Good morning, millennials.

[00:00:04]

Welcome back to The Toast, and happy Tuesday. And speaking of choose, speaking of juice.

[00:00:13]

Speaking of bruise. Speaking of bruise news. Bruise news. That Brew is here? He wants to work today, he said. He said he wants to put a little pizazz on the show. I said, Bruno, any time you have something to say, you are most welcome to join It's a gorgeous day for Brunello to be here.

[00:00:33]

It's a gorgeous day for you to be here. It's a gorgeous day for me to be here. We've got business to attend to.

[00:00:41]

Per usual. However, what business do you refer to? The toast. Oh, okay. It sounded like yesterday, you could say, We have business.

[00:00:52]

No, I have some things I'd like to discuss. I imagine we'll be talking about Travis Kelsey's most recent podcast interview, which is just making waves in the podcasting universe. Yes. I'm all caught up on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Let me tell you, it's explosive. Let me tell you, everyone wants to know, Claudia, what are your thoughts on the... It got violent. That's where I draw the line with Housewives. It's just It's really not necessary. And of course, everybody's dissecting it, who instigated, who provoked, whatever. For me, I'm so stuck on Jackie Goldstein. I can't. I'll give my thoughts. Sorry, I'm team Danielle, and I feel like that's not popular. Jen Aiden put her hands on Danielle first. Yes, Danielle was being nutty and getting in her face. Jen Aiden put her hands on Danielle first.

[00:01:38]

I'll watch it for myself to see, but I just want to say I'm always against violence, period. Violence is not the answer. But I do feel like sometimes we're a little subjective. When Marge pushed... What was that guy's name?

[00:01:52]

Your husband's in the pool.

[00:01:53]

Your husband's in the pool.

[00:01:55]

Marty, I think his name was.

[00:01:56]

Okay, that's what I was going to say, too, so I think it's right. I was not against it. Oh, that's funny.

[00:02:01]

I wouldn't consider that violence.

[00:02:03]

It's putting your hands on someone in a forceful manner.

[00:02:07]

I think compared to what happened on Real House House in New Jersey this week, where Danielle literally took a glass and smashed it upside Jen Aiden's head after Jen Aiden pushed her. No, your husband's in the pool is very different.

[00:02:23]

I'm just saying. But typically, when Theresa pulled the hair or told Danielle to pull the hair, and Monique and Candice, no.

[00:02:31]

Yeah. There's a lot of dynamics that play in the Real House House in New Jersey. The obvious one is the one with the violence. But for me, I think it's so much more interesting what's going on with Jackie Goldschneider. It should seriously be studied for loser- You should study it. I am. It's the loseriest thing that's really maybe ever occurred. She's so transparent. It's really crazy. I'm I'm actually really enjoying the season. I do believe them when they say that the end of the season gets so explosive. I think there's this major blow up at the final party where they all can't be in the same room. I think it has nothing to do with Theresa and Melissa, which is crazy enough. They just don't speak. They're just co-existing, two ships passing in the night.

[00:03:17]

Yeah, I agree.

[00:03:21]

That's what I did yesterday, in addition to shopping for Luke's for our live show. Yeah, that's right. Jack and I are playing two. Sold out shows this week at the Beacon Theater, and I had nothing to wear. Casual. I had done shop up. I did everything, and I was left with nothing. I was left with one dress that was meh. So I said, Yesterday, okay, I'll go to Saks. I'll go, I'll go. And I went without a bra, and I can't really tell you why I did that. I wasn't wearing a bra in my outfit to the toast because I was wearing this unitard that holds you in. And I went home and I was like, Should I get a bra? And I didn't. And when I tell you, it ruined the entire experience.

[00:04:01]

I didn't realize. I thought maybe you just didn't have the right bra with you, which would have been a strapless because everything you were showing, you're like, imagine it with a bra or whatever. And you went there intentionally to shop for dresses. You should have also brought shapewear and heels and had your hair and makeup done. So the fact that you couldn't even muster up a bra, you're not a serious shopper.

[00:04:19]

No. And I hit an actual low point in one of the dressing rooms. It was almost 90 degrees yesterday. I was so hot. I was so disheartened, and I was so tired. I hadn't had a really discouraging shopping day like that in a while. I was probably due for one. I just was so hot, so Ms. I was almost going to give up. I was just taking pictures in these dresses and just trying to do mental gymnastics to make them work. On my way out, I was resurrected. I was saved, if you will. Two words, Laquan Smith.

[00:04:56]

Which dress was that?

[00:04:57]

Both. The two that I got. I love Laquan Smith, sir. I am a huge fan of your work. Saving me in my time of need. I will forever be endeared to Laquan himself.

[00:05:12]

That's exciting. I got a big delivery yesterday with options, and I think half of them worked. So I'm in a pretty good spot.

[00:05:20]

We are covered for the first week of shows.

[00:05:23]

Oh, yeah. But I'm trying to cover myself for most of the summer, and I probably will get one or two more dresses, but I have backup dresses. And it's like, I'm not the I'm most excited to wear these, but if I had to, it would be fine.

[00:05:32]

Yeah. So just don't come looking for us when it comes to fashion looks, because we are... Now, I can say this confidently, we're going to be stunting on these toes at the Beacon Theater this week. You can wear whatever you want to our show. I've been seeing a lot of people asking that, Should I wear my Toast Merch? Should I get dressed up? Do whatever you want. Just know we are going to be slaying the house down boots.

[00:05:54]

Yeah. I mean, it's a big occasion. We have to dress for the occasion.

[00:05:59]

We do. But you can wear your Toast Merch comfortably, and I think a lot of people will be.

[00:06:02]

It's a girly swirly night out, open to interpretation.

[00:06:05]

The dress code is up to interpretation.

[00:06:08]

As long as you're wearing Toast Merch, you can't just come in sweats that's not merch.

[00:06:13]

But if you want to be- You certainly can't come in somebody else's merch.

[00:06:15]

If you want to be cozy, it's Toast merch, or we're dressing to the nines. There is no in between.

[00:06:21]

So after this episode comes out, once you guys are listening to this, it's all beginning. Our swirly summer is here.

[00:06:30]

We're kicking off. Yeah, well, we'll be in studio tomorrow, too.

[00:06:33]

No, but we will be in studio. The Toast as You Know It this year is about to change.

[00:06:39]

Yes, Swirly Summer commences tomorrow. So this, I guess, is the last day of non-Swirly Summer.

[00:06:45]

Right.

[00:06:46]

Let's acknowledge that. Acknowledge the space. You know what? It's been pretty swirly, not going to lie.

[00:06:51]

The thing is, the swirly vibes just radiate throughout, even when we're not even trying.

[00:06:55]

Someone said something interestingly recently, which I 100 % agree with. Swirly is the new Steenie.

[00:07:03]

Yes.

[00:07:03]

Yes. Like a descriptor for things that are very us.

[00:07:08]

That are Steanie.

[00:07:09]

They are swirly. I like that. Me too. It feels right. After six years of doing the show, for the word to evolve, I'm here for it.

[00:07:17]

Steenie went through a rebrand.

[00:07:19]

Yeah, we just said it less and less, not for any reason. And now we're the Swirls. We used to be the Steens. I love that. And if you met someone who had to see energy, they had Steenie vibes. Now you can tell they're a swirly.

[00:07:32]

They have swirly energy. Another thing I did last night was I watched some of the Olympic trials. Loved seeing people's dreams come true. There were a couple of people whose dreams didn't come true, which is not the best, most exciting thing to watch. But I have officially started my Olympic era because like I said, it's swirly girl summer. A huge part of my life this summer is going to be the Olympics.

[00:07:56]

And part of being a swirly is being very patriotic. And I feel like the Olympics are a great way to flex your patriotism.

[00:08:04]

Swirlies are patriots. A thousand %. Speaking of Olympics, are you seeing all the drama with the duty river?

[00:08:12]

No.

[00:08:13]

So in Paris, they have this river called the Seine. The Seine?

[00:08:16]

The Seine?

[00:08:16]

The Seine. Yeah, whatever.

[00:08:18]

The Seine?

[00:08:18]

The Seine? The Sheen. The Sheen. And it's their equivalent of the East River. It's disgusting. People throw trash in there. Nobody swims in it. It's like, brown. You can't even see through the water.

