brott, Jack Hughes, and of course, our captain, Nico. He sure. This coaching announcement is brought to you by the New Jersey State lottery. Remember, anything can happen in Jersey. I'm out of practice. Joshua Doss. What about a hat guy animated series? Yo, I've looked into doing animated stuff several times over my career. Do you know how friggin expensive animation is? The only reason we had any for these streams is, you know, basically a former co worker. Rob contacted us and was like, hey, I worked on this. And we were like, holy shit. That's freaking incredible. Can you do more of that? He said yes, but, like, it's not cheap. I have a friend I went to school with. He has his own animation company. Man is not cheap. JC, who's your favorite player on each of Florida and New York, and why? Hmm. Hmm. Rangers. I do like DJZ bad. The trocheck no call was way worse than Lafreniere. Penalty. It's weird. You can basically body check the dog crap out of anybody. But the second you hook anyone, they're gonna call it like, no one knows what goalie interference is.

[02:28:04]

No one knows what a penalty is. Welcome to the playoffs. Kachuk puts it wide. Favorite panther. I'm gonna say Aaron Ekblad is. One time I ran into him, a hotel lobby. It was a. It was at the MGM grand in Las Vegas, and he was with a friend, and he introduced me to his friend. He goes, you ever see Steve Dangle or. No? He goes, this is Steve Dangle. You ever see his YouTube shit? Aaron Akblad, ladies and gentlemen. Brandon Montour. At the point verhege puts it on stop by Shasturkin. High and cleared. Penalty, halfway killed. Reinhardt has not been as noticeable since taking that huge hit. Bang from Montour. Shasturkin knocks it out of play. This is Steve Dangle. You ever see his YouTube shit? I interviewed the first time I met Aaron EcBlad. I interviewed him at a Nike event. He was 15. And the picture is hilarious because I'm looking up at him. I was a adult. He's just a really, really, really big guy. Oh, drew with a great question. Who's the biggest player I've ever interviewed? Oh, it would have to. It's either Victor Hedman, who I've interviewed, or Jake Ottinger, one of the two.

[02:30:14]

I think headman's bigger. So much of Jake Ottinger's height is in his head. He's got a really tall head. Gorgeous, though. Gorgeous human being. It's not fair. Rodriguez lets the puck go through his legs. Lindell at the point on post. Rangers clear it. Victor Hedman's two inches taller than Jake Ottinger. Really? He's friggin huge. There was a guy at a Marley's game once who was just walking around the concourse and people were taking pictures with him. And he's the biggest person I've ever seen. He had to be. He had to be like seven over 7ft tall. Heavy, too. Big hit there from Truba. Here comes Lafreniere. Shot. Bob. Rebound. Oh, Truba. It's behind the net. Bob doesn't have a stick. Truba blocked. Rebound. Crossbar. How haven't the Rangers tied it? Oh, my goodness. Lafrenier dumps it. How on earth. MSG is absolutely buzzing right now. Here comes reinhardt the other way. Panthers into the corner. Penalty. Penalty. Too many men on the ice for Florida. I wondered if it was. Oh, Paul Maurice looks livid. Their assistant coach. Oh, that's a hilarious reaction. Evan Rodriguez losing it the whole Panthers bench is losing it right now.

[02:32:12]

We have four. Yeah, but it's not about four. That's interesting. All right. Big hit from Trubon Stenland. That was the hit in the high slot there. Oh, Bob with an incredible save in that flurry there. Oh, with the blocker. With the inside of his blocker. How on earth didn't the Rangers score? And I see 123-4567 you know what? I'm not gonna lie. Palmer race might have an argument here because at one point there were seven Panthers. But I don't know if that had any impact on who was playing the puck. I'd have to get another look at it to know if they made the right call there. But the Rangers have a chance to tie it. Shot high. Zabanajad with it all. The Rangers working it around well here. Panarin below the goal line for crider. Pinarin, Fox. Oh, down low. Trojack stopped. That's a good save there from Bob. He hasn't faced a lot of shots tonight, but he's made some real good saves. Panthers clear it, math. Tron says, I love having ESPN plus so I can rewind it. Will tell me if that was the right call. And the penalty. Here come the Rangers.

[02:33:57]

Bob out of his net to play it. Panthers wasting time along the half wall. A sea of humanity. Stenlin, Miikola Lutzerin and Trochak zabanajab. Panarin, crider, dig it out. Oh, it's loose. It's loose. Zabanajad to the point. Fox. Fox. Oh, stop from Bob. 30 seconds to go in this Rangers power play. Where is it, Fox? Zabandajad, top unit staying out there. Zabandajad into the corner. Crider loses it. Rangers. Oh, did they hold the zone there and. Oh, oh, we got a no whistle. Rangers looking for a high stick. Why are you stopping playing? Oh, my God, here comes Lutzerin. Oh, and the Panthers almost score. I can't believe what I just saw. Whoa. Shasturkin punching his man. Rangers gotta watch, not take a penalty here. Whoever that was who got high stick? Just feeling his face slowly sauntering off. What are you doing? Keep playing. Oh, they show the trocheck chance before commercial break, but not the high stick. Dude, even if it's a high stick play. Took your glove off. You're going, oh, dude, a question in the chat. Why is Steve Kasari reffing the Eastern Conference final? Man, you know Wes McCauley gets hammered for not being the greatest reference.

