Good morning, millennialss, and welcome back to The Toast. Happy Tuesday that feels seriously like a Friday. It's like, oh my God, so much to talk about, so much to celebrate, so much to be grateful for.

[00:00:10]

It feels like a Saturday. Just fun, good times. You guys, if you don't follow us on Instagram, one, what is you doing?

[00:00:17]

What is you doing?

[00:00:19]

And two, Claudia and I are together. Yeah. That's why it's an extra special Tuesday. That feels like a Saturday. It's a Tuesday, and turdy chose me.

[00:00:28]

Yes, I took a very impromptu You Flight last night. I had been thinking about coming. Ben has gone this whole week playing in a Proam, which is a golf tournament where professionals team up with amateurs. It's like a celebrity Proam. And Ben is like one of the celebs playing with a pro, and he's really excited about it. And I tried not to clown on him because it is cool, and it's a big deal. So I'm happy for him. And you know how I loathe being alone. And I don't know, it was just... I thought I could do it. And the second... I actually left before Ben did. I couldn't do it. I got so free because I just can't be alone. I don't like it. It's so boring. Well, So I'm here.

[00:01:00]

New York's loss is my gain. I'm so happy you're here. When you told me you were thinking about it, I was so excited. I was like, Stay home for a little bit. Wait till you're itching to get out. And then all of a sudden, I'm getting a pedicure, and she's like, You couldn't wait for me till tomorrow. And I was like- I do need a pedicure. I still need a manicure, so sure.

[00:01:18]

And also, there was just so much reason to come. Nobody here has met Romeo, except for your husband. When he came to New York, he met Romeo. But Romeo hasn't been introduced to Bruno or the human beings in this family. Not me. I never met him. Olivia hadn't. So it was like- He didn't meet all his cousins? It was just necessary. I have no regurts. I'm so glad I came. And we have so much work to do, actually. We have a photoshoot that we need to... We have some new merch coming out that's going to be so sick. Maybe our sickest drop yet. So we can be together for the photoshoot instead of when we do our transatlantic photoshoots, which are good, but it's not as good as us being together. We have Patreon's, podcast, blogs, TikToks to make. It's honestly, it's a content week.

[00:01:58]

It's a content house. Yeah.

[00:02:00]

Up right now. This morning, I was running around making content with the sourdough.

[00:02:02]

Where's the lighting? Where's the selfie light?

[00:02:04]

And I had to try your sourdough. I had to come.

[00:02:07]

She had to come. So you did try my sourdough, the one that I made two days ago that I said on Instagram, I made some mistakes. I wasn't proud of it, but it's still edible. And it was really nice and tasty. It was in my bread box. But then I also made a fresh loaf of sandwich bread because I thought that you deserve fresh bread for your stay. Yeah.

[00:02:22]

So I got here yesterday and I had two slices of bread, one from, like you said, this not perfect two-day-old sourdough. She toasted up, put a a little butter and salt. And the thing is, you could put butter and salt on a piece of crap.

[00:02:35]

On a duty.

[00:02:35]

On an actual log of duty, and it would be the best thing. So it's really unfair to judge, but it was really good. And I could tell if it was a little bit Right?

[00:02:45]

Wryder? The taste was good, but the consistency is not. That's what I'm working on.

[00:02:48]

But you had also made a perfect loaf of sandwich bread. Let me tell you this bread, it was so good. Like the sandwich bread. I know everyone, sourdough this, sourdough that. And I'm sure once I have a perfect piece, I'll be on I'm not sure what the word, but sandwich bread, homemade.

[00:03:03]

Five ingredients.

[00:03:04]

I understand there's this movement behind sourdough, and I need that same energy for sandwich bread because it was so doughy, so soft, lighter than air, plus the salt and the butter. It was truly heavenly, and just a delicious way to end a long day, a long travel day.

[00:03:18]

Yeah, just a nice piece of bread. I should have added some honey. Do you like a little honey?

[00:03:21]

No, I don't like honey.

[00:03:23]

She doesn't like honey.

[00:03:24]

I mean, I do...

[00:03:26]

Well, the sandwich bread was made with sourdough discard, so it was inspired by the sourdough. But I I think the big difference is in my people like sourdough is it doesn't require yeast because your starter is what's fermenting and what's going to make it rise. And because there's no yeast, it's really digestible for your body, which is what makes it healthy. Whereas when you do the discard recipes, if you're making other bread, you do use yeast, and apparently yeast, we're anti-yeast, I guess. That I'm not down with. Also, someone gave me a tip if my sourdough is having a hard time rising to put some yeast in it just while I get the hang of things.

[00:03:55]

That's against the rules. Screw sisterhood. Literally.

[00:03:59]

Screw Sourdough. Yeah, I haven't done it. And I have a new one going today, taking all of my learnings because I know what I did wrong last time. And so today we try again. We're troubleshooting.

[00:04:08]

So I'm going to be here just watching Sourdough, probably making content. And I also felt like, I feel like we do remote episodes for long stretches of time, but they need a break. We need episodes in person together just to keep the juice and the freshness of the toast alive. So we felt like also for the podcast, I had to come down here. It's layered.

[00:04:29]

Yeah, I feel that. Just to switch things up. It keeps things exciting and fresh. There's a new energy, new. The flamingos get their shine.

[00:04:38]

Even though they have been getting their shine.

[00:04:40]

Even though they have been. So yes, I agree. There was more reasons to come. There was no reason not to come.

[00:04:44]

No. And over the last two years since you've lived here, I've slowly accumulated things here. I don't really need to pack anything. I brought Romeo's food and some sports bras because I plan to go for a run.

[00:04:56]

Because we're going to be so active because even though we're together and we're on our wellness journeys, if you come in the way of mine, I told her I'm packing her things, I will drive on the highway.

[00:05:05]

I don't like the inference you're making that I have this reputation for coming here and destroying your health journey. It's just us being together, we feel like celebrating and having a sweet treat.

[00:05:13]

Exactly. Family is love And food is a part of that, and that's huge. But also when we're both on our diet, let's just get real.

[00:05:20]

Yeah, I like how we, by the way, I like how we've been saying wellness and health journeys because diet is a word you can't say anymore, but we're going to say it. We're on diet.

[00:05:27]

We're on diet. Here's what it is. It's not you being a bad influence or me, but I'll go through the day, and I have a couple of points in my day where I get really hungry, and I'm like, okay, I need to overcome- Sustain. I need to go get my snack, get creative, make something. But when I'm with you, you have your points in the day. So your points become my points, and I wasn't even hungry, but we're in the kitchen because you're hungry. Therefore, I'm eating when I wasn't even hungry yet. I think instead of blaming me- And vice versa. No, sorry. And vice versa.

[00:05:51]

I think instead of blaming me, you should just blame the layout of your house. Your kitchen is really at the center of all the other points, and it just becomes the natural hanging out place, more so than the living room. So maybe you should move if you want to lose weight.

[00:06:06]

No, I'm doing okay. I just think I need to ignore your hunger cues and listen to my own. Yeah.

[00:06:11]

And by the way, I agree because every time I'm in a good stride and I come down here, it's destroyed. Also for the Patreon, I think we always feel like we have to be eating on camera.

[00:06:18]

We're about to do a moopong.

[00:06:20]

I do want to do a crumble cookie moopong, so we have to make space in our diet for that.

