Lemonada. Picture this. You're passing through the woodlands of a small English village. The sun is out and the birds are singing. Underneath your feet, you hear the crunch of the sticks and the leaves and the twigs. And in the distance, you see a pink house. That's my house, well, my childhood home, a 300-year-old cottage sitting on top of a hill. You walk through the doors and inside, you find a magical place, a place of total warmth and love, where I was safe to find my voice. It's a place I still think of when I hear the word home. I'm Sam Smith, and welcome to the Pink House.

I love being in the Pink House with you.

Join me as I talk to my friends and some amazing queer icons about their idea of home, like Elliot Page, Ocean Vuong, Joel Kim Booster, and Gloria Estefan.

Music was always my escape. It was my happy place. I love being trans just because I love being trans, and I love trans people.

I really take those lessons that my mom and my grandmother taught me that anybody could be family. It's not about blood, it's about unconditional love.

[00:01:29]

We'll hear stories of belonging, chosen families, and the journeys we take to become who we're destined to be.

Then I got a job at a Cold Stone Creamery, which is the underground railroad for gay teens in any suburban environment.

It was the best. I was like, Oh, I'm never being straight again. It's beautiful. Your safe space, babe, it's come clear, is living in the fast lane. I absolutely love it. From Lemonada Media, The Pink House is out June 13th. Follow wherever you get your podcasts. And now I'm like, living for it. Get it out.

I'm like, Let's get sweaty, honey. Just, yes.