[00:08:30]

But do you know the East River... Is the Seine a natural body of water?

[00:08:35]

Or is it manmade? Or is it just like a... Yeah, I don't know.

[00:08:37]

Like the Erie Canal.

[00:08:38]

The East River connects to the Atlantic Ocean.

[00:08:39]

The East River is a real thing. That's why the pioneers really liked New York, because it was surrounded by water. I didn't really know that until I watched Ken Burns' New York documentary, and I was like, Oh, the East River is real.

[00:08:52]

Yeah, it's like a legitimate port of entry for a lot of people and a lot of things.

[00:08:56]

It's a real God made body of water.

[00:09:02]

I don't know if the sen connects to anything, but it is going to be the body of water that they use for a lot of water sports in the Olympics. They're really excited about it. People were like, Excusez-moi, you can't have these boats and swimmers just in this duty water. That's not safe. The Olympic Committee was like, No, don't worry. After years, we're cleaning up the sen. It's going to be this whole initiative. The Olympics are upon us, and people are looking at the sen, and it looks exactly the same And the Olympic Committee is basically saying, No, no, trust us, we cleaned it. I think it's literally, it was like today or yesterday. They're like, July 25th, we're actually going to have members of the Olympic Committee drink the water on camera to prove that it's okay. So all these people. In Paris. Oh, by the way, it is a natural body of water because all these people all around the country have started to plot to take a shit in the Seine. And they're like, well, and you can go on this website, and depending on where you live, they'll I'll tell you what time to take a shit so that it'll arrive at the Seine by...

[00:10:04]

Because they don't believe that it's been cleaned properly, and they don't want the Olympians to be forced to get in that water.

[00:10:10]

Even if it's been cleaned properly, you're now defacing it. I don't know how I feel about that. I love holding them accountable because, no, you can't swim in a duty river or row, and people shouldn't have to do stuff there. And also just clean up your rivers. But actively making them Gross. Kind of counteracts the original point.

[00:10:33]

Yeah, I believe it's a form of protest that I personally don't understand.

[00:10:37]

No, I understand it, but I just think it's gone too far where it's like you're actually doing the thing that your protest I'm suggesting against. I just saw something else that was like that. Some environmentalists were doing something like in- To King Charles' portrait? No, no, no. In homage to the environment, they're trying to save the... Oh, they were spray painting Stonehenge.

[00:11:00]

Disgraceful.

[00:11:01]

Like, thousands-year-old. That's a piece of nature, and you're defacing it in the name of- Nature? You lost the plot, my friend.

[00:11:13]

Totally. I saw that, too. So that's just what's going on in Paris.

[00:11:18]

Okay, well, good luck to the River Seine.

[00:11:20]

Sorry. That's what's going on in Paris, asterisk, turdies least favorite city.

[00:11:25]

Or asterisk, that's what's going on in Paris, asterisk, turdies edition.

[00:11:31]

Yeah.

[00:11:33]

Also, speaking of sports, Stanley Cup last night, game seven, they made it all the way to game seven. I'm telling you guys, it's just about the advertisers. Because the Panthers had won the first three games. Then on the fourth game, it was like, Will there even be a fifth game? That's what I had tickets to. It was very nerve-wracking. But thankfully, they lost the fourth game. I knew they would because the advertisers are not going to miss... They're not going to give it up in four games when they could have seven games. They took this thing all the way. Three Three games to the Panthers, three games to the Oilers. Last night, game seven here, and the Panthers won. And I actually really do believe that the other games were staged because what I saw at game five was terrible hockey. And that is not a Stanley Cup winning team. So I didn't watch the game last night. The tech was giving me updates, but I imagine they played beautiful hockey because they were in it to win it.

[00:12:21]

So what you're saying is Florida. That's what you're saying?

[00:12:27]

One hell of a drug. Yeah, and I'm feeling Florida Proud. Go cats, baby.

[00:12:33]

Cats? I thought it was the Panthers.

[00:12:35]

It is, but a panther is a type of cat. So colloquially, we say, Go cats.

[00:12:38]

We say, Go cats. Okay. I'm happy for you. Nothing like Florida Pride, you know?

[00:12:45]

It's major. It's Stanley Cup. Move to Florida, win the Stanley Cup. You know what's funny? When I listen to TTD, which is often, I start on Tortured Poets Department song. I skip Fortnite every time.

[00:13:03]

Why?

[00:13:03]

Adalak, Fortnite.

[00:13:06]

Oh, well, I'm currently having a renaissance with the latter half of the album, very much in my Peter the Bolter Robin era. So that's just where I start. I scroll down about halfway and start there. But also, I'm loving a Shuffle moment.

[00:13:20]

Oh, you've reached the age of Shuffle? I still need to listen to the album the way tailored intended because I haven't absorbed everything yet. You I haven't graduated to be able to just enjoy the songs passively. I'm still in the education phase.

[00:13:34]

I know we are going to be talking about Travis, Kelsey on that podcast. Is that our only tailored story?

[00:13:39]

Yeah.

[00:13:40]

Okay. I think that's right. I think that feels right.

[00:13:42]

We'll just say any tailored happenings from the past 24 hours, feel free to shove them in there.

[00:13:47]

Yeah. I just wanted to make sure, and I wanted to prepare everyone because there are people, like crazily, who don't want to talk about this. Not a lot, but I want them to know. There are four other stories.

[00:13:55]

Yeah. No, but that was major news, Travis on the podcast.

[00:14:00]

Yeah, I enjoyed that immensely.

[00:14:04]

What's that song? I'm so glad my Travis made it to the big game.

[00:14:11]

One step closer to Kelsey B. In my last name.

[00:14:16]

Can it be played by Rock turdy?

[00:14:19]

It didn't mind up, hey, don't want to hurt me.

[00:14:21]

So good. I love that song. I need you to send me that song.

[00:14:24]

I will. I'll download the TikTok and send it to you.

[00:14:26]

No, but I want the MP3 file.

[00:14:28]

Oh, I don't I don't have that. I'm sure you can find it on YouTube.

[00:14:32]

I also need to lodge a complaint against AI.

[00:14:37]

Okay.

[00:14:37]

A number of times, I am just using AI to my gain now. Sure, it'll ruin civilization, but let me have a good time along the way.

[00:14:46]

If you can't beat them.

[00:14:48]

Here's my question, because a number of times I've wanted to use AI for just small things. I wanted to post a cute picture of my outfit, but my bathroom was really messy. I want to be like, AI, clean my bathroom.

[00:14:58]

I know what you're about to say.

[00:14:59]

I go to ChatGPT ChatGPT, which is always my first step because it's the one that I made an account with. The last few requests I made of ChatGPT, they're like, We don't have the capability. Now, do I need to upgrade? Just let me know, do I need to pay more? Because I will. I don't want to subscribe to a million different places. Then there was another AI request that I had that ChatGPT could also not fulfill. I wound up when I was making the mockups for Strandberries so that Ben could see my vision.

[00:15:23]

Are most of the issues that you're having with ChatGPT, like image-related? Yes. I do believe there are certain programs that are more image-focused. I think ChatGPT is very knowledge-focused. I think also the basic subscription I'm on is pretty much text.

[00:15:37]

Also, another thing I asked ChatGPT to do was to transcribe a piece of audio. It was a minute and a half. Just put it to text. Couldn't do it.

[00:15:47]

That's a really smart use of- Yeah.

[00:15:50]

For some of the content I was creating, that was extremely original and violent, and I had to use Siri.

[00:15:55]

Yikes. I know. Wait, also, I thought what you were going to say is this is to do Instagram Have you seen that? What? If you post a picture in feed that uses AI, under your username, where there would be a notification or paid partnership. Yeah, I've seen this. Made by AI. It says made with AI. Then James Charles made a TikTok just being like, I photoshopped some people outside the back of my pictures, and it came up made with AI. It's not foolproof. It's not perfect, but I think it's good.

[00:16:29]

Okay, so James Charles, you're called out, whatever. And also that's good to know I didn't get a perfect picture at Disneyland with no one in the background.

[00:16:36]

No, I mean, I could have used that feature when I saw the picture of the Pope wearing the Puffer vest. Right.