[00:06:23]

I think we can do a crumble cookie moopong, not to be toxic. Turn this off, seriously, if you can handle it. If we Wait, don't eat all day, and then we do it at five o'clock.

[00:06:32]

I thought you were going to say, We do a cookie mookbong, and then we make ourselves throw up. I thought that you were going to say, Oh, man, she's really crazy.

[00:06:40]

No, I was going to say, We don't eat all day. And if we can do that, and then at five o'clock, we can have cookies.

[00:06:44]

I've ended up on crumble cookie talk. And while the cookies look really good, people keep putting the calories. I thought you were going to say, For the vlog, we'll throw up. Okay, she's crazy. But do you know that there's between 800 and 1,000 calories in one crumble cookie? So So even if we can control ourselves, which who can? Who can have one bite of a delicious cookie? How much calories is a bite? 200?

[00:07:08]

That's crazy.

[00:07:09]

I know. I really was shocked. Where's the FDA? That's crazy.

[00:07:13]

Damn. Okay. I don't know if that's in our... Also, there are so many points in our life where we're not on a diet. Maybe we do that then.

[00:07:20]

I was watching this girl's TikTok because I have ended up on diet talk. And there was this girl who she's like, I'm trying to lose 100 pounds in the next year or whatever. And she was like, I'm sharing what I'm learning because I'm not someone who's ever done. This is all new to me. So I actually really related to her journey because I had never really known much about health culture. And she was like, her video of this day was like, it shocks me when I think about how many calories I used to eat. And now I'm minding my calories so much, and I'm still eating a lot. But before, when I was just reckless and eating whatever I want, I can only imagine the thousands of calories that I was eating compared to now. And it was such a good point. It's really uncool. It's like there to be so many calories in the good things.

[00:08:03]

No. And it's just like big food.

[00:08:06]

Big food. They're trying to keep us.

[00:08:08]

Doesn't give a rip about you. Actually, they don't like you, and they want you to be unhealthy. It's really crazy to think about. That's why I'm making five ingredient bread. Because we should be able to eat bread.

[00:08:18]

We should be able to eat bread.

[00:08:20]

But it shouldn't be so bad.

[00:08:22]

Better ingredients, better starter, Jacky O's dough.

[00:08:26]

And also, when I do get my sour dough, correct? Which I feel like we're so close. This could be the one, assuming I'm not a dumb bitch. Sometimes it happens.

[00:08:35]

Maybe it's just like turnties influence.

[00:08:36]

Because I'm really wanting to impress you 100%. I'm not too big to admit that. Then I'm going to do my Sourdough redemption blog. And I know I have so many cheering fans. Yeah.

[00:08:46]

No, everyone's been just watching you in awe.

[00:08:50]

And so supportive.

[00:08:51]

So supportive.

[00:08:52]

Thank you guys so much, including you.

[00:08:54]

I mean, it's bread. You weren't ever going to get me not to be excited about food.

[00:08:57]

It's true. And it's healthy bread. Could Do you believe?

[00:09:00]

I know. That's the thing that I'm starting to understand why the sourdough community is as... That's what people say. When they go to Europe and they eat pasta every single day and they come back and their pants are too big on them, how is that possible? Because if you eat pasta every day in America, you come back, your pants They're not going to fit. And it's really all about ingredients. Pasta itself inherently isn't bad. Big pasta, not good.

[00:09:22]

Big pasta.

[00:09:23]

Can you make pasta dough from sourdough?

[00:09:25]

Probably. We can probably make pasta.

[00:09:28]

And you have one of those kitchen aid. You just have to get the attachment for pasta.

[00:09:31]

Yeah, but I'm sure we could also make... There are other kinds of pasta. You can make, like gnocchis rolls or a bow tie where you don't need that. But maybe we'll have to head to William's Sanoma. Perhaps. For the vlog. For the vlog. Homemade pasta.

[00:09:44]

Look, we're still eating in the vlog.

[00:09:45]

No, we're still talking about food.

[00:09:46]

No, seriously, how are you a content creator who makes long-form content, and it's not about food? What else is it about?

[00:09:53]

Well, food is one category, but it's definitely- But even people who are in different categories always do a vlog.

[00:09:58]

Let's go do my taco Bell favorites. Even if you're make up, it's so crazy how food is seriously a huge category across all different types of content creators. Everyone, no matter what their niche is, everyone does food.

[00:10:10]

Because food brings people together.

[00:10:13]

It literally brought me to Florida. It did. Take me to... Oh, and we have so many TikTok ideas. Everyone's been asking us to do the Sister Dictionary. These girls on TikTok, sisters, which I think people just always think of us, which is so sweet. They went viral because they were going through the different words that they use in family that's inside jokes. How would a sister say X? And it makes no sense to us, but it was really cute and funny, very inside jokey. And everyone's been asking us to do it, toaster edition, and I have so many ideas. I'm going to put Jackie to work.

[00:10:41]

Yeah, we're making a lot of content. As I said, this is Hypehouse.

[00:10:45]

Oh, my God. I've been meaning to talk about this. I've been meaning to talk about this. I can't believe I forgot. I went to the Morgan Wallen concert, which I spoke about extensively, and something crazy happened to me there. And I wasn't... I don't know why I didn't share it. Okay, I'm being dramatic. It's not that crazy. And what I learned of the Morgan Wallen show is his audience really isn't typical country. It's very Gen Z. It's very college-age, very frat. So it was like, young folk. Not our target demo, I would say. And let me tell you, I met probably five people who all came up to me and they were like, Oh, my God, I love your TikToks. And they would turn to their friend and be like, Oh, my God, it's the TikTokeer. Referring to me as a TikTokeer.

[00:11:26]

Oh, wow.

[00:11:27]

Yeah. And I just wanted to remark on it. I think there are People always say, Was there a moment in your career where you knew things were taking off? You knew you made it. Yeah. And this, I think, is definitely an inflection point.

[00:11:38]

I'm so happy for you. Yeah. Did it feel as good as you would have hoped?

[00:11:42]

It felt a little stupid. It So it's reducing all that I do to TikTok when it's like, actually, if you only knew what was waiting for you on other platforms, like Spotify or YouTube. So it's funny. They say, be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. And here I am being reduced to 60 seconds silliness.

[00:12:01]

Yeah. It just makes you think. You always want what you don't have.

[00:12:06]

It's true. Now that I have it, I'm like, do I want this?

[00:12:08]

Now you have TikTok Fame. It's not what you thought. Do I want this? So now what fame are you looking for?

[00:12:16]

That's an amazing question. Because I do feel like I used to want it all. Very Sharpey Evans. I want it all.

[00:12:26]

I want it, I want it, I want it.

[00:12:29]

The The Fame and the Fortune It All. I want it all. Still definitely want the fortune. Don't get it twisted. But now I'm feeling really comfortable in the level of celebrity that we are. It used to be like this was a stepping stone for me. But now I feel really at peace with where we're at. I feel like I actually don't want it to go up from here because every time we have a little bit of a bump, it gets a little scarier. The stakes are higher. I see what happens to other people. I'm like, You know what? I'm good. I think I don't want to go down. Yeah. But I don't want to go up either. I feel like it's good. Oh, that's so lovely. Yeah. I feel like maybe that's just a part of maturity, being grateful for what you have. And I think before, I used to think hustle, hustle. And it's like, That's a little toxic. It's okay.