[02:36:16]

Boy, Steve Kazari's name has been mentioned a lot. A lot in these playoffs. Who was the guy that Canucks fans hated? Was that Kazari? There have been a few ref names coming out a lot. Ellen saying it wasn't even a high stick, bro. Got hit with the puck. Regardless, man. Play. Play. If you're okay enough to skate off, you're okay enough to stay in the play, for God's sake. Wazoo says cheers from Portland, Maine. Steve and two lobsters. Cheers. Grab people crab people. Taste like crab, talk like people. Florida is ten oh. And one with referee Dan O'Rourke over the past two seasons, and he's refing tonight with Kazari. Wow. Oh, let me guess. Dan O'Rourke calls fewer penalties than other restaurants. Bobroski allowed one goal on 43 shots in his last two games. Oh, thank you. Chat. Kelly Sutherland forsling under five minutes to go here in the third. Feels like the Rangers are only just coming alive offensively. Still haven't even hit 20 shots. Oh, Rangers tried to clear it there. A line's been gotten the way, but it might be a blessing in disguise. Here they come. Kiandre Miller. Panthers. Turn the Rangers around.

[02:38:18]

They've done such a good job tonight. Thank you. I'm just me. Hey, you. Rangers. Old zabanda jab was alone in front. Roslovic can't hold it. Here come the Panthers. Keep an eye on Shasturkin. Under four minutes to go here. Whoa. Way out of the net to play it. Compute completely. Oh. All the Rangers just scored on their own net. Alexei Laverne here just scored on his own net. What was Igor doing? What was he doing? He went out of the net, played it to nobody. Verhege chips it by Kiandre Miller. Oh, no. Verhege Lafrenier tries to break up what I think he thought was a pass, and he just straight up beats Shasturkin. Five hole if you're a goaltender, ten the goal if you're laughing here, score on the other net to nothing with 339 to go in the third period. And the easiest goal of Carnivore Hagee's career because he didn't even score it himself. You know what? Like, Lafreniere wears that because ultimately he's the guy who did it. But I don't know what Shisurkan was friggin doing. I know he was trying to play it up the glass. Dude, you better pull it off.

[02:40:16]

You better do a good job. That's one of the worst, like, plays of the puck I've ever seen from a goaltender. The body language of the, of the Rangers is awful. Like, I know that's gutting for you, but, dude, it's 2024. You're down two with 333 to go. That's not insurmountable. It's bad news. It's not insurmountable. Rangers. When the ozone draw Shasturkin on the bench. Puck goes out of play. Smef says, hey, laugh. Do that. But the other way, he might get an opportunity. Empty net. That is a dang it. Big face off here. Rangers win it again. Fox Lafronier is on the ice to try to get a goal here for the Rangers. Jamie Reid says, I'm behind, but it's Kelly Sutherland. Thank you. Rangers at the point. Boom. Wide. Panthers clear. Fox prevents it from going all the way down the ice. Three minutes to go in the third period here. Rangers hold the line with the glove. Oh, Panarin, it's in the corner. Trocheck after it. Panarin tries to get it around a crider. Doesn't work. Still doesn't work. Bang. Rebound. Stop from Bob. Shot. Where is it? Loose at the side of the net.

[02:42:11]

Bob covers it up with 236 to go in the third. I keep feeling the back of my head because when laugh scored on his own net and I went like this, I actually, like, scratched the back of my head really hard because I just lost all control of my motor functions because I could not believe what I saw. 236 to go in the third period. Time out for the Rangers on the bench for game two. Whatever happens in this next two and a half minutes, I think you got to put remp in the fourth line of the Panthers. Grossly outplayed the Rangers fourth line. And the Rangers have had no emotion. Horrible body language. Like, I just think you need Rempy mania to course through MSG purely for the emotion of it all. Andrew, do set. Wow. Rangers are good. Just not good enough. Florida in five. Aggressive. Barkov. Zabanajad. Barkov wins the draw. Panthers clear the zone. Fox in the Rangers zone. Oh, boy. Blind pass. Careful. Paneran gets it. Bad pass. Rangers dump it in, but with no speed. Bob out to play it. Panthers clear it again. Profit asking Adam tomorrow right for Oilers stars.