[00:16:40]

I think overall it's good when things are made by AI. Just to say, for there to be a disclaimer made with AI. I think that's good.

[00:16:46]

I believe we said on this show that that needs to be done on Instagram. I think we literally asked for this.

[00:16:52]

And I think it's a very good solution.

[00:16:56]

I saw Kylie posted a picture promoting Ky, and it had one of the made with AI things. Wait. I wonder if she deleted it. It was embarrassing. What do you think she did? They don't tell you that they're going to put it up. Let me see. By the way, the photo is reuploaded now without that thing.

[00:17:15]

Which picture? Oh, no.

[00:17:16]

Here, here. Yeah, on the couch made with AI.

[00:17:18]

Also just the girl standing on the porch made with AI. Oh, my God. I wonder if this whole photoshoot was taken on a green screen, and they made it look like Woodsy.

[00:17:28]

I do want to I think this is a huge step in just learning to live with AI. We're not going to combat it. We're not going to get rid of it, but we need to learn to live with it. I think that this is actually something fabulous that Instagram did. I don't know if I've ever uttered those words, and I encourage all other platforms to do the same.

[00:17:45]

Yeah. Also, I feel like maybe she took these pictures in a studio and then put them on a background.

[00:17:50]

Or she asked AI, Hey, can you put Kylie Jenner in a field?

[00:17:55]

Oh, she went all the... No, I think she posed in her- Because she needs the dress. Yeah. But good to know. And that's just good to know as a people. It's like, Oh, okay. Even she's tinkering.

[00:18:07]

I agree. I like it.

[00:18:09]

I like it. And sorry to James Charles.

[00:18:12]

Yeah, but that's how I found out because I saw this Kylie thing. I'm like, What is that? And then James Charles was explaining how he got that tag too. I just need to be careful is what I'm saying. Is that considered AI?

[00:18:23]

No, but Facetune does have AI capabilities. So I think if you wade into those...

[00:18:30]

I just need to be careful.

[00:18:31]

Face app is AI, no?

[00:18:35]

I don't know. I don't use that. I would never heard. What is the Face app?

[00:18:40]

I think Face app is AI. I've never heard of that. If you guys use it, just warning you.

[00:18:44]

If you guys use it.

[00:18:46]

Yeah, I haven't used it in a minute. Not since this feature came out. Now I won't.

[00:18:50]

Yeah, I haven't used it in 24 hours.

[00:18:54]

Yeah. It's been a while. Well, you better not get made with AI on our stuff.

[00:18:59]

Like, Even if I did, my literal Instagram bio is Facetune fan page. I have long been an advocate of just owning your Photoshop. Oh, my God. I'm so glad we're talking about this. You know who's a big Facetune girly? And somebody on TikTok was putting together all of her, very recently, recent, very obvious Facetune moments.

[00:19:21]

Who?

[00:19:22]

Sabrina Carpenter. They were like, Is anybody else following along Sabrina Carpenter's Facetune journey? She mostly snatches her waist brings her ass out to give her that hour glass figure. And she's not the best at it, but it was so relatable. I love that. I love that. Same. I have long been an advocate of just like, Yeah, do it, but just own it, and that's fine.

[00:19:45]

It's so funny because it used to be like, you're trying to attain this body that's not relatable. But now it's like, if you do it, that actually makes you relatable.

[00:19:53]

And just as a disclaimer, I want everyone to know, most photos you see of me on the internet have been tweaked. My stories are raw. I'm not I'm putting it, obviously, one of the Instagram filters on, I'm a human being.

[00:20:02]

No, I think if you get to a place where you're facetuning your stories, you've lost the plot. I completely agree. They inspire in 24 hours. Don't sweat it. Have fun.

[00:20:13]

It's not that deep.

[00:20:14]

Yeah, the grid is forever. So you just want things looking right. But these days, people can spot it from a mile away. It's actually not worth it.

[00:20:23]

Unless you're like me and just owning it.

[00:20:26]

Yeah, but do you actually facetune all of your pictures that you post of yourself Do you use it for the grid?

[00:20:30]

No, actually. I barely facetune anymore. But it's like a...

[00:20:36]

I like to know that it's in my back pocket if something's really arrive. But I don't post that much. So it's like, if I'm not loving a photo, I just wouldn't post it, period. At this point in my life.

[00:20:45]

As much as I like cloud on it, I actually don't use FaceTune anymore at all, especially on my body. I haven't edited my body. More often than not, I'll use the face app to make my face a little smoother. They make you make your eyes a little wider and brighter, shit like that.

[00:21:03]

They add eye shadow. I don't know how to do my eye makeup, so I use face hat.

[00:21:08]

Yeah. I actually don't edit my body at all.

[00:21:12]

Yeah. Okay. That's what I thought. But I know it's It's funny.

[00:21:15]

It's like a part of my shtick. There was a time in my life where, seriously, no photo of myself went on the internet without three hours of sweat equity being put into face two.

[00:21:25]

We used to pass the phone around. Everyone was.

[00:21:27]

Yeah. And seriously, every now and then, Somebody would post one of the edits, a version of the photo that was pre-round 11 of the edit. And seriously, mortifying.

[00:21:37]

Mortifying. But yeah, I think everyone's chilled out with that. Maybe that's just the times, or maybe it's a sign of growing up, just being confident in who you are.

[00:21:47]

Yeah, it's true. No, I need to stop saying that shit because I actually don't do it at all anymore. Just my face, a little nip tuck.

[00:21:54]

Just a little makeup.

[00:21:56]

You could see it around lazy. It adds a contour. Yeah.

[00:21:59]

For me, it thickens my eyebrows a little bit, gives it a little more definition. I love that. Yeah, nothing crazy. That's fine, okay?

[00:22:08]

It's completely fine.

[00:22:11]

And whatever you do is fine. Just don't get caught.

[00:22:14]

We We got a great show today. I'm so excited to talk about this Travis podcast interview. Kicking my feet, giggling and swirling when I was watching it. Just truly gitty.

[00:22:25]

Okay, well, let's get into it and the Fast Five stories that you need to know.

[00:27:06]

Really, Bert.

[00:27:07]

So big news of the day. Travis, Kelsey went on a podcast called Bussin' with the Boys.

[00:27:14]

They were literally on a bus.

[00:27:16]

They were on a bus. I think that's the premise of the podcast, which I'm not familiar with the podcast. So the hosts did a lovely job. I think it was a wide-ranging podcast. Obviously, they've got the sports focus. But all in all, we got 10 minutes of Taylor talk.

[00:27:30]

Yes. I would like to thank the person on Twitter who did a supercut of all the minutes that they spoke about Taylor and just put it together in one 10-minute video so I didn't have to watch 60 minutes for the 10 that I really required. I want to say shout out to these guys. I think they were really excited to have Travis on. I guess Travis is a fan of their podcast, and this was their interview with him. I thought they did a good job of obviously asking questions about Taylor. But as we've spoken about many times, it is a delicate balance, and you don't want to get to a place where you're asking really dumb fucking questions, which has happened to Travis recently. So I thought they did an amazing job. It was so frustrating because I'm like, imagine a podcaster. Obviously, I think of myself. Imagine we get the opportunity to talk to Travis about Taylor for 10 minutes. The questions I would ask would be so fucking different. And because this was a sports cast, it was just a general lack of deep knowledge.

[00:28:18]

But I'm being the pick. That's what made it better. And that's why Travis was sitting for this interview. And I think because they asked all the right questions about him and sports, I'm assuming, it makes it okay to talk about Taylor. Versus him coming on his toes to talk only about tailored.

[00:28:33]

Yeah. They asked because I guess a game that they do is tier three where you rank your three favorite, whatever. And for this game, I mean, for this episode, they obviously did Taylor songs. And Travis's number one song was- Blank Space. Blank Space. Two was Cruel Summer. And then they were saying how that song is so good. And he was so proud to share this fact that he knew, which was that, did you guys know? He said to the other host, that song's not new. It's actually a couple of years old from an old album. He didn't know which album, Lover. And it had resurgence last summer. And it's just making these historic records, even though it's a song that's five years old. And they were like, oh, wow, I didn't know that.

[00:29:07]

Love that. No, they were all so funny talking about her music. And it's funny to hear from their POV because we're so deep in it. They've never heard Peace. But then his number three song was So High School, which all were like, Ha ha, yeah.