[00:13:12]

Wow. But I think also it's two different things. It's like there's the work element where it's hustle and we want to do our best. But then also the fame that is less enticing than it was. Yeah, it is.

[00:13:25]

Yeah. No, I like our corner of the internet, and I like the size of it. I think it's really It's good. No, but if you did, that's where the toxicity grows, too. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. I feel like we have something really good going on here. I feel like- I think so. Don't tell your friends about the toast. It's good.

[00:13:42]

No, don't tell them. Gatekeep.

[00:13:44]

Yeah. Yeah.

[00:13:46]

Yeah, girl boss, gatekeep.

[00:13:47]

Because things that get gatekept and then get blown up and everybody's obsessed with, the internet then destroys.

[00:13:52]

Yeah. No, I don't think they have to worry about that overnight virality at this point.

[00:13:57]

Yeah, it could be overnight. It's been 10 years.

[00:13:59]

Yeah, it's not And I think that's better.

[00:14:01]

I think there's longevity in the slow build.

[00:14:05]

We're doing at a glance.

[00:14:06]

Oh, fuck. We have a tendency to go at a glance always, but especially when we're together. Now, I want to say something. When was the last time I was here? Was it when I went to St. Bart's? One more time after that.

[00:14:18]

I feel like it was when you went to St. Bart's, because then I came to New York in April. So March, yeah. Then you went to St. Bart's.

[00:14:26]

And I think I remarked on it when I was here. But in case you you aren't aware and you're looking for your Allison Lou clock clip, I can always see it when I'm sitting right here. It's in the corner of your studio under your other chair, and it's such a great clock clip. I wear it every day. And I feel like maybe you've been looking for it.

[00:14:41]

No, I haven't. And you can't see it.

[00:14:42]

No, I haven't.

[00:14:42]

I haven't been looking for it, but one day I'll find it and I'll be grateful. And also sometimes at the end of the show, I do want to put my hair up. So I'll be glad to know that it's there. But that just solves one day of hair up, because I don't want to sit with a ponytail on my wrist. It's hard to be a girl. It's really hard.

[00:14:58]

It is, but wouldn't want to be anybody else. Just feels futile to go into the Fast Five stories when we're together.

[00:15:09]

Yeah, and the Fast Five stories today are seriously so crazy in a way of... I found a new publication of where I'm looking for stories.

[00:15:16]

Are you going to tell us what it is? Are you going to surprise us?

[00:15:18]

Oh, I'll tell you what it is. But I just want to describe the experience that I have there, which is they write up... First of all, they don't categorize things like, I can click all stories, and I just see the stream of everything that's published, not what they think is most popular that I don't care about. So you just see everything, and they just write up everything. Which is helpful. No, it's nice. So I'm picking stories that I wouldn't have seen otherwise because I find them to be just interesting niche and good, not so and so's TikTok. Right. Entertainment Tonight has just been a really great resource.

[00:15:50]

Okay. Shout out Entertainment Tonight.

[00:15:51]

So it's really changing the type of stories. I love that. Yeah, me too.

[00:15:56]

I'm just happy to be together. It's so hot. Romeo's loving it here.

[00:16:00]

Yeah, Romeo and Bruno. So the rivalry, there's definitely a rivalry.

[00:16:03]

Let's talk about that. I feel like Bruno doesn't like Romeo.

[00:16:06]

Well, we knew that was going to happen. Bruno is very- Loyal. Self-centered. It's the reason why I have not gotten another dog, because I don't think Bruno would like that. I think he would dislike it. It's actually really true. However, I feel like when Bruno and Romeo are together, there's a few minutes of play fighting, and then there's harmony. So I think that will translate long term. This trip, there will be Discord, but in the future, there will be harmony. It reminds a lot of Theo and Bruno.

[00:16:31]

Yeah, but Bruno has now taken on the role that Theo once played.

[00:16:34]

I know, but I think also Bruno's hazing Romeo being like, It wasn't easy for me. It's not going to be easy for you.

[00:16:38]

It's true, because when Bruno came into this life, Theo was just the king, and there was nobody else, and there wasn't ever going to be anybody else. And Bruno worked really, really hard to wiggle his way into our hearts. To earn his stripes. It's true. It's true.

[00:16:51]

He's not going to make it that easy for Romeo.

[00:16:53]

So Bro and True, Bro and True.

[00:16:56]

We've called them Bro and Row, and Brew and Roo.

[00:17:00]

Roo and Brew. Roo and Brew. Roo and Brew.

[00:17:04]

So that's exciting. But Bro and Row. And Bruno is a brother, so that works.

[00:17:08]

Brother Brew.

[00:17:09]

Brother Brew.

[00:17:10]

Yeah. Okay. So we have a lot to get to today, What's today? Tuesday?

[00:17:15]

Yeah, just regular old Tuesday. I'm recording Redheads today.

[00:17:19]

Oh my God, what am I supposed to do? Maybe I'll go for a run then.

[00:17:22]

Oh, you're going to work out without me? What about Pickable?

[00:17:23]

We could do Pickable, too.

[00:17:25]

Oh, you're going to get double?

[00:17:26]

Well, I'm on a running program. This is week two of a twelve-week And in the beginning, it's only 25 minutes. So it's not a full.

[00:17:33]

Okay, okay. Cool. So email or questions, redheadsbookclub@gmail. Com. I loved this month's book, and it was my choice. The other girls get really competitive about their book being good and having the best books. And I think because I'm at a glance, and I just want the Redheads to be good. I don't care if it was my book or their book, truly. I know that sounds like I'm better than them. It does. But no, I'm really interested in the group's success. The betterment of- That's to say that they're not.

[00:17:58]

Yeah, you're just jabbing.

[00:18:01]

I don't know why everyone just gets really protective over their choices.

[00:18:05]

In my book club, too. I can tell even when a book is bad, and I do it, too, the person who chose it, it takes a really bad book for them to just be like, Yeah, this was crap. But they fight a little bit to the death just to not have wasted everyone's time. I think that's what it is. I do it, too, because my book, not the Steven Copperhead, but the one before, it stuck. And then we investigated afterwards. It was supposed to be based on a true story, and the guy was lying. There was some drama.

[00:18:29]

So Oh, interesting. So, yeah, I'm proud that this was my book. I feel like usually when it's my book, I'm actually more critical because I'm nervous that people aren't going to like it. But we're actually on a really good territory. Don't say it out loud. Oh, yeah. Except our last book was so bad, but the episode was so funny that it all worked out in the end. That's the thing.

[00:18:46]

It's like, the best books are great, but then Book Club is boring because we're all just sitting around and talking about how much we liked it. A bad book is dreadful to read.

[00:18:52]

And you don't want to talk about it, so then you talk about fun stuff.

[00:18:54]

No, no, no. In our Book Club, when the book is so bad, we all come in angry. And we're all just like, we actually make each other laugh about how bad the book was.

[00:19:01]

You should read the last book that we read then.

[00:19:03]

No, no. Because the actual reading of a bad book is so dreadful. But we read First Lie Wins. Was that? Oh, no, that wasn't for Book Club. We read Happy Place. Oh, my God. Seriously, we all came to the Book Club enraged.

[00:19:14]

And it was funny. Yeah, it's unifying.

[00:19:16]

Nothing brings people together more than hatred.

[00:19:19]

It's true. It's true.

[00:19:20]

Yeah.