[02:44:18]

Yes, Rangers. Ailer, air mail it in. Panthers clear it again. Boy, the Rangers do not have a solution here. Shot. Oh, Rangers keep it out of their empty net, but the Panthers are in the ozone with the puck. Paneran, 90 seconds to go up the middle. Lafreniere kicks it to z. Bad. Lafrenure around to nobody. Here comes Bennett into the empty net scores with a minute 19 to go in the third period. The Panthers go up three nothing in game one of the Eastern Conference final. And, Shirley, that's enough. Wow, wow, wow. From this, Donnie, if you and Drew love us finger flick will be part of next season's LFR intro. Perhaps not the audio, but maybe the visual of it. And math Tron says they look like how they played in games five and seven last year. I mean, the Panthers look so poised, and the Rangers just. They've looked miserable, like, from puck drop. I don't get it. Like, I'm really, really surprised by what we've seen out of the New York Rangers here. Look at that bench. Look at that bench. Look at that bench. Oh, they look terrible. Like, it's game one.

[02:46:18]

No one died. Big block there from Lombard. Rangers trying to spoil the shutout with under a minute to go as we get a whistle. High fives for Lomberg, man. Great energy player, that Lomberg. Do you think the laugh own goal decided the game? Well, yeah, I mean, the game was within reach, and that kind of killed it, but, like, I'm amazed at how the Rangers reacted to that. Like, yeah, it's gutting, but, like, it's spilt milk. Like, you still have a game to tie. Trubas out there. Look for him to try to get a pound of flesh. Lomberg, though, he's bringing it. Fourth line of the Panthers. Bringing it. Lombard going at Keandre Miller. It's just a little ball of hate that Lombard. Wenberg turns it over to huge Stenland on stop by Shasturkin heedle. Nailed by Niko Mikola. With under 5 seconds to go, and the Panthers dominate. No response for the hit in the final 5 seconds. No response to Lomberg. No response to nothing. That was a poor, poor Rangers performance. That got worse as the night went. Panthers out shoot the Rangers 27 to 23. That doesn't begin to explain how badly outmatched the Rangers were by the Panthers in game one.

[02:48:38]

The Panthers owned them. The Rangers did have their opportunities. They got robbed by Bob. Bob had a few incredible saves. There was a crossbar. It's not like the Rangers did nothing, but when push came to shove, they looked awful, horrible, horrible body language from the New York Rangers. They looked like, to quote one of my favorite video games of all time, FIFA 2001. The Rangers look like they dropped their sandwich in a puddle. Like, all right, yeah, you're down to nothing. It sucks. It sucks. Continue playing, please. Like, what? I couldn't believe that you'd never know that that is a team that had won seven straight playoff games to start the 2024 Stanley cup playoffs. Worth mentioning, even though the Rangers won their first seven games of the 2024 Stanley cup playoffs, they have now lost three of their last four. They lost game four and five to Carolina won game six. Right now they lose game one to the Florida Panthers in a three nothing shutout on home ice. I'm sorry, they played with no emotion. Rempy Mania has to run wild in Madison Square Garden in game two. Has to. I don't think you have a choice.

[02:50:36]

If the fourth line was playing well enough to keep Rempy out of the lineup, it'd be one thing. You need Remp mania to run wild in that building. One team looked like a team who bottled it in last year's playoffs and came very close to bottling it against the Carolina Hurricanes. And one team looked like a team that was in the Stanley cup final less than twelve months ago and is determined to be back there in a couple of weeks. Ooh. Before the playoffs began, my prediction for the cup final was Dallas, New York. The Panthers had played so well these playoffs that I thought about changing it on the podcast. I did change it and then in my preview video today, I stuck with the Rangers so that I could have a consistent answer the whole time. I mean, after game one, the answer is clearly the Florida Panthers are the favorite team right now. Clearly. Clearly. You know, the story for so much of that game was, ah, you know, Shasturkin should have stopped that shot for Matthew Kach, Chuck. And he probably should have. Steam got shut out. They had 14 shots until there was like eight minutes left in the game.

[02:52:09]

That game did not instill confidence in the New York Rangers at all. Good for the Florida Panthers, who are up one nothing in the Eastern Conference final. We will be back. What day is today? Wednesday. We will be back Friday for game two of this series here on the STP on YouTube channel. Tomorrow, right here on this YouTube channel, Adam Wild will be hosting his streams of the Western Conference final between the Edmonton Oilers and the Dallas Stars. By the way, we got up to 156 new members on this stream. Thank you very much for that. As a result, we passed 100. So I ate my chocolate chip muffin covered in mustard. It was friggin disgusting. My tummy does not feel lovely, but anything for a buck from Landon. Now I know how it feels to be a Leaf fan. Landon. Landon. The last time the Leafs lost a game had the had the privilege of losing a game in the Eastern Conference final was 2002. No, you don't. Oh, man. Hey, consider becoming a member, eh? Consider becoming a member. But at very least, the bare minimum that I hope you do is enjoy these streams.