[00:29:21]

And then the middle host who was wearing the red hat, who has a daughter, I think.

[00:29:26]

Ruh. Shout out to Ruh.

[00:29:28]

Shout out to Ruh. And he was saying, and how one of the songs that they sing Ruh, and his top three, was such a random song. And I was like, I loved that it wasn't just the classics, Blank Space. His number two was Sweet Nothing, which is like, it's a lullaby, and I guess they sang it to his daughter. And it was so cute. I was like, I'm going to cry.

[00:29:44]

It was so cute. His number one was Blank space. Blank space also. And then his number three was karma. So this is where it got good because he said, Ruh loves to listen to karma in the car. And then Travis was like, Do you know who karma is? And I didn't get it at No, no.

[00:30:00]

It was such a... There was such a miscommunication watching it. I wanted to shake the screen. I wanted to shake everyone. Because Travis was obviously making a joke. Who's karma? Karma is the guy on the Chiefs. He was just referencing in a very cutesy way. But the guy didn't understand that.

[00:30:14]

I didn't understand it. I thought it was like, I'm like, Yeah, I got it.

[00:30:18]

Travis, he thought Travis was asking him, Who's that song about? So then it went into, Who's the song about? And the other guy goes, Jelen Hall, right? I was like, Oh, my God, they're talking about Jake Jelen Hall. I seriously was so grateful for the miscommunication?

[00:30:31]

No, literally going to pass away.

[00:30:33]

And Travis was like, Oh, I didn't actually want to... That's not where I was going. And he just ended up in this conversation about Jake Jelen Hall. Yeah.

[00:30:38]

And then they were like, Yeah, because it was guy on the screen. And now it's guy on the chief. He's like, Yeah, I'm the guy on the screen now. It was seriously beautiful and painful.

[00:30:47]

It was painful, but I was ultimately grateful for the experience.

[00:30:49]

The ultimate result was a wonderful result. Chilling. You're right.

[00:30:53]

Hearing these older men talk about their Taylor Swift. Sounds like when that other host said-The third one was the most interesting.

[00:30:59]

Our He's stuck on debut.

[00:31:01]

Yeah, right. He is stuck in 2011.

[00:31:05]

His number three was Our Song.

[00:31:07]

His number two- And he was talking about- His number two...

[00:31:09]

Oh, driving in his friend who's a girl. He made that clear. He was literally 30 years later, she's still in the friend zone. I'm like, Holly, it's never fucking happening for you. Like, go back to that.

[00:31:19]

Like, Holly, move on. And how that song just was the soundtrack to that time in his life. It was very sweet.

[00:31:26]

Very sweet. Then number two was Love Story. And then he's talking about What's so great is how she's brought this old story of the Montagues.

[00:31:33]

Montagues.

[00:31:34]

Seriously, hearing people break down her music who aren't so deep in it, there was something so beautiful and pure about it.

[00:31:40]

Refreshing. Pure. Exactly.

[00:31:42]

We do lose the Shakespearean element when we talk about love story these days. We do.

[00:31:47]

No, he's right. She's out here teaching a whole generation of young women about this great piece of literature.

[00:31:53]

Right. Romeo and Juliet. Oh, my God. I just thought his explanation was seriously so pure. And then his number one is Tim McGraw, her first single.

[00:32:02]

Yeah, he definitely was in his debut era while he was filming this podcast.

[00:32:05]

Yeah. So hopefully Travis told him when debut TV is dropping because that guy makes it more than anyone.

[00:32:11]

More than any of us. Yeah. Actually, it's so funny. People are waiting so desperately for Reputation. I don't think a lot of people are waiting with baited breath for the debut. It's not a very highly anticipated rerelease, except for this guy.

[00:32:22]

This guy, he's still here waiting for Tim McGraw.

[00:32:27]

They also talked... I thought Travis was so respectful, obviously of Taylor, but more so when he was just asked if there was any downside to this level of payment. We all know that there is. People go through your trash. People are insane. They were asking him if this immediate catapult to this new stratosphere has any downsides, privacy-wise. He wouldn't say anything bad. He almost did. He was like, Well, you know, people come to the house, but who cares? He really, I think, didn't want to put anything negative there that's come into his life from his relationship with Taylor, even though I'm sure there is. There's just life. I thought he was so respectful, and he was so open to being proud of his girlfriend publicly and being just supportive. I think a lot of men find that, not intimidating, but something they wouldn't do, especially on a podcast with guys. We're talking about sports. He was just so gitty, and I was watching it. I'm seriously kicking my feet. I thought it was the cuteest thing ever. All I do is think about these, too. It's really unhealthy. I need to seriously do something else.

[00:33:38]

I fell asleep last night thinking about them. I'm seriously obsessed with them. And I just can't believe he was on stage. I'm sorry.

[00:33:45]

I can't. This was probably recorded before London, because they would have asked about that, and because the turnaround time doesn't really make a lot of sense. And so they sit on a bus and they're bussing with the boys. No, they're bussing They're bussing with the boys.

[00:34:02]

Yeah, it's cute. Very cute.

[00:34:04]

Yeah, it is cute. He had a lot of nice things to say about Tay and how she moves with his friends and family and her authenticity and genuine nature.

[00:34:13]

She's not a diva. She's happy to just walk in places like a normal person.

[00:34:17]

And that's how he felt for her.

[00:34:20]

Yeah. And he did say there was a period of time where they were seeing each other and nobody knew. I would love them to just tell us exactly how it's... I just need to know No.

[00:34:30]

After rocking the stage at Arrowhead- And him going to trying to get backstage. Yeah, that's like, maybe you could come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead. When he said that because she came to Kansas City Stadium.

[00:34:43]

Yeah. But then he went on his podcast and said she wouldn't see him. Right.

[00:34:48]

What happened next?

[00:34:50]

In a biblical sense- Until the bears game. I need to know.

[00:34:56]

I really do need to know.

[00:34:58]

I also, not to brush anything I'm so happy. When are they getting married? I'm ready. I'm ready for them to start a family. I'm ready for them to grow old together. I'm ready.

[00:35:06]

I think they'll get engaged soon.

[00:35:09]

Yeah. I think by the end of the year.

[00:35:11]

And then post-erras would be a nice time to be pregnant for her. Not to pressure her, but...

[00:35:18]

No. Also, a lot of people took his time on stage where she's wearing this white gown and he's wearing a tux as some message, which I sometimes think people are a little crazy, but it's a valid point. It's fine.

[00:35:30]

I'm like, literally, she's wearing a wedding dress. He's wearing a tux. Even when I was watching stuff from London, she's up there doing TTPD in a wedding dress. She's ready to get married. That's not- It's actually so true. I was watching it. I'm like, Oh, she's wearing a wedding dress. What is she saying? It's wedding time. It's on and popping. She could wear any other dress. She's very into symbolism. I'm like, Are we all blind? It's a wedding dress.

[00:35:52]

Thousand %. Oh, another Taylor or Jason story that we didn't talk about was Hugh Grant.

[00:35:57]

Yeah.

[00:35:58]

He went to show and tweeter something afterwards. It was really sweet and complimentary, but very old manish of him. Taylor responded to his tweet last night. Taylor doesn't really tweet.

[00:36:08]

Yeah, she was very excited. She loves him.

[00:36:10]

Yeah. You just love to see all important fixtures in British culture. I'm putting respect on Taylor's name. Yeah. That podcast was amazing. I need him to do more press like that.

[00:36:21]

Well, you know he does his own podcast. If you really want to hear him.

[00:36:24]

Oh, yeah. I was actually just watching a clip of his podcast.

[00:36:26]

He couldn't talk more for a living.

[00:36:28]

They did a It was very toast-coated, this clip. They did a whole segment ranking Disney channel Original Movies, and they didn't know the phrase Disney channel Original Movies. So they're trying to describe Disney movies that aren't frozen or Moana, and they're not in the theaters, but they were on TV when we were a kid. I wanted to shake the screen. This must be how people feel when we can't figure something out on the toast. I'm like, It's called a Disney channel original movie, you guys. Overall, and surprise to nobody, their favorite was Brink, which wasn't even on our radar. It's like a skateboarding movie.

[00:37:00]

That's just because it's their voice.