[00:19:22]

So now, without further ado, it is time for the Fast Five stories that you need to know.

From the Guarante Co Guarante Cojers.

[00:24:00]

Guarante Cojers.

[00:24:02]

I think that should be the name of the episode.

[00:24:05]

Guarante Cojers, because it's like... That'll definitely keep this show from growing. It's very in the know, you know?

[00:24:13]

I love that.

[00:24:14]

Yeah. Maybe today's episode should be like, Do not listen to this. We're trying to de-escalate. Yeah. We're too big.

[00:24:20]

Too big. Our first story. Gwyneth Paltrow lists her LA home after her son's graduation inside her $30 million mansions. Oh, wow. So a couple of things here. First, Gwyneth Pauetcher is preparing for an empty nest. The actress's youngest son, Moses, graduated from high school, so she put up her LA mansion on the market for $30 million. So one, we're getting pics of Gwyneth's home.

[00:24:43]

No, and the girlies everywhere are quaking. I feel like Gwyneth has long been a leader in design, esthetic, trad. She makes everything from scratch. Oh, she's so trad. And she's a billionaire. So this is inspo, Pinterest. I think has crashed.

[00:25:00]

Yeah. No, the house is beautiful. It's 8,000 square feet, but it's also weird- Where is it? In Brentwood. Brentwood. It's weirdly relatable. Her son graduates from college and she's downsizing. And I feel like sometimes you think you don't need to downsize when you're a billionaire. But it's too A village house for one woman.

[00:25:16]

No. And when you are a billionaire, actually, your job becomes managing your home. And she also has another job, running a billion dollar business, Goop. So I could see this not being something. And I think a lot of people wait till their kids leave because it's sad for the kids.

[00:25:30]

Right. Also, maybe she wants to move by the ocean or something that's too far from the kids' school.

[00:25:35]

Or maybe she wants to move where her kids go to school. I think a lot of celebs move to New York when their kids go to NYU or whatever.

[00:25:41]

Or maybe she wants to leave LA completely. Maybe she wants to move to a farm.

[00:25:45]

I could so. But her group is headquartered there, so I actually don't know if she could.

[00:25:49]

I think she can move her group wherever the heck she wants.

[00:25:52]

I mean, I could see her being one of those companies that moves to Austin.

[00:25:55]

A hundred %.

[00:25:56]

I've been hearing more and more people from LA, specifically moving to Austin. I I just read an article, Glenn Powell's moving to Austin, but he's from Texas.

[00:26:04]

Oh, okay. So that's nice. Yeah, a lot of people, like Californians, move to Texas.

[00:26:09]

New Yorkers move to Florida. It's so true.

[00:26:12]

But I guess technically, you could also move to Texas. I know when we went to Austin. We definitely thought- You were Austin curious.

[00:26:17]

I'm definitely Austin curious. Yeah.

[00:26:20]

It's a nice town. I know. And I like how there's suburbs and city not far from each other.

[00:26:26]

It feels like a hybrid of New York and Florida. Like the life you have the life that I have. You can have both in Austin.

[00:26:31]

Because there are more urban elements.

[00:26:34]

And I just want to say, every time I see someone in person or whatever, or I do a Q&A, they're like, When are you moving to Florida? I'm like, I really have no plans to. But if you said, Let's move to Austin, you have a 75% chance of getting me there. Right now, you have a 10% chance of getting me here.

[00:26:47]

I wouldn't move without you. So 75 doesn't work. No, no. Oh, oh, oh, five. At this point, you- By the way, sorry.

[00:26:54]

If you moved to Austin, there would be a 100% chance of me moving there.

[00:26:58]

At this point, you need to move there and then Don't try and convince me.

[00:27:01]

Yeah, but you're older. You're in charge. Also, keep talking. Something in the light is bothering me. Something in the light? It Department, be right back.

[00:27:08]

What's bothering you? I think we look like the gorgeous girls that we are.

[00:27:13]

Just that.

[00:27:13]

Okay. Well, now even more beautiful. Anyway, so yeah, I wonder where Gwyneth will go. I'm finding it just so normal mom, empty nesting, let's downsize. Okay, I want to say- Get a little beachside cottage.

[00:27:25]

I don't know if you can still watch this episode because it was an episode of the Morning Breath. But the first time I met Gwyneth and I came back and obviously, it was all I could talk about on the toast. That's exactly what I said about her. She gave such... And I was with her, and she was also with her kids. So I saw her as just a mom, and she was making lunch for everyone. She was so normal. She just reminded me of a mom. And I think that's been a theme and why her business is successful, why she's successful. She's broadly relatable, when for so many years, the joke about her was that she wasn't relatable. You know? Yeah. You know, $1,000 candles, that's not like your vagina or whatever. But at At the end of the day, and she is. And when she went on Shark Tank, she said this, too, because somebody came on to talk about like, Grain free. And they were talking about how Grain free is the new gluten free. And she was like, you know what, Gupe? We were talking about gluten free before anyone else, and everybody made fun of us, and now it's the thing.

[00:28:12]

And she really went through a couple of years where everything she did was made fun of. But nine out of 10 things that she was talking about and doing are now commonplace in wellness and just in culture.

[00:28:22]

I feel like I even heard about Wim Hof from her show. What's that? That's cold plunging.

[00:28:26]

Oh, me too.

[00:28:27]

I feel like that episode of her show was the first time I heard And then when we were at the cold ocean, we were like, Let's do it. Gwyneth said. It's good. And now everyone has a cold plunge in their backyard. Oh my God. Yeah. I guess Wim Hof was the first one who said it, but she is part of popularizing things.

[00:28:40]

Yeah. And she goes through a cycle where she gets clowned on for things that end up becoming quite common. Yeah. I love this woman. You can't make me hate her. And I feel like there were a couple of years where they were trying. Now I think everyone has come around to be like, Gwyneth Paltrow is that bitch. Even when she gave her two cents on the neppo baby conversation, I feel like a lot of people liked what she had to say. She just kills it in everything she does.

[00:29:06]

I think it's because she stays true to her authentic self.

[00:29:09]

I know. And I think there were a couple of years where maybe that was challenging, or every time she did, there was backlash. But now the world has come around, and it must feel so good. But I also think she doesn't give a fuck.

[00:29:18]

Yeah. No, because when for so long people didn't understand you and were rude to you, then by the time it happens, like Miley, it's like, Oh, okay, fuck you. But thanks.

[00:29:27]

No, I still Seriously, I'm obsessed with Gwyneth. Yeah.

[00:29:32]

I wonder where she'll move.

[00:29:34]

I feel like I need to start keeping a list of- People that you're obsessed with? Not that I need to know, but when people ask me, Who's your favorite celebrity? I wouldn't say Gwyneth, but she is. Yeah.

[00:29:43]

Who would you say?

[00:29:43]

I don't know. Taylor Swift, Lou Holmes.

[00:29:46]

Yeah.

[00:29:47]

Gwyneth Paltrow. I need to start adding her to my top five, at least. Yeah. Also, the personal friendship I have with her doesn't hurt. Knowing her insides as well as her outsides. I can account telling you, she's even better in person. Like, dead ass. She makes really good food. She made me a taco once.

[00:30:01]

Oh, green-free?

[00:30:03]

I'm not sure, actually. I think it was corn. It's corn-grained. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But actually, I think I remember her having all different types of tortillas, corn flour, because she lives her life, but she knows that other people live life differently.

