You You're listening to Comedy Central. Hey there, it's Michael Costa.

[00:01:34]

The Daily Show is on a break this week, but don't worry, we handpicked some of our favorite recent moments from the show, in case you missed them.

[00:01:41]

We'll be back with brand new episodes next week. Until then, enjoy today's episode.

[00:01:47]

Welcome back to The Daily Show. It's been a lot of sports news recently, so for some thoughtful, nuanced debate, we turn to sports war.

[00:01:56]

We're ready for that.

[00:01:58]

It's time for Sports War. Brought to you by Gander.

[00:02:04]

Gander.

[00:02:04]

God wants you to be. What's up, morons? I'm Roni Chan.

[00:02:15]

And I'm Jordan Klepper. This is Sports War, the show where we are legally not allowed to agree with each other. For example, if I say Roni Chan doesn't suck-Oh, well, then I have to disagree with you on that, Jordan.

[00:02:27]

Everybody knows I'm a bad son and a selfish Yes.

[00:02:30]

You left out that you're also rude to service workers. Let's start with the biggest story in sports, the show I've heard around the world.

[00:02:39]

This physical moment involving the WNBA's most high-profile rookie, Raising Questions. Chicago's Kennedy Carter shoulder-checking the fever's Kaitlyn Clarke, knocking her to the ground.

[00:02:54]

Oh, throw the flag, send her to the hay. Come on. Kaitlyn Clarke is clearly getting bullied. I'm sick of it. You can't just push people in sports unless it's football, hockey, dude, basketball, the Little League World Series, or being drunk, dad at the Little League World Series.

[00:03:14]

Well, I hope one of those dads shoves you into traffic, Jordan, because you couldn't be more wrong. As a lifelong WMBA fan since Kaitlyn Clarke joined the league a few weeks ago, I can say with absolute certainty that that shove was barely a foul. Hey, WMBA WMBA needs to get harder. If they want me, their target demographic, to keep watching, okay? You hear that WMBA? Just because you don't have a penis doesn't mean you can't get hard. Just ask Jordan.

[00:03:43]

Are you saying my penis is soft or nonexistent?

[00:03:49]

Whichever hurt your feelings more.

[00:03:52]

Jokes at you, Roni. I'm dead inside. Look, I relate to Kaitlyn Clarke, a superstar at the top of her game, surrounded by jealous peers. It's Kaitlyn, I see you. I am you. We're not going to let bottom feeders like Roni Chang push us around. Which brings us to tonight's J Clebs Can't Lose Bed of the Week. What's the source of Roni Chan's crippling Inferiority Complex? Brought to you by Gambling. Gambling. You can only lose if you stop.

[00:04:21]

Okay, moving on from the greatest women's basketball player to the greatest men's basketball player's son.

[00:04:28]

Roni James, the son of the NBA superstar, LeBron James will remain in the NBA draft.

[00:04:34]

Keseja confirmed his decision today.

[00:04:35]

James will forego his college eligibility after playing one season with USA. Lebron and Bronnie James could be the first father and son duo to play at the same time in the NBA.

[00:04:47]

He's projected to be a second-round pick, primarily because his father is LeBron James.

[00:04:52]

Yo, Bronnie should not enter the NBA at all, okay? There's zero chance he can live up to a legacy of his father. Go do something else like being a tall dentist or a tall architect or a medium-sized, world's tallest man. Quit while you're not ahead.

[00:05:07]

Oh, yeah, that's good advice, Ronny. You should take it. Of course, Bronnie should join the NBA. The children of great people are always great themselves. Don Jr, RFK Jr, Carl's Jr. All great men. The only pressure here is on LeBron. If his sperm can't produce a twelve-time NBA All-Star who reinvigorates the Space Jam franchise, LeBron is overrated.

[00:05:30]

Overrated? That's just what your mom said to me last night.

[00:05:34]

So you made love to my mother poorly?

[00:05:41]

Like I said, Jordan, I'm a selfish lover, which brings us to Roni's Slam Dunk Bed of the Night. Who will be a greater disappointment to their father, Roni James or Jordan Cleffer? As always, brought to you by Gambling. Gambling is like taking candy from a baby, but the candy is money.

[00:05:58]

Five Finally, we turn to the shocking retirement of a sports legend.

[00:06:04]

Well, he has won the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest six times. But Takiru Kobayashi is retiring from competitive eating. He says he has health concerns now he needs to tend to. He's 46 years old and says decades of over eating has left him with no appetite or sensation of fullness.

[00:06:24]

Holy shit. This guy can't tell when he's hungry or It sounds like his stomach just pulled a Jerry Maguire out of him. Just grabbed the goldfish, said adios to the kidney, and walked right out. Does not sound like it was worth it.

[00:06:39]

This was absolutely worth it, okay, Jordan? He got to eat tons of hot dogs, and now he has no appetite. It's like Frio Zempik, okay? Kobi Ashi is a legend, not to mention he's Asian. Shout out, Asians. That's right. I've only gotten to use that four times in my life. And shame on you, Jordan, for not I'm supporting the work of one of our greatest Asian athletes.

[00:07:02]

Hey, you are wrong. You're wrong, Rodney. I fully support his decision to step away from the game, which brings us to our Double Down, Better Than Night. Which Asian that hosts this program will retire next? Brought to you by Gambling. Have you lost the ability to experience sensation? Try gambling. See how worse it can get. Well, we are out of time.

[00:07:23]

Well, I'm not retired.

[00:07:24]

It's too late. The fans have spoken, Rodney. Join us next time on Sports War. We'll be debating pickleball. Better with guns? No, no. I think it is.

[00:07:30]

I do.

[00:07:31]

Are you kidding?

[00:07:32]

When you're doing it- Choosing a credit card can get overwhelming. A lot offer great perks like free burritos or access to fancy airport lounges, but they can also come with huge interest rates that cancel out those perks pretty quickly, especially on big purchases. If you want to knock down those rates but still get everyday perks like cashback, which you can totally use to buy burritos, Avon has a credit card that can help you do that. Avon works like a regular credit card, but taps into your home equity to get you really low interest rates. It's the convenience of a credit card with the savings of a home equity line of credit. And just like any other card, you can make everyday purchases and earn unlimited 2% cashback. Plus, now, Avon lets you use your rental or investment properties towards that home equity line of credit. You just need to verify employment and rental income, upload your tax return, verify your home is in good condition, and you're on your way to having a credit card with an interest rate that doesn't eat up all your burrito money. Head to aven. Com to learn more. That's aven.