[00:37:02]

Yeah. And they also loved Halloween Town. Jason and Kelsey said it was a better movie to him than Hocus Pocus, even though Hocus Pocus has the actress from Sex and the City in it.

[00:37:15]

Yeah, I wouldn't expect that what DCOMs resonated with us, as little girls, resonated with them as little boys.

[00:37:22]

They did say they liked Smart House and The Luck Of The Irish, which are some of my favorites. So we have that in common.

[00:37:28]

Yeah, that track. I mean, The Hard House is pretty gender-neutral.

[00:37:31]

Universal, yeah.

[00:37:33]

And Luck Of The Irish is sporty. I would put that in their column. But that guy who started it, he was the heartthrob. So it was for the girls, too.

[00:37:39]

There was a time in my life, and I don't know the actor's name, but the star of The Look of the Irish Disney channel original movie, where I would have laid my life out on the line for 30 minutes with him. I would have given it all just to spend some time with him.

[00:37:53]

What's his name? Ryan Meriman, and that name is familiar.

[00:37:57]

I remember- Wait, what's his name?

[00:37:58]

Ryan Meriman. Meriman. Never, ever. Oh, my God. They're literally looking at pictures of this man like, I'm in the time machine.

[00:38:08]

Okay, I'm running. He was also in Smart House.

[00:38:10]

They obviously just love his. Yeah, we're obviously just like, Ryan Ryan Merriman stands.

[00:38:16]

Wait, and what's he up to now? And as are they. He's still so cute, by the way.

[00:38:19]

I wonder what he's up to. You know who he reminds me of?

[00:38:23]

Yes, I do.

[00:38:24]

Danny from the Valley? Because he's just a working actor. A thousand %.

[00:38:28]

Okay, Ryan Merriman is a big Patriot. I'm on his Instagram. I see a million Veterans Day posts, American flags.

[00:38:35]

Oh, so he's a swirly.

[00:38:37]

He's a swirly. He takes a lot of selfies, which is very swirly-coated.

[00:38:44]

I do think that the person who starred in Smart House. Wait, is he doing ads?

[00:38:51]

Talking about- Yeah, I saw that, too.

[00:38:53]

About like, Smart House type stuff? That's fucking brilliant.

[00:38:56]

He's been married since 2014 to Kristen.

[00:39:00]

He should be the face of Ring.

[00:39:03]

Ring Doorbell?

[00:39:03]

Yeah, because it's like smart house. Why?

[00:39:06]

Oh, that's actually an amazing call.

[00:39:07]

Or like Alexa or whatever.

[00:39:09]

Yeah, Siri.

[00:39:11]

Wait, Claudia, he literally did an ad for Samsung's Smart Things Home, and it's like core memory unlocked. Finally back in a smart house after all these years.

[00:39:18]

No, I love that.

[00:39:20]

Add it to our Toasty Lion's best brand partnerships award. Hold on. I'm starting a list, okay?

[00:39:26]

Lindsay Hubbard and Kleinfeld.

[00:39:28]

That's how much I cannot forget this. Okay. Toasty. I need to put all the keywords in it for when I'm searching.

[00:39:34]

And by the way, in a year from now, we're going to be looking for this list, and it's going to say Ryan Merriman, and we're going to be like, who is that?

[00:39:40]

And then we're going to look it up. I'm going to be so glad we wrote it down because we're going to be obsessed. Lindsay Hubbard, Kleinfeld. Kleinfeld. Again. Ryan Merriman.

[00:39:50]

Samsung Smarthouse.

[00:39:52]

Samsung. Oh, this is my new favorite list. It's a good list. We can't abuse it, though.

[00:39:57]

Yeah, no, no. These two are premium. How did we get here? Oh, Disney channel original movie. Happy for them.

[00:40:08]

I'm happy for you.

[00:40:10]

I just said happy for... I don't even know who I'm happy for. I don't know what I'm referring to. That's how I transition sometimes from one story to the next. Happy for them.

[00:40:19]

Same with me in my song.

[00:40:21]

And I guess I'm happy if you were to ask me and really push. I'm happy for Ryan Merriman and Lindsay Hubbard.

[00:40:26]

And I am happy for the Bussink, boys.

[00:40:28]

Me too, actually. I I'm happy for them.

[00:40:30]

And for Travis, who seems happy. I do think I would categorize this story as happy for them.

[00:40:34]

Yeah. Overall, I would say I'm happiest for tailored.

[00:40:37]

You think?

[00:40:38]

Yeah.

[00:40:40]

Okay. Works for me. Yeah. Our next story, someone else that we're happy for. Who? Mindy Kaling. Oh my God. Quietly welcomed her third child that she secretly gave birth to in February. Mindy Kaling celebrated her 45th birthday with the reveal that she privately gave birth to her third child months ago. Mindy Kaling is a mom for the third time. The actress celebrated her birthday by taking to social media and revealing that she had given birth to her third child, a daughter named Anne, in February. She shared a gallery of photos to her Instagram page with the first featured photo being of her three children, her her daughter, Katherine, Kit, who's six, her son, Spencer, and baby Anne. The post also includes a photo of Mindy cradling her baby bump and a snap of her in a hospital bed alongside her two older kids.

[00:41:25]

I mean, this is just proof that famous people actually can keep things private if they wanted to. How cute. I saw this and I was so confused. It took me a second to figure out what she was sharing with us. I love this. Of course, the comments were just flooded, me trying to see if the baby looks like BJ Noback. A lot of people think that her first pregnancy with the twins. They're twins, right? The first two? Oh. Oh. Well, her first two kids, which she had shared that the sperm... It was a nontraditional way, and it was a sperm donor. And the internet pretty much just came to the consensus that it was B. J. Novak. I mean, it made sense at the time. They're so close. I don't know if they ever had in a romantic relationship, but they have this really amazing platonic friendship. I think a lot of people just assume that that's something you would do for a woman you love, but you don't love like that. I guess people would assume now that she's having another baby, she went back to him for sperm. However, there is a rumor that those two are no longer friends.

[00:42:24]

I actually don't think that he's the father of her children.

[00:42:27]

I don't think so either. Just because you're friends with someone doesn't mean that you give them sperm and then stay anonymous. Would you want to be the father?

[00:42:37]

Right. No. So you both just know that this guy who comes to your house for dinner every couple of months is also your dad.

[00:42:44]

Or you don't know, and then when you're going to go finding out. It's like, Oh, it was Uncle B. J. The whole time? But he never treated me like a son. It just feels like a situation that would build a lot of resentment. Yeah, very tangled web.

[00:42:57]

And now that there are rumors that these two are actually no longer even speaking, that's even more tangled. I actually never thought that he was the donor, the anonymous father. But this is just one of those great mysteries. People think that it's somebody We know.

[00:43:16]

I don't think that it is. But I don't know anything about the situation.

[00:43:20]

Yeah. I also love that Mindy Kayling, I saw her talk about this once, how she feels so lucky, obviously, because she's a person of immense means, and this is only something a rich person can do, that she was really able to spend X amount of years solely focusing on her career, killing it. Then once she reached a place of comfortability, she was able to give birth in her own way, just design the timeline of her life. I just love this woman. They could never make me hate her, ever. I feel like actually a lot of times people are trying to make me hate her.

[00:43:53]

Oh, for sure.

[00:43:55]

They, seriously, try. You will never get me to dislike this woman. I love her, and I just love this journey for her. Everybody comes to mother her in their own way, and they do it in their own way. I love the way she's sharing this with us, but that she got to have this private pregnancy and birth, and that she was able to keep it under wraps. I love that.

[00:44:13]

I do as well. I think this is so nice.

[00:44:16]

Me too.

[00:44:17]

Mazel tov.

[00:44:18]

I just love her.

[00:44:19]

The happy family.

[00:44:20]

Totally.

[00:44:22]

Our next story is actually a perfect segue, Mazel tov Happy Family News, because pregnant Haley Bieber dressed up her bump in a tan dress and matching Blazer at a road pop-up event. So the Haley Bieber pregnancy fashion era has commenced. She has a road pop-up event, which you know what? I understand saving it for this because now I'm like, road pop-up, road pop-up. Right. By the way, I love I have a face full of road. I don't know if I've said that recently.