[00:30:17]

Yeah, that's so nice. It really was. Are you ready for our next story?

[00:30:22]

Yeah.

[00:30:23]

I don't really even know how to preface this, other than I think you'll find it interesting. Okay. The Kelsey Grammer's daughter, Greer Grammer, whom listens to the show, by the way? Hello, Greer. She's joining the Frasher reboot. Cuit. Really cute. So Frasher is reentering the building on Paramount Plus. Season 2 on Paramount Plus, the streaming service announced in February 2022, 24, that the revival series was renewed for a second season, and now Variety is reporting that his real-life daughter, Greer Grammer, is joining the cast in a key role.

[00:30:52]

Okay, well, she's an amazing actress because if you've ever seen the iconic show that I reference here once a year, probably, Awkward, which I need to rewatch. She She played one of the girls in high school who was this ditzy, and everybody loved her, and she was such a good actress, and she's just pretty and Hollywood royalty, so why not? And I love this. This is an amazing example of nepotism. It is. You're literally his daughter, so play it. Life imitating art.

[00:31:16]

And she's also an actress and a good one.

[00:31:18]

Yeah, and I also feel like she doesn't abuse her place in her position. Because if she wanted you, she's Kelsi Grammer's daughter, she could be as big It's like a Maya Hawke. I feel like she actually puts in the work and minds her business and just goes to auditions and stuff. Do you know what I mean?

[00:31:36]

Yeah, but maybe she's done with that and it's like, Dad, put me in the show?

[00:31:39]

She's like, I put in the work. I paid my dues. Dad, make a call.

[00:31:43]

It is time.

[00:31:46]

She's so pretty. I think this is fabulous. I did not know they were doing a Fraser Reboot. Fraser is a part of culture that just went over my head.

[00:31:55]

It's a gap for us. I mean, it's before our time a little bit. It's definitely a hole, and that's a question we would Who's on Jeopardy, unless they ask-Who played Fraser?

[00:32:02]

Who played Frasher? Or like- Who was Frasher married to who was also on reality TV?

[00:32:06]

Who's Frasher's daughter? What show was she on?

[00:32:08]

Yeah, everything I know about Frasher, I really know from the Real Houseize of Beverly Hills.

[00:32:11]

Yeah, and awkward.

[00:32:13]

And awkward. And that's what's so crazy about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. When you think about the fact that Kelsey Grammer was on it, even just for one season, and even though he literally used it as a vehicle to dump his wife on the side of the road. But you know what? It was the greatest thing he could have ever done for her because she was going to be single either way.

[00:32:31]

Yeah.

[00:32:32]

And now she was single and famous. And she still is.

[00:32:35]

Single and famous. Isn't that a show? Famously Single?

[00:32:38]

Famously Single. She also got $30 million, so it's fine.

[00:32:42]

Yeah. It's crazy that they were married. That's what seems crazy in hindsight. Yeah.

[00:32:48]

I think maybe it's time I rewatched Real Hot Spouse of Beverly Hills. I haven't done it. I rewatched New York, and it was seriously one of the best experiences of my life.

[00:32:54]

I think Beverly Hills will be that amazing, too, because you don't have a show that goes on this long without having some really strong solid first seasons.

[00:33:00]

When you think about, seriously, the monumental things that have... Like Russell Armstrong. Yeah. Adrian Malouf. And now, Kelsey Grammer. Pernicious. That first season wasn't real. And when you also think about how many key players are still in the Lisa, Kyle.

[00:33:17]

But also the Kyle, Kim, Cathy.

[00:33:20]

Oh, right. And now knowing Cathy.

[00:33:21]

You still might have them house.

[00:33:22]

I would love to rewatch that. Because they used to talk about Cathy as if she was mysterious. And now we know her. She's the best.

[00:33:30]

Yeah. You should rewatch that.

[00:33:33]

That would be a fun journey. I think I'm right. Okay. And also, and now we've said it. And they were also tackling some really heavy things, those early seasons with Taylor Armstrong. When she admitted that she was being physically abused. And then a couple of episodes later, her husband killed himself, and they went financial ruin. That was really crazy. She didn't get enough credit.

[00:33:53]

Well, now she's on OC sometimes?

[00:33:55]

Yeah. No, she's, I think, a full castmate on OC.

[00:33:57]

Okay. Yeah. Nice. Well, Well, thank you to Entertainment Tonight, Kelsey and Greer, for bringing Real Housewives of Beverly Hills back into turdy's life. Yeah.

[00:34:05]

And perhaps Awkward. Yeah. I would rewatch Awkward in a second. That show was so good.

[00:34:14]

Are you ready Our Next Story, which I chose for You and You Only.

[00:34:17]

Oh my God, a personalized story. How could I not be ready for something like this?

[00:34:21]

Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky marries Haley Joe Jensen.

[00:34:25]

A girl? Yes. Oh, a queer queen? I didn't know that.

[00:34:29]

Nikki Blonsky. Happy pride. Nikki Blonsky is married. The 35-year-old actress best known for her role as Tracy Turnblad in the 2007 perfectly cast movie Hairspray, revealed to Out magazine that she and her partner, Haley Joe Jensen, are officially married. I'm obsessed. The couple who announced their engagement in September 2022 are going public as a couple after going public in June of that year. It loped on October 21st, 2023, so they've been married for a while.

[00:34:52]

I mean, I should have known this as the President of Nikki Blonsky's fan club, but let me just check her Instagram to see if she posted anything. When did they get married?

[00:35:00]

October 2023.

[00:35:02]

No, she's posted nothing.

[00:35:05]

Also, this publication notes that they both use... Oh, and this is confusing.

[00:35:11]

She/her.

[00:35:11]

No, it's She/her. Okay, Nikki's She/her, but Jensen uses They/ Them. But I haven't referenced Jensen yet.

[00:35:17]

Do you want to know what Nikki Blonsky's bio is on Instagram?

[00:35:21]

Good morning, Baltimore.

[00:35:23]

You're so close, actually.

[00:35:26]

Nicest kid in town.

[00:35:28]

Mama, I'm a gay girl. Now, now. Like, obsessed. The thing with Nikki Blonsky, much like Gwyneth Paltrow, they could never make me hate her. They never could. She's so iconic. And the thing is, she knows she's being iconic, too, which makes it even better. I feel like with Gwyneth, it's all so natural. And with Nikki Blonsky, it's all so stage. And I live for everything she's livers. Her social media isn't what it should be. I do want to say that after just giving a quick brief.

[00:35:52]

What would you like to see on there?

[00:35:54]

She doesn't post a lot. And I'm glad it's not all hairspray stuff because I could see that being her her shtick. She's on a new Peacock show. She's in the movie Bosco. An incredible experience. She's a wonderful cast and crew to thank.

[00:36:11]

What about lighting?

[00:36:12]

Special thanks to her incredible leading man. She's on a movie on Peacock, February second. Oh, wait. It came out. She doesn't post a lot.

[00:36:20]

Movie Night Tonight.

[00:36:21]

Movie Night Tonight. The thing is, Nikki Blonsky being cast in Hairspray. Well, I believe it should have been me at the time. I'm I'm actually happy it wasn't.

[00:36:30]

You were 13.