[00:44:47]

You haven't, but I'm glad you brought it up. I'm wearing it today.

[00:44:50]

I have a face full of road on. I'm wearing their glazing milk. I'm wearing the cream as well. I'm wearing the new blush sticks that I got. I always have a peptide lip, but who doesn't? I use their face wash every night, the pineapple one.

[00:45:05]

I'm just a road swirly. I completely agree.

[00:45:06]

I'm just a road swirly.

[00:45:08]

I've always really liked their skincare stuff. I think it's just really simple and good. But now that she's venturing into makeup, the way I need more products, and I think that their products are so good because they don't launch a million things. They take their time. She was like, Strawberry Girl makeup. It's been a very long launch. They're very intentional. They're not launching a million things. And that's why it's so good. But the way I need more because the blush is seriously one of the best blushes I've ever used.

[00:45:33]

No, I love that blush. I use Piggy, which hurts my feelings, but I still like it.

[00:45:38]

Same. Same, same, same.

[00:45:42]

I like that she's coming at makeup from the lens of skincare. I also think just now being pregnant and then a new mama, she's going to focus. Her stuff's not made of crap.

[00:45:51]

Yeah. It's very simple. It's actually a really popular brand amongst people with acne because it's so simple. It's very clean. It's fragrance-free, I think.

[00:45:59]

Love. I've just been really enjoying it. So this wasn't meant to go down that path, but just to say I heart road, and I heart her pregnancy style. We did talk a little bit about how we are excited for this.

[00:46:12]

But we haven't gotten much, which is why we haven't spoken about it, really, probably since she announced her pregnancy.

[00:46:17]

Right. And it's just out of the gate, gorgeous, gorgeous.

[00:46:21]

Yeah. What else did we expect?

[00:46:25]

No, not much. But I think it's just a great example for women. Just because you're pregnant, you can still lay the house down boots.

[00:46:34]

You can be styling, while- Yeah. I just love Haley Bieber. Over the years, I just love her.

[00:46:43]

Oh, and Claudia- I'm feeling so positive today. Claudia, guess who her dress is by?

[00:46:48]

Ky.

[00:46:49]

Laquan Smith. You're lying. No.

[00:46:52]

We are so similar.

[00:46:54]

It's insane. What's that effect when you see one thing one time, and now it's everywhere because it's happening to me a lot.

[00:46:59]

I don't know what the effect is called. I don't know if it actually has a name, which is crazy because they give a name to fucking everything these days. But I don't know if that phenomenon, there's a verb for it, but I agree.

[00:47:10]

It's been happening to me so much.

[00:47:12]

With what else?

[00:47:13]

I don't know. I was just trying to think.

[00:47:16]

Yeah, it's just like you've never heard of this person or this thing, and then all of a sudden you see it everywhere.

[00:47:21]

Oh, like sometimes an ingredient, like eyncorn. I keep seeing that. Never heard of it until last week. Now I've seen it three times. That's crazy. Also, two things, two different thoughts. One, I feel like it might be happening to people now because our phones are listening to us, and so they hear that word one time or that concept, and now you get targeted for it. So that could be why it feels like it's happening more.

[00:47:44]

It's not fate, it's Mark Zuckerberg.

[00:47:46]

But I also think it's part of the theory and the Einstein theory of relativity.

[00:47:51]

For sure. Totally.

[00:47:52]

Oh, and two, so random, but when you were talking about cleaning up the Paris River, I've actually just seen one of those old history posts. In the 1950s, they drained the canals in Venice to clean them. They hadn't been cleaned in hundreds of years. It was this huge project that the whole city, it was like they were so proud of it. It was like, So the way that it was all planned and really incredible, like a feat in engineering, and they cleaned the canals, and then they put the water back in, and we resumed life. They need to do that for the River Seine.

[00:48:27]

But you can't drain a river. That's the thing. That's what we It's like, it's an official, real body of water. It's not a pool. Like a canal, you can drain and clean. And the fact that it took them so long with a manmade thing is actually disgraceful. You can't clean the Seine.

[00:48:42]

You can't clean the Seine.

[00:48:44]

You can't drain it and mop the floor.

[00:48:46]

I guess that's true. I guess you actually could if you put a dam and block off both sides.

[00:48:53]

You drain the water, then you kill every living organism.

[00:48:56]

I guess there's not fish in the Venice Canals?

[00:48:59]

No, it's like you said, it's a pool. What they, I think, were trying to do was you pick up all the trash, and then if you give it time... It will regenerate. Oceans and rivers are living organisms. They're actually only dirty because of human error and manmade issues. So if you clean up all the trash and whatever, it should in weeks, months, time, restart itself.

[00:49:25]

No, but people could still be throwing in trash. What they would have to do is build really big walls along both sides of the river for years, keep those walls up and let it regenerate.

[00:49:39]

Or they just have the- Olympic-competitions elsewhere.

[00:49:44]

Right. Keep your shit river.

[00:49:46]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly.

[00:49:48]

And let's row somewhere else.

[00:49:50]

Correct.

[00:49:52]

Yeah, that's messed up stuff. If I'm a rower, I feel like every Olympics, some sport gets shafted, whether it's the temperature or The snow isn't real. The steers are fucked. The rower is that coxon getting splashed in the face with the dirty water.

[00:50:07]

With duty water.

[00:50:08]

Prayerss. Prayerss up for the coxons.

[00:50:11]

Also, there was more Olympic news. It happens every year, we have the same conversation. Why is it always the Olympians begging for basic human rights? I guess in the Olympic village, there's no air conditioning, and it's a really big problem. America is actually bringing their own air conditioning to France for their Olympians, which is seriously in the theme of being swirly and patriotic, proud to be an American.

[00:50:38]

I mean, there's nothing more patriotic than AC.

[00:50:41]

No, there's not.

[00:50:42]

That's really crazy, though.

[00:50:44]

No. And I know at this point it's repetitive, but once again, I do want to ask, why is it always the Olympic village giving these world-class athletes at the top of their game, giving them actually squalar to live in? And why is it always them begging for beds and air to breathe? Basic human necessities.

[00:51:05]

It's crazy. I just want to know, what's the argument against AC at the Olympics? I'm sure it's a terrible one, but there obviously is one.

[00:51:13]

No, the argument against AC That is more of a cultural difference. Europe doesn't really embrace air conditioning at all.

[00:51:19]

So then the Americans bring their own.

[00:51:21]

In the same way that actually in European culture, ice isn't a thing. They don't do ice in their drinks. That is cultural, and that I understand. But I'm pretty sure in all cultures, people want mattresses.

[00:51:36]

Yeah. And the clean running water. I didn't realize AC was an us thing.

[00:51:40]

Oh, it's a big time us thing. You're in Europe in the summer, and I've been seeing this joke on social media. The UK is experiencing this crazy heatwave. Somebody on Twitter translated because they do Celsius. It's the equivalent of 79 degrees. It's literally not crazy. There are pictures of people putting themselves in public fountains. They're so hot. It's like, well, if you just got air conditioning, 79 degrees would not be a big deal for you. Wow. So some of it is cultural, and that I understand.

[00:52:05]

Got it. Okay. So it's not like, oh, we're going to deprive you of AC. You don't deserve it. We don't want to spend the money on you, and it's bad for the environment.

[00:52:14]

I would argue, probably a lot of the delegates from countries within Europe, it's not a big deal for them. For Americans, they're like, No, we've trained our whole lives in air conditioning. We need this, so they're bringing their own.

[00:52:26]

Okay, then it's an us problem. When it's a you problem, you have to make accommodations for yourself. Bring your own AC. E-y-o-a-c. Totally. Okay. Are you ready for our next story?

[00:52:40]

What number? Four.

[00:52:42]

I don't think you're ready.

[00:52:45]

I don't think so either.

[00:52:46]

I don't think so. You're going to want to get ready.

[00:52:48]

That's so crazy. I'm always ready.

[00:52:50]

Yeah, it's okay.

[00:52:53]

[00:57:33]

Thank you, Tert.

[00:57:34]

An absolute pleasure.

[00:57:36]

And as a thank you for that, I'm going to share some exciting news with you that I don't know if you've heard.

[00:57:42]

Has it broke while we were?

[00:57:44]

No, it's just I only saw it when I was searching for stories.