[00:36:32]

Perfect. So it was literally so much Tracy. She's literally a freshman. What was I saying? Well, it should have been me. And I'm so glad it wasn't, actually, because She played it perfectly to a point where it destroyed her career. You could never cast her in anything ever again because she's just Tracy. She's just Tracy.

[00:36:59]

Yeah. It's that iconic of a role. Yeah. But Bosco, I mean, maybe it'll be a departure for her.

[00:37:07]

I mean, it came out a couple of months ago, and we haven't heard anything about it. So I'm glad she's booking gigs, obviously. And she was cast for an open casting call. Is that correct? She was a hairdresser in New Jersey who just went for the role.

[00:37:17]

I think so. I think that's been the tradition of Tracy's. Even when they did Hairspray Live, the girl who played Tracy, I think it was also from an open casting call. I think that's the tradition. I love that. Except I don't know if that's what happened with Ricky Lake.

[00:37:30]

No, but she's the O-G, Tracy.

[00:37:32]

Yeah, but then why did it then become an always going to be an unknown?

[00:37:36]

Because literally, they don't make any fat people famous. Who could they cast?

[00:37:39]

Who can we lift up and support?

[00:37:41]

Right. That's beautiful. Because I'm even trying to think, of the people we know now who are famous, who is a chubby girl who can sing? And who's that age? You can't be older than 25. To do what? To be Tracy. Today? Yeah, right. Who would be cast as Tracy today? Right.

[00:38:00]

My brain isn't... Just like you can't think of Gwyneth Paltrow sometimes, I can't think of every actress under the post.

[00:38:05]

That's why they have to open cast. That's why. Because you can't even think of someone. And we can think of something for everything.

[00:38:10]

I didn't even think yet.

[00:38:11]

Think. I'll give you a couple of seconds.

[00:38:12]

No, but now the pressure's on. But sure. I like an open casting.

[00:38:17]

So do I. Give someone who's not related to Kelsey Grammer a chance.

[00:38:20]

Yeah, but Greer Grammer for Amber Von Tussle?

[00:38:23]

Honestly. But the thing is, I don't want to go down this role of recasting Hairspray in a mock because it's perfect the way it is. And we've said that.

[00:38:29]

Even Hairspray Live was a perfect casting.

[00:38:34]

Sorry, I almost just fell over. Yeah, I don't know if I saw Hairspray Live.

[00:38:39]

It was a cluster fuck, and honestly, a little bit of a fail.

[00:38:43]

I do miss the days where a consistent story here on the toast was what they were producing next to- Annie Live? What they were doing next for Live. Who was being cast?

[00:38:51]

Take me back to Annie Live. When people ask me, What were the greatest days of your life? It was the days leading up and months to Annie Live.

[00:38:57]

I literally don't disagree.

[00:38:59]

And then Annie Live itself was incredible. And they could never make me hate Annie Live.

[00:39:05]

No, it was amazing. And you know what? I don't want to jinks it because then someone- And the thing is you had to watch it live to appreciate how good it is because if you watch it on demand, you're like, Oh, there's this...

[00:39:14]

But it's the magic of live.

[00:39:16]

Right. And then the way they really had that dog working over time. It was really incredible. And I don't want to jinks it because it's possible.

[00:39:24]

And they even did the ads live in the way of old radio. It was perfect.

[00:39:28]

I don't think there's been a remake of Annie that has been bad.

[00:39:33]

I agree.

[00:39:34]

The Quavenga de Wallace, Jamie Fox. One was so good. So good. Was so good. And then, of course, the Annie we grew up with. And then Kathy Bates.

[00:39:40]

There's two Annie's we grew up. The first one, that's the old one. But then there was a They make Victor Garber. Which was incredible. They added some new songs, too. Let's go to the Movies.

[00:39:50]

Oh, my God. That was a new song?

[00:39:51]

I'm pretty sure.

[00:39:52]

They've never fucked up Annie. It's actually crazy.

[00:39:55]

It's a perfect story.

[00:39:56]

It's a perfect story. It's a story that just tells itself.

[00:39:59]

Yeah.

[00:39:59]

And the characters are so classic. I just feel like they always do a good job.

[00:40:05]

Yeah, like Ms. Hanigan.

[00:40:05]

What would you do live next?

[00:40:08]

Oh, what a fun question. I have to think of everything.

[00:40:13]

Because we've done Peter Pan.

[00:40:15]

Of course, my mind goes to Greatest Showman.

[00:40:18]

That's a more modern musical.

[00:40:19]

Might be hard with the Elephant.

[00:40:21]

Well, they just did the Beauty and the Beast one live with her. Was that live? Yeah.

[00:40:26]

Was it?

[00:40:27]

Yes.

[00:40:28]

Yeah. Oh, I forgot about that one.

[00:40:29]

And she We watched that.

[00:40:31]

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:40:32]

Josh Groban, right? Yeah. That one was good.

[00:40:35]

That was good. But it came and went.

[00:40:37]

That one didn't have as much fanfare. Yeah. It wasn't, I don't know why, as big of a story.

[00:40:41]

Of course, Grease Live was amazing. Oh, and they did Rent Live. But that was like- There was drama there. Someone broke his leg, and it just... I think they wound up even maybe showing the rehearsal or something.

[00:40:52]

Yes, yes. No, the Grease Live was really crazy. Vanessa Hudgens' father passing away the day before and her still showing up.

[00:40:59]

But Grease Live was perfection like Annie. Yeah. They did The Whiz Live. Yeah.

[00:41:04]

Peter Pan with Allison Williams. That was really crazy. That was really crazy.

[00:41:08]

Sound of Music Live with Carrie Underwood.

[00:41:10]

Those were the days. Take me back.

[00:41:12]

Yeah. No, what's our next one? What's our next one? I'm ready.

[00:41:18]

Well, it's been remade recently, but like, Lion King Live, Northwest Asimba, Trigger Nation.

[00:41:24]

It was remade recently. Yeah, I love it.

[00:41:29]

I feel like, did they do the Little Mermade Live?

[00:41:31]

No, they just remade it live-action. But that's hard because it's under the sea. I don't need to see a fake water.

[00:41:38]

It's giving community theater if they did it live.

[00:41:40]

Yeah. Where are some great musicals? They should do high school musical live.

[00:41:46]

That's what they should do. On ABC, because it's... By the way, that's an incredible idea. Yeah. Okay, who are we casting? Vanessa Hudgens is Olivia Rodrigo. I was going to say the same thing. She would never. And Zac Efron. She would never. Zac Efron. Who's a modern Zac... Noah Centenario.

[00:42:01]

You know what else they could do live, maybe? What? Frozen. But it's again, with the snow, it's a little hard. No, I don't like it. She doesn't like it. Moana?

[00:42:10]

Hard with the Ocean.

[00:42:11]

Hard with the Ocean. Diorvan Hansen. It's a little suppressing. I agree. Greatest showman.

[00:42:19]

When in doubt, Greatest showman.

[00:42:22]

Yeah. Footloose. Not a musical, is it? They don't break down. No, it's not. They just dance. They just dance, yeah.

[00:42:27]

Footloose is so good.

[00:42:28]

Yeah, it is. Okay, so just some ideas. I'm ready for my next live, I was to say.

[00:42:33]

Yeah, I was to say powers that be, we're ready.

[00:42:35]

I guess we get lives at Christmas time.

[00:42:37]

Yes, Annie was in December because I remember I was on the Not Like Other Girls tour, literally devastated that I was doing a show not at home watching Annie.

[00:42:43]

And I think this past year was Beauty and the Beast.

[00:42:46]

Yeah, I think you're right. Okay. Another thing to look forward to this holiday season. Can't wait. We're low-key getting close, not to be that girl. Yeah. But we've entered this latter half of the year.

[00:42:55]

By the end of this month, I think. Because Because we're in the sixth of the month. Yeah.

[00:43:01]

Okay, shit. You're right. Yeah.

[00:43:02]

Yeah. But I'm really happy that I'm excited about summer. It's a good feeling. I feel like sometimes I dread summer, but I'm excited for summer. And then after summer, it's like football, chilly. Oh, my God. Rolling into the holidays. I'm really excited. Yeah. So are you ready for our next story? Number 4?

[00:43:17]

No.

[00:43:18]

You're not ready. No.

[00:43:19]

She didn't look ready. Oh, shit. You called me... You're literally sabotaging me.

[00:43:22]

I'm so sorry.

[00:43:24]

The latter half of the show is brought to you by Quince.

[00:43:26]

Much like the latter half of the year.

[00:43:27]

Whenever we're gearing up for our next trip, deciding to pack is so stressful. The clothes we have, this is just in general, either just stopped fitting, don't work for the season. I'm never matched up with my closet. But then we discovered Quince. It's our go-to for high-quality vacation essentials that we'll be packing for all of our trips to come. They've got premium European linen dresses, blouses and shorts, seamless from $30. $30 seamless? Who doesn't love that? They've got washable silk tops, premium luggage options, and so much more. But the best part about Quince and shopping at Quince, which really sets it apart, is all of their items are priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands. So they're made really well, but they're priced completely differently. And how they do that is by partnering with top factories directly. They're cutting out the cost of the middleman, and then they are passing those savings onto the customers. Quince also only works with factories that use safe, ethical, and responsible manufacturing practices and premium fabrics and finishes. As Jackie Goldschneider would say, they only use top quality fabric. And we love that. We also love that we're saving money.

[00:44:26]

And we also love that, like we said, a theme of the last year, and Jackie was just talking about this, is investing in less pieces but better pieces. And Quince is the perfect place. I've got so many great basics from there, just good trousers, black trousers, nice cashmere sweaters that I can wear differently. And you won't know that I'm wearing the same sweater because it's, what do they call it? A capsule collection wardrobe. So pack your bags with high-quality essentials from Quince. Go to quince. Com/toast for free shipping on your order and 365-day returns. That's quince. Com/toast to get free shipping and 365-day returns. Quince. Com/toast. Today's episode is also brought to you by Armra. [00:48:01]

Our next story is so crazy and seriously gives me the willies, and I don't know if you've heard it yet because I only heard it from entertainment tonight.

[00:48:06]

The Willies, okay.

[00:48:07]

The willies. Taylor Momson. Taylor Momson, you all know. Jenny from Gossip Girl, Cindy Louhu from The Grinch. Taylor Momson needs raby shots for two weeks after a bat bites her leg while performing on stage in Spain.

[00:48:22]

The whole thing is caught on camera.

[00:48:23]

So Taylor Momson posted a video to her Instagram of her concert in Spain. She said, so rock and roll moment in Sevilla Wednesday during Which is Burn, of all songs. That's really crazy. A bat flew onto me and clung to my leg in the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing. He was cute, but yes, he bit me. So raby shots for the next two weeks. Thanks to all the staff at the hospital who dubbed me Batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning. Also, it's worth mentioning that she's wearing, it looks to be some tights and a lace dress. So he's at the end of her dress. I could I imagine not feeling the bat.

[00:49:02]

Oh, yeah. And also you're on stage. There's adrenaline.

[00:49:04]

There's a lot of things going on. Oh my God, Claudia, I can't even look at this.

[00:49:07]

By the way, are bats just flying around? I don't know why I thought they existed in medieval times.

[00:49:12]

I don't know. And also in the I didn't know they go on stage, that they like music, they go to concerts.

[00:49:19]

It's really crazy. And seriously, if you watch a video, it's amazing how calm she remained. If that were me and everybody's pointing at something and I look down. When there's even a mosquito, I'm screaming.

[00:49:29]

When it's When it's a stain.

[00:49:31]

When it's literally like one of my own hair. I know that about you. When my own hair is like, brushes up against my shoulder. Seriously, she's so calm and collected. It's impressive. This is seriously the stuff of Nightmare. And I'm saying seriously a lot. I'm hearing it now.

[00:49:44]

Because it's very Very, very serious. I've never even thought about bats or been fearful or concerned about them. But this image, and I didn't even watch the whole video, I just see a still image of a bat on her lace dress. I'm not okay.

[00:49:58]

Stories like this are devastating for a multitude of reasons, but primarily because it just gives us one more thing to worry about. I didn't know that bats were something I had to be thinking about at all. No. There's so much going on in my life. Right. And now there's more.

[00:50:13]

Yeah. Also, it was during her song, witches burn. And bats and witches, they're of the same... Yeah, no.

[00:50:20]

And I just feel like it's very Carl Gengebia coded. And this is why I don't play around with dark magic. No.

[00:50:27]

I can't believe it bit her, and now she has rabies shots for it. This is a crazy story.

[00:50:31]

And why did I think rabies? I don't associate rabies and bats. What animal do you associate rabies with?

[00:50:42]

A lot of them.

[00:50:43]

What's classic rabies? Do you know what I mean?

[00:50:45]

Like a rat? A mouse? A squirrel?

[00:50:50]

I was thinking squirrel. Yeah. Why do I associate rabies and squirrels?

[00:50:54]

I think just because squirrels are more ubiquitous. Yeah, and I want to say- We see squirrels every day.

[00:50:59]

I saw a squirrel I was this morning walking around your neighborhood because I was taking Romeo for a walk. And it got me thinking about squirrels. I feel like growing up, they got such a bad rap. You think? Yeah, I just feel like because we're always around in the schoolyards. I feel like they're good kids.

[00:51:11]

They are.

[00:51:12]

I feel like they're harmless. They're so afraid of us. I actually feel bad for them.

[00:51:15]

Yeah, they make me laugh. They're always messing with Brew. They run into the trees and he hears them, so he goes, and then they run. He's always playing with squirrels.

[00:51:22]

And chipmunks? What could be cuter?

[00:51:24]

Yeah. But I guess you do have to worry about the rabies.

[00:51:27]

Right. I guess that's why. I feel like there was a smear your campaign against squirrels in the early 2000s. That really, it worked on me because I was always just like, Stay away, stay away. You know, rabies.

[00:51:37]

Yeah. But also bats can carry other diseases. Remember when people were saying that's how COVID started. Yeah.

[00:51:42]

I don't know where we landed on that. That wasn't That wasn't true or not.

[00:51:45]

No, that wasn't true. But diseases can come from bats, which is why, initially, it sounded like plausible.

[00:51:51]

Right, right. Bird flu.

[00:51:55]

Batman. What about him?

[00:51:58]

He was bitten by a bat, no? Oh, was he? I know Spider-Man was bitten by a spider, but I never saw a batbam.

[00:52:03]

Cass Taylor-Momson in Batgirl for Her Troubles. That's the moral of the story today. Seriously, I have the willies. Willies. Do you not? I do.

[00:52:15]

I saw it a couple of days ago, so I've sat with it for a while.