[00:57:48]

That is my favorite type of story, though. We've been doing the show for what now? Almost an hour. Things can happen, and maybe when I'm doing the ads, you check your phone. I do. To me, that's the best, most It's an exciting story.

[00:58:01]

So it's not that, but it is news that I think you're going to be really jazzed about, which is that Eddie Murphy reveals a new Shrek movie is coming.

[00:58:08]

I did hear this. Rats.

[00:58:10]

Or shall I say, donkeys. I'm still so excited. So Eddie Murphy reveals not only that he's been working on Shrek 5, but he confirmed a donkey spinoff.

[00:58:20]

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't hear about Shrek 5. I didn't even know we were up to five. I heard about the donkey spinoff.

[00:58:24]

Oh, okay. Well, Shrek 5, turt. Shrek and donkey are back. Et sat with Eddie Murphy, Chosen Gordie-Levitt, Kevin Bacon, and a bunch of other people about a different movie. But Murphy had some other movie news. He revealed that a new Shrek film is on the way and confirmed a donkey spinoff. He said, We started doing Shrek six months ago, so Shrek is coming back. So we're doing another Shrek and we're doing a donkey movie. There's a donkey, we have a donkey movie.

[00:58:49]

Wait, I'm obsessed with all elements of this. First of all, I knew there was Shrek, and I knew there was Shrek 2. I wasn't clear on three and four.

[00:58:55]

So I watched Shrek 3 because I actually did a Shrek marathon two years ago, so I'm pretty caught up. Shrek 2 and 3. I actually think Shrek 3 was weird. I think it was giving Ogre Revolution. What I don't recall is Shrek 4. Let me look it up.

[00:59:15]

I had no idea we were at these types of numbers.

[00:59:18]

So Shrek 4 was called Shrek Forever After.

[00:59:22]

Mm-hmm.

[00:59:24]

Oh, yeah. So Shrek's world gets turned upside down after he makes a deal with Rumple Stillskin. So is that the revolutionary one? What was Shrek 3? King Harold suddenly croaks, Shrek learns he will have to reroll far, far away unless he can find a suitable heir to the throne. Oh, yeah. And then he finds Cousin Arte, who's Justin Timberlake, a teenage slacker in medieval high school. You saw that one, no?

[00:59:51]

No, no. I'm telling you, I've seen Shrek, too. Honey, the Hero.

[00:59:54]

When they go meet the in-laws. But that's pretty much it.

[00:59:56]

Yeah. I'm so excited that I now have two more Shrek movies to watch for the first time, and a third one is coming. I do want to say the best part of the Shrek movies, all of them, is Hands Down, donkey.

[01:00:09]

100%.

[01:00:10]

Donkey getting his own spin-off is so long overdue.

[01:00:13]

Especially because Puss got his own.

[01:00:15]

Right. And I didn't think Puss was that great.

[01:00:17]

Puss was great in the context in the ensemble. But I think Puss alone, he's only great with others. He plays well with others.

[01:00:26]

He was a great addition, but he was by no means a breakout star.

[01:00:30]

He was. I understand the impulse. It felt forced for me. Sometimes it's too much of a good thing. When someone who's great on Real Housewives gets their own spin-off, you see how they're not aces in all cylinders. They were great up against lesser people.

[01:00:46]

I imagine that was difficult for donkey, just sit by, see this newcomer come in and get his own show and his own spin off and his own franchise. It's always been donkey for me. The fact that it's happening, I'm so thrilled about. And honestly, when I really do think about the Shrek franchise, which I actually do quite a bit, I really think about how every actor who was cast in that original version of Shrek, I'm sure they wake up every day and they thank God for Shrek.

[01:01:15]

It is, first of all, the first movie- I wake up every day and thank God for Shrek.

[01:01:19]

The first movie itself was retirement money for all those main people. I mean, Cameron Diaz literally never worked again until she went on hiatus, came back and made one movie that was the best movie ever, The Other Woman, and then went back to retirement.

[01:01:30]

But you can do that. You can be selective when you don't have to.

[01:01:33]

When you have Shrek money. I mean, Eddie Murphy, I don't think he was planning on really doing a million movies after Shrek, but also retirement money.

[01:01:41]

Mike Myers, Don't Dive, Star.

[01:01:43]

Right. Everybody. And when you think about how much money they made versus how little work it was compared to other movies, hair, makeup, being on camera, it's literally voice. I really try not to be a jealous person, although I am in some regards, but I am deeply jealous that I was not cast as the original voice of someone in Shrek, because if I was, trust and believe, you wouldn't be seeing me right now.

[01:02:06]

I want to know what the biggest animated movies of all time were, because we always talk about Shrek, and they don't have to work anymore. But Shrek isn't the biggest-Well, in terms of what? Highest grossing?

[01:02:17]

Probably frozen.

[01:02:18]

Okay, so number one is the Lion King 2019. Is that?

[01:02:22]

Beyoncé.

[01:02:24]

So they don't have to work.

[01:02:26]

But the thing is, remember they released It was a poster for Lion King? It was an ensemble of 15 people. Shrek was three people: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy. They each made from that first movie.

[01:02:40]

So it's frozen. So frozen. So Adina Menzel and Kristen Bell and Josh Gad are separate.

[01:02:45]

Yes, but I also think times have changed. I was actually just reading a... Oh, this was about Inside Out. Because two of the main characters from Inside Out, one, Bill Hater, who played... What voice was he? I think he was discussed. Mindy Kaling, who did... I don't know, she was discussed. Whatever. They were both big characters in the first movie, and they did not return for the second movie. That's because there was such a pay gap. The industry is paying celebrities a lot less now because it's just making the movies too expensive. But Amy Poehler got paid, I think, $7 million for the second movie because she's the main character in Inside Out. Bill Hater and Mindy Kaling were offered $300,000 dollars, and that just wasn't enough for them to do the movie. So they're literally not in the movie. So there is this shift in the voice acting space where celebrities are being paid less. And I think when Shrek came out, it was such a new concept, putting familiar celebrity voices into these characters, that you were getting paid a lot more. I do think we've reached the peak of that, and it's coming down now, and we're seeing that with Inside Out.

[01:03:53]

But I do think when Shrek came out, it was this perfect timing, once in a lifetime deal.

[01:04:00]

Yeah, but same with Toy Story, Tom Hanks.

[01:04:03]

Yes, yes, yes, exactly. That's a good one.

[01:04:06]

And Finding Nemo.

[01:04:08]

Yes, yes.

[01:04:09]

Who played Nemo?

[01:04:13]

I know Ellen was the fish, Dory.

[01:04:15]

And who played Marlin, the Dad?

[01:04:18]

I know the voice. That's a good question. Find a Nemo voice.

[01:04:25]

Alexander Gould pined Nemo. Albert Brooks played Marlin. He's probably just enjoying his life somewhere.

[01:04:30]

Albert Brooks. Yeah, he's a classic actor.

[01:04:33]

But I also think Inside Out is more of what you said of an ensemble cast anyway. So it's not one person getting the whole pie. In the first movie- By the way, I've not seen it. You're so wrong for that. That's just a vibe. The first movie- I will see it. I will. It's not for any reason.

[01:04:47]

The first movie is five main characters. Yes, Amy Poehler as Joy is the main one. But sadness, anger, I would say five. Now they added two more characters. So yes, it's becoming a bigger cast.

[01:05:00]

Okay. Then also Ice Age is major. Who plays that little-Oh, yeah. That Ice Age guy?

[01:05:07]

Ice Age, I totally miss the boat on. It's not something I care about.

[01:05:11]

You know what? Can I ask you a question? Totally switching subjects. It's something I've seen around on the internet. Oh, John Leguzamo plays Sid. Oh, yeah. And Ray Romano is in it.

[01:05:23]

I mean, oh my God. Was Ray Romano not rich enough? Yeah.

[01:05:27]

Does everyone not love him enough?

[01:05:29]

No, it's enough. He also got his own sitcom at a time. We're getting your own sitcom if you hit it big. You're seriously Seinfeld money. Raymond has enough money. It's like, give the job to somebody else. Are you going to ask me?

[01:05:42]

What's Bratz summer?