[00:52:19]

Okay.

[00:52:20]

I look forward to it. And by the way, she looks the same. She's literally giving Jenny Humphrey in that video.

[00:52:24]

Oh, of course. She's still doing her Jenny Humphrey thing.

[00:52:26]

Yeah, just emo and slouched over with her sidebangs. Yeah.

[00:52:30]

So Ra'Fu Shalema.

[00:52:32]

To everyone involved.

[00:52:34]

Are you ready for our fifth and final story? Yeah. Which is a little beverage news, a little crazy beverage news, . Cbn? Cbn, . So.

[00:52:44]

Okay.

[00:52:45]

Pepsi's reign as America's number two soda is over. The underdog has overtaken it. You're lying. So Pepsi very nearly won its bitter battle to take over Coca-Cola as America's number one soda in the '80s, but now it has slipped behind Dr. Pepper, which is now in the second spot.

[00:53:00]

I thought you were going to say they took over for number one.

[00:53:02]

No, now they've slipped to three. Oh, shit. Dr. Pepper is number two. Oh, shit.

[00:53:07]

Okay, I mean, I'm such a Pepsi enthusiast. And you guys know, Diet Coke is my personality. But if you were to come up to me and have one can of each, I would choose Diet Pepsi. I actually think it tastes better. But branding-wise, they haven't gotten there yet. Same Diet Pepsi doesn't roll off the tongue.

[00:53:20]

And I think that meme did a lot of damage. Is Pepsi okay? No. It's not.

[00:53:25]

It's actually not.

[00:53:26]

But it is.

[00:53:27]

It is, right.

[00:53:28]

But that meme.

[00:53:29]

Yeah. And so while I think that that has been really damaging, I also think there's been a movement online for Dr. Pepper, too. Those two things, that's really shocking, though. Because Dr. Pepper is The thing is, the way people treat Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke is like a replacement for water. Dr. Pepper has always been like a specialty beverage.

[00:53:52]

Like a flavored one. What's it flavored with? Like the cherry? Like the cherry, yeah.

[00:53:55]

So it's always been like a specialty item. But more and more people, it's become people's go-to. Instead of a water, I'll get a Dr. Pepper. It's taking the place, yeah, of Diet Pepsi.

[00:54:04]

And for me, in my heart, when I have a fridge full of soda, number one is Diet Coke, number two is Dr. Pepper, and number three would be Pepsi.

[00:54:13]

Now, am I correct in thinking that PepsiCo actually owns Dr. Pepper, so Rising Tides, Rise All Shides.

[00:54:19]

Oh, Rising Tides definitely Rise All Shides.

[00:54:23]

Because PepsiCo, say what you want about them, they literally own everything. They own TACO Bell. Frito Le. Frito Le. I would say I wonder as a company... I'm not talking about the beverage. Okay, like grandma with the loud- Keurig Dr.

[00:54:36]

Pepper. Keurig owns Dr.

[00:54:39]

Pepper. So it's not PepsiCo? No.

[00:54:42]

Good for them. The Keurig machine Sorry to Keurig Nespresso's here.

[00:54:47]

So PepsiCo worth. What is PepsiCo worth? $238 billion. Let's see what Coca-Cola is worth.

[00:54:57]

Probably similar.

[00:54:59]

What did I before?

[00:55:00]

238.

[00:55:01]

273.

[00:55:02]

I feel like this is a movie, Jarrett Seinfeld will make in 50 years.

[00:55:05]

Yeah.

[00:55:06]

About the Soda Wars.

[00:55:09]

I would actually love a movie about the Soda Wars.

[00:55:12]

Not the Soda Wars?

[00:55:13]

The Rural Jure first, and then the sequel, The Soda Wars. Yeah, that'd be a good movie. How did these two get started?

[00:55:21]

Yeah. And at the same time, they do a very similar thing. That's classic. It's Snow White.

[00:55:27]

It's Snow White. I bet there was somebody in the '50s who had a list. Why is there Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi?

[00:55:34]

It's like me reincarnated.

[00:55:36]

Literally. She changes over time, but her lists remain the same. Yeah. But you were taking out a quill pen.

[00:55:42]

Oh, of course. The medium is different. The message, the same. The same.

[00:55:47]

I love that. Yeah. That is a crazy story. Thank you so much for sharing. But seriously, the more I think about it, Dr. Pepper has a really good online presence in terms of just its place and culture. And I think, of course, hiring Justin Guarini really put them over the edge because it's the sweet one. A lot of people don't know that little man from the commercial is Justin Guarini from American Idol and from Justin DeKelly.

[00:56:07]

It's the sweet one. I think Pepsi needs to get Brittany back in the studio. The joy of Pepsi or Addison.

[00:56:15]

I have to imagine, actually, Pepsi has definitely come to Brittany. Because they really lean into their history.

[00:56:23]

I actually don't think they should go to Brittany because I think- It wouldn't be the same. No. And it would be like, Oh, we'll never be better than that moment. I I think they need to recreate that moment with Tate McCree.

[00:56:33]

I was going to say Tate McCree. Who do you think is the rising pop it girl? Pop. Not Olivia Rodrigo. She's not... She is pop, but I mean, '90s core.

[00:56:45]

I know who it is for me.

[00:56:48]

Mimi Webb? Yeah. But in America.

[00:56:50]

Probably Tate McCree. That's what people are saying. And she just was interviewed by Brittany for a magazine. Right.

[00:56:55]

That was a big deal for Tate.

[00:56:57]

And it could have been Addison, but she set the crown down and walked away. She did. It was Addison's choice to not be the next Brittany. Not anyone else's.

[00:57:05]

Wasn't Diendra's, and it wasn't Sophie's. It was Addison's choice.

[00:57:08]

And we were ready for her.

[00:57:09]

Yeah, we were.

[00:57:10]

But she didn't want it. Queen.

[00:57:14]

My nails to die for. There's sex to die for. I want something to die for.

[00:57:22]

And Sabrina has a new album coming out, but Sabrina doesn't dance hard. That's not her thing. She struts.

[00:57:29]

Yeah, she does a choreography Criography, Minimally, which is so classic girly. But yes, she announced a new album yesterday called Short and Sweet, which we love because she's 4 feet tall. And I think it's really promising. That's something I'm really looking forward to. When does it come out?

[00:57:43]

August, 12.

[00:57:45]

Shit. She's missing out on it being the album of the summer. For sure.

[00:57:48]

But Espresso, I think, is the song of the summer, and I think it will be nominated for a Grammy.

[00:57:52]

Yeah. I can't say it enough times. I feel like I say it once a week on the show. I'm so happy for her success. After everything she went through with Olivia Rodriguez's Gate, and then her rebuttal song, Flopping. I'm so glad.

[00:58:06]

Skin never flops for me. I just want you guys to know. And definitely stream Skin because you missed out. Yeah, you did. I did. I never skim on Skin. She never skims. She never skims. And you'll only get that if you listen to the ads. Don't skip through. It's true. Don't skim on our ads.

[00:58:20]

So many inside jokes you might be missing out on if you're skipping out on our ads and not supporting our sponsor. If you're skimming. That's our show, you guys. I'm about to put Jackie to work. I have so many ideas for TikToks to make. Trips to the Cape.

[00:58:30]

Can't wait. As long as I'm wearing makeup, I'll do whatever you need me to do.

[00:58:34]