[01:05:45]

I have no idea. It's- To do with Charlie XX. Yeah, Charlie XX is the name of her album. So colloquially, I think it's just being used as... It's very much in the girly and gay community. I think it's a version of Hot Girl Summer, like Brad Summer. Like, Bratzummer, we're just popping our pussies.

[01:06:01]

Brad Summer is about embracing an imperfect indie sleaze inspired over. What? Wear a rotation of slinky tank tops. Ask for what you want. Stay out late and misbehave. Step into your Brad era, courtesy of Charlie XXX and her new album. Okay, so I'm not in my brat era.

[01:06:23]

No.

[01:06:24]

Oh, this is a weird quote. I feel like everybody thinks their moral compass has to be so in check all the time. Who said that? Charlie XX. But sometimes it's just fun if it's not.

[01:06:36]

No, that is not a good message.

[01:06:38]

That's not a good message because you can have fun with your moral compass and tag. I think when your moral compass is on the fritz, maybe it could lead to some fun, but very short term. You're not going to feel good about that.

[01:06:52]

No, I don't like that at all. I feel like also it's of the utmost importance, no matter what type of vibe you're going for, whether it be fun or chill, that your moral compass always remains intact.

[01:07:04]

Yeah. And then this next part of the sentence, I think she thinks supports the first part, but I agree more with the second part than the first part, and I don't think that they're related. She said, Everyone's a bitch sometimes, and that's okay. In the past decade or so, niceness has become a superficial commodity, and as a result, people aren't as genuine anymore. But Brat is pushing back on that norm with an alluring attitude for the season ahead. So I agree that everyone is just so fake nice now. It doesn't mean anything anymore. But that is not to do with a moral compass.

[01:07:35]

No, I actually really don't like at all that initial quote. And I think, seriously, we need to not be spreading that message. People are already off their rockers. I think encouraging them to throw their moral compass out the window and just their sense of right and wrong. I think that's a big no-no.

[01:07:54]

And I think positioning it as your moral compass is stomping you from having fun It's literally not. The cancelation of the moral compass. I'm not here for it. I'm not here for it. We could do all of those things and keep our compass intact.

[01:08:11]

Hashtag, I stand firmly with the moral compass.

[01:08:15]

That's a really bad take on her part.

[01:08:19]

I hate to use this word, and I mean it in a serious way. That's seriously damaging.

[01:08:25]

I feel like she got carried away. I feel like I get what she Which is what she's trying to say, which is like, throw caution to the wind.

[01:08:34]

I feel like maybe she doesn't know what moral compass means, what it truly means. Because for those who don't know, your moral compass is what's inside of you that tells you the difference between right and wrong. If we just saw our moral compass out the window, we would just be stabbing people in the street.

[01:08:45]

It's part of your soul. That's like being like, be soulless for the summer.

[01:08:51]

No. No.

[01:08:53]

Souls are good. Moral compasses are good. These are real things.

[01:08:58]

You can have fun while they are intact. Yikes, bikes. How did you just stumble upon that? Because you were looking for Brat Girl Summer.

[01:09:06]

I looked up Brat Girl Summer, and then I saw Fashion magazine. What is Brat Summer? The Charlie XDX esthetic explained. And then she said that really damaging quote on last Cultureista's podcast.

[01:09:17]

Damn.

[01:09:18]

Yikes, bikes.

[01:09:20]

Well, those were the past five, right? Or do we have one more?

[01:09:24]

And I guess that harks back to her original song, I don't want to go to school. I just want to break the rules. She's been trying to tell us for a while.

[01:09:32]

That she's compassless.

[01:09:34]

But go to school, okay? Just not college. Go to school! Go to school! No, we still have our final story.

[01:09:44]

Oh, okay. That's why I had lost count. I wasn't sure if we were at 5:00.

[01:09:47]

Which is a little bit of where in the world is Jennifer Lopez amid her tour cancelation and divorce pending.

[01:09:53]

I saw she was at a fashion show.

[01:09:55]

She was on a yacht last week while Ben Affleck is not on a yacht. I saw that, too. And Then she flew commercial to Paris Fashion Week. It looked like she was sitting in comfort. And of course, the headline is she flies commercial after scrapping tour. It's giving money problems, but I don't think that that's what it is.

[01:10:12]

Okay, I need to see a picture. It's so funny.

[01:10:13]

It's like, she took a jet, she's being wasteful. If she flies commercial, it's like, oh, sign of the times for JLo.

[01:10:19]

Here's the thing. Trust and believe JLo flew commercial, and it had nothing to do with the environment. She's not one of those celebrities who even pretends, which I appreciate.

[01:10:27]

I don't think it had anything to do with her financial I don't think it's her role status either.

[01:10:30]

I think it just maybe made more sense. But I do want to know why she's flying, Coach.

[01:10:39]

I mean, maybe it was a last-minute flight. Maybe she had a last-minute opportunity, not enough time to get a plane.

[01:10:45]

No, I'm sorry. This is Jaila. She was just on a yacht.

[01:10:48]

It's not about the money.

[01:10:50]

No, it's not about the money, but I need to know what it is about. I'm actually really shook by this photo somebody took of her in a three-person row.

[01:10:57]

Yeah. Economy comfort.

[01:10:59]

When do you think the last time... Do you think this was the worst day of her life? When do you think the last time she flew like this was?

[01:11:05]

I think she's just in a place where it's just pile it on. Yeah, get it out of the way. Ben didn't pick up. I think he was arguing with a photographer. Even though he was just on a piece of content with Kevin Hart, talking about JLo in a positive way.

[01:11:21]

It might have been old.

[01:11:23]

That's true.

[01:11:24]

She was flying from Naples to Paris. That's a two-hour flight.

[01:11:29]

Maybe she just wanted to get there, and the jet was not fired up.

[01:11:35]

It's shocking. I agree with you, though. The tour being canceled, it has nothing to do with her financial woes. Like you said, she just turned it out. It's $250,000 for a week. She's fined financially, and I'm sure it was this last minute whatever. Maybe she really does care about the environment. From her yacht. It's still unbelievably jarring to see that photo. I encourage you all to just do a quick Google search. You have to see it in order to believe it, because she's obviously so famous, and she's this iconic woman, but she's also an incredibly fancy woman.

[01:12:09]

She has burkish- She comes up in the list of divas if you were to search Mariah Carey.

[01:12:15]

Yes, perfect. She's also very into glam and luxury and rich. She's got the Birkins. It's like seeing a teacher out of school. Just wrong.

[01:12:27]

Yeah, but you know that teachers do leave school.

[01:12:29]

But that's not my business. No.

[01:12:32]

Yeah. So it's like, yeah, she does need to get from here to there.

[01:12:35]

Right. But how it happens is seriously not for public consumption.

[01:12:38]

But it's a busy time of year for private planes in the south of France. It's true. Maybe she couldn't She was just like, If we just buy a commercial, we'll be there already.

[01:12:48]

Yeah.

[01:12:48]

While you are fiddling around.

[01:12:50]

It's true.

[01:12:53]

So all signs are pointing towards things not being great in the low Affleck household.

[01:12:59]

In the low Affleck household. When I climbed into bed and saw that photo, I started feeling sad.

[01:13:11]

Yeah. Imagine how she feels with the photo out there. I think in-Of course. In her seat, she's fine. It's just a seat.

[01:13:20]

I don't actually know if she's fine. Imagine you haven't seriously flown anything other than private or lux first class in probably 30 She could have driven.

[01:13:33]

If she was worried about appearances, she could have worn a hat. She could have dressed low-key. If she wore a hat and workout clothes and sunglasses, no one would know that that was JLo sitting there.

[01:13:44]

They would. A plane is just close quarters, man. You can't hide.

[01:13:49]

I think anyone can really get away with being super low-key.

[01:13:54]

Yeah, maybe if she shaped her head, they'd be like, Oh, that bald woman looks like JLo if she was bald.

[01:13:59]

Okay, so she could get away with it.

[01:14:01]

Right. Well, thank you, Jackie, for the fast five. I enjoyed every single one of them. I guess Bratz summer is about to kick off. No, it's not. Bratz summer, less than swirly summer. How about this? Yes, we're patriotic. We have our moral compasses intact as well at Swirly Girls summer.

[01:14:15]

We really do. Moral compass, soulful, patriotic summer.
